- Sandbox Options for enemy and animal Density and Respawn rates have been split into day and night settings. Due to this change, please check your preset codes to make sure they are still valid. **The Henpocalypse V3.1.0 Update Release Notes**
- Chicken farming in the apocalypse is harder than it sounds. First you have to sneak up on the fowl. When that fails, give chase until you catch it. Then defend your raucous, fidgeting feathered friend from zombies all the way back to base. Place it in your Chicken Coop workstation for a steady supply of eggs and feathers. Rinse. Repeat. Now you're an apocalyptic chicken farmer.
- The Chicken Coop includes three tool slots:
- Brooding Lamp: Speeds up production and chicken maturation
- Chicken Run: Lets chickens hunt for bugs, cutting feed cost by 50%
- Nesting Box: Unlocks chicken breeding and adds nesting slots
- Once you catch a chicken and add it to your Chicken Coop, you will need to feed it by crafting ‘Rekt’s Chicken Feed’ made from Corn and Rotting Flesh.
- In addition to capturing and carrying chickens, a new Chicken Stress event mechanic has been added for flavor. By default, when your captured chicken reaches 100% stress, you drop your chicken and a special event is triggered based on your game stage. These new events range from dropping your chicken to angered zombies to angry chickens! A sandbox option is available to tune these events to your liking.
- Along with the new Chicken Coop Workstation comes four new Chicken-Centric Recipes including:
- Chicken Nuggets
- Crafted from grilled meat, feathers, corn meal, and animal fat. Not only are the nuggets filling, they temporarily remove encumbrance.
- Chicken Wings
- Crafted from domesticated chickens, corn meal, eggs, oil, and honey. Grandpa’s favorite wings give you temporarily boosted melee damage and infection immunity.
- Ash Chicken Stew
- Crafted from domesticated chickens, mushrooms, corn, coal, and water. Comes with plenty of food, but has no smell to zombies.
- Roadrunner Chicken Jerky
- Crafted from domesticated chickens, yucca fruit, nitrate powder, and beer. A moderate amount of food that temporarily boosts your run speed, beep beep.
- The Big Beak cosmetic outfit, originally worn by Nana's Famous Chicken Mascot, will be available Wednesday, July 29th. Cluck and load. Cock-a-Doodle Doom.
- We’ve added new Sandbox Settings. Note: Existing custom presets may require updating with these new additions. New Sandbox Options:

- Sandbox Options for enemy and animal Density and Respawn rates have been split into day and night settings. Due to this change, please check your preset codes to make sure they are still valid. - A late localization update was made to the chicken coop input tooltip where chickens were mistakenly mentioned as an input value. The chicken coop does require chickens for production. A localization update for additional languages will come with a future update.
- Although new games will always be recommended, game saves should be compatible and a new game is not required. Don't forget that saves can be backed up with the Manage Saves function. Copy and name your save for future use.

We're pushing another hotfix to Stable today with V2.5 b32. This update focuses on vehicle improvements, improved gear, and several outfit fixes.
The big news is a simplified vehicle camera method that should eliminate the stuttering many of you experienced with variable frame rates. While passengers may still notice some reduced jitter, this is a significant improvement for drivers. We're continuing to work on further refinements.
We've also improved the male and female rogue hood with variants for those of you who prefer a more tactical approach to the apocalypse. Several cosmetic fixes round out this update, including fixes for the pirate outfit, raider outfit warnings, and lumberjack gloves.

Howdy survivors!
We are pushing a hotfix to Stable today that will address a few issues before a much larger V2.6 update coming in a few weeks.
The hotfix includes many improvements to the Apiary, but most importantly a fix for some chunk corruption issues. Also note that the bee swarms have a chance to spawn when the Apiary is closed instead of when opened. This will allow players to add flowers or tool mods without having to worry about being in the window.
We have also have a fix for the Hellreaver cosmetic console spam and the shin guards not showing on the female version. Several other outfit fixes as well.

The V2.5 Survival Revival Stable Update is out on all platforms!
Although the build is compatible with 2.X save games we highly recommend starting a new game for the best experience. If you continue an old save game **we recommend turning on storms** as they are much improved.
We did have issues where some people experienced cleansed crafting queues in workstations, so we do **heavily encourage players** to clear their crafting queues before updating.

