The Legends Update: New Contacts, New Weapons, and Progression

The streets of San Paro are evolving. The Legends update has officially arrived, bringing a massive expansion to APB Reloaded. With an increased rank cap, the introduction of long-awaited contacts, new weapons, a suite of tactical gear, and even a minor map update, this update marks a significant milestone for the APB Reloaded community.

New Blood in Financial: Zombie & LaRocha

Progression has been blown wide open with the arrival of two iconic contacts: Zombie and LaRocha. These power players are now active in the Financial District, offering Enforcers and Criminals alike the chance to push their careers further than ever before.

  • Rank Cap Increase: The maximum level has been raised to Rank 290, providing veterans with new goals and rewards.

  • Contact Rewards: Working with Zombie and LaRocha grants access to a formidable localized arsenal, including:

  • FAR NFCP 2 & SWARM NFCP 2

  • Joker M9 & OCA ‘Silverado’

  • SBSR Coroner ‘Terminus’ / ‘Lenda’

  • ISSR-A ‘Adeen’ (Available as a Rare Daily reward)

Tactical Evolution: Weapons & Mods

The combat meta is shifting with the introduction of high-tier weaponry and a brand-new grenade.

  • The Joker C9S ‘Prototype’: A new Legendary variant enters the fray, offering a unique edge for players looking to dominate close-quarters engagements with a rare, high-performance loadout.

  • EMP Grenade: Unlocking at Grenadier Rank 3, the EMP Grenade is a game-changer. Designed to disable vehicles and electronic systems, it provides a necessary counter to vehicle-heavy strategies and tech-reliant opponents.

Customization and Performance: New Modifications

Fine-tune your performance with a fresh batch of modifications for both weapons and vehicles. Whether you prioritize stability or mobility, these additions offer deeper specialization:

  • Steady Sight & Improved Ironsights for precision handling

  • Lightweight Frame & Steering Angle Tuning for superior vehicle control

  • Fortified Electronics to harden your assets against disruption

Expanding Your Empire: Inventory & Presets

San Paro is about style as much as it is about skill. This update introduces the Han Coywolves ‘Mischief’ and ‘Authority’ presets to refresh your look. To accommodate the growing list of gear, inventory limits have been increased across the board.

Players can now store more weapons, clothing, vehicles, songs, and themes than ever before. New clothing items will continue to roll out via ARMAS in the weeks following the Legends launch.

Quality of Life & Gameplay Balance

To ensure a smoother competitive experience, several key adjustments have been implemented:

  • Map Balancing: The building complex near the Financial skatepark has been adjusted to improve flow for attacking teams

  • Joker Store Update: The Golden OPGL is now available for purchase with Joker Tickets

  • Weapon Tuning: All SBSR weapons have been transitioned to semi-automatic fire

  • Inventory Management: Players can now delete and repurchase unlocked grenades, simplifying loadout organization

Legends will go live on March 27, 2026, with maintenance beginning at 12:00 PM UTC.

Gear up, contact your new handlers, and get back in the game to claim your place among the elite of San Paro.

APB: Reloaded End of Year Update

Hello everybody, We’re long overdue for an update, so as we close out 2025, here an overview of what has been going on behind the scenes.

Networking Update

Late October was a rough month for APB: Reloaded in terms of Networking, so starting November we’ve made the rough decision to swap providers (again) in an effort to stabilize the game so all of you could play without being affected by massive attacks on the old provider’s network unrelated to APB.

For the most part, the initial migration process went smoothly and didn’t come with all too many hiccups. But since November, we have had intermittent issues. As of mid December, we have resolved most of the issues. At this point, we are now just waiting for the last pieces to fall to optimize and improve the overall player experience. We are upgrading routing in some regions which should help with Players having packetloss, and we are bringing the NA East region back online.

In his last AMA, Matt promised to compensate players for all the downtime. We have been waiting for everything to stabilize enough to run a “Compensation Event”.

We’re finally there, and we’re going big. No messing around with Joker Tickets. Just straight extra G1C for you guys.

Running from the 18th of December until the 7th of January players can play up to 100 Missions or Minigames to rack up an extra 1500G1C which will be awarded in the weeks after the Event has ended. To help with tracking this we have added the “Mega Christmas” player role which tracks how many Missions or Minigames you have played during the period - For Maximum rewards players will need to max out this role on one of their characters!

Additionally, all accounts that have logged in during the period in which we were experiencing Networking issues will be awarded 500G1C shortly after the Event starts.

Christmas Mega Event

Christmas is just around the corner and we’ve been working hard on delivering this years Christmas Update for you all.

Similar to last year we’re going to be running Beacon Minigames - Play enough Minigames to max out the new “Eggnogging On Your Door” role which awards Six new Titles, 2400 Joker Tickets and at the highest level the unlock for a two open-slot COBR-A “Venom” allowing players to purchase it from contacts even after the Christmas Event ended.

But that’s not all!

This year will mark the grand return of the “Elf Inflicted Wounds” event - Featuring some of our staff as beefed up Elves that are going to be incredibly hard to kill but it’ll be worth it as players who kill one of the Elves will get to work with our Designer to create a unique Title of their choosing that will only be available to them across their account. So keep an eye out for announcements in our Discord, the Forums as well as in-game Broadcasts on when and where you may encounter one of those elusive Elves.

New Streamer Mode Features!

In addition to new Christmas changes, network upgrades, and Legends - we’ve been working on adding an official “Streamer” mode!

This is something we have wanted to add for a long time, and it needed to be complete prior to the release the Legends Patch. We’re going to release it with the Christmas Event, so we have time to get your feedback and make more tweaks.

These options will be available to all players via the regular Options menu and should provide them with ways to hide anything they do not want to see or hear locally such as:

  • Your own character / account details during the Login process.

  • Character names of other players.

  • Custom Symbols on Player Characters/Vehicles.

  • Custom made songs and death themes.

Additionally many of the Customization options allow you to pick and choose what you want to see on other players such as only disabling Customization from loading for players you have ignored or aren’t your in-game friend.

Not a streamer? We feel like regular players will still benefit from so of these nice Quality of Life changes like disabling obnoxious player-made songs or disabling obscene custom billboard art, so you don’t have to listen or look at it.

Update on “Legends”

Many of you have been eagerly awaiting more information on the next Major Patch “Legends” and we’ve made some progress since the last AMA. Unfortunately the unplanned networking migration put us behind schedule. Our Christmas event will be starting, and we hope to launch Legends in the opening months of 2026.

We know this will be disappointing to many of you, and we are sincerely sorry for the delay. There is a ton of free content in Legends that needs to be implemented and thoroughly tested before we can roll it out.

But we thought we would offer a sneak peak at the opening levels that Zombie/LaRocha will unlock. This doesn’t even include the new EMP grenade unlock, brand new clothing items, mod icons, or filler rewards such as Inventory Extensions just yet!

Heading into the new year

This year has been a bit of a roller coaster for APB:Reloaded so we are thankful to have such an insanely dedicated community that sticks with us through thick and thin - Not many games could have survived the extended Network outage we experienced at the start of the year.

So once more, thank you for your continued dedication, APB: Reloaded wouldn’t be the same game without all of you dedicated players and we can’t