**Warning to players before upgrading to V2.5**

**_With changes made to the workstation progression, if a player is in the middle of crafting a workbench, the update may remove that recipe unlock and clear the crafting queue. This will NOT refund the crafting ingredients back to the player. Be sure to clear all crafting queues before updating to V2.5_.
_Please note that we have adjusted the default controller layout to accommodate some new and reworked controller inputs. The first time starting the game after updating all input bindings will be reset to their new defaults._

**2.5 Survival Revival Release Notes**
**Improved Water Survival (Empty Jars)**
We know this is a topic of great interest to the community, and we have taken extra care to listen and read hundreds of posts and polls. What stood out the most is that people liked the old empty jar system for the immersive feeling of rummaging through loot to find an empty jar, locating a water source, filling the jar, and boiling it to drink it safely.
With that in mind, we combined the best of the old and new systems and made it balanced. Here’s how it works:
- In the early game, you scavenge for jars and fill them with murky water from natural lakes, rivers and ditches, or from other man-made bodies of water. Murky water is boiled for use as normal. Toilets, sinks, and other water fixtures are all dried up.
- Early to mid-game, you can choose to craft dew collectors or continue only to use the jars that you find.
- To balance gameplay, jars are one-time use, not refunded by default _(See Jar Refund Options Below)_. The dew collector unlocks at Workstation Crafting level 16, is now crafted on the workbench, and additional resources are required for crafting. Murky water and other drinks still have a chance to be found in loot.
- Jars can be crafted once you have a forge and a crucible.

Although the build is compatible with 2.X save games we highly recommend starting a new game for the best experience. If you continue an old save game **we recommend turning on storms** as they are much improved.
We did have issues where some people experienced cleansed crafting queues in workstations, so we do **heavily encourage players** to clear their crafting queues before updating.

**2.5 Survival Revival Release Notes**
**Improved Water Survival (Empty Jars)**
We know this is a topic of great interest to the community, and we have taken extra care to listen and read hundreds of posts and polls. What stood out the most is that people liked the old empty jar system for the immersive feeling of rummaging through loot to find an empty jar, locating a water source, filling the jar, and boiling it to drink it safely.
With that in mind, we combined the best of the old and new systems and made it balanced. Here’s how it works:
- In the early game, you scavenge for jars and fill them with murky water from natural lakes, rivers and ditches, or from other man-made bodies of water. Murky water is boiled for use as normal. Toilets, sinks, and other water fixtures are all dried up.
- Early to mid-game, you can choose to craft dew collectors or continue only to use the jars that you find.
- To balance gameplay, jars are one-time use, not refunded by default _(See Jar Refund Options Below)_. The dew collector unlocks at Workstation Crafting level 16, is now crafted on the workbench, and additional resources are required for crafting. Murky water and other drinks still have a chance to be found in loot.
- Jars can be crafted once you have a forge and a crucible.
- With no perks, the recipe will be 31 sand and 6

**Vehicle Storage Improvements & Mods**
Each vehicle by default will now support one additional storage column for more storage slots:
- Bicycle: 1 extra storage slot
- Minibike: 3 extra storage slots
- Motorcycle: 4 extra storage slots
- Gyrocopter: 5 extra storage slots
- 4X4 Truck : 9 extra storage slots
We are adding vehicle storage mods that will increase any vehicle's storage capacity by 1 row which will increase a vehicle's storage capacity by 10 slots. Each vehicle can hold up to two vehicle storage mods for a total increased storage capacity of 20 storage slots. When you install a vehicle storage mod you will see your vehicle visibly change. For example: you would see new saddlebags on a bicycle when a vehicle storage mod is installed.

Earlier this week we released a Stable patch that was required for connectivity. The compatibility for EOS versions <1.17.1.3 did expire on October 1st.
We also have some small fixes in this, but the planned content release will come with V2.5 instead of V2.4 now.

We have a lot of changes that were talked about in the Town Hall Stream with more to come at a later date.
Disclaimer:
While we worked hard to make sure save games continue without issue, please make a back up of your current save before starting the game in V2.3
We've also added a runtime function that will automatically convert the old badges to the new survival gear.
Some challenges will remain completed, while others will be optional for those that choose to complete them.
If the badges were previously unlocked, the recipes for the new survival gear should also be unlocked.
Highlights:
- Biomes and their Challenges can be explored and completed in any order to unlock Survival Gear recipes
- Recover from biome hazard effects while sheltered allowing players to explore deeper into each biome
- Recover from biome hazard effects in any other biome
- Smoothies were updated with unique names and icons
- Biome Badges have been changed to Survival Gear with updated icons to look more thematic to the game's style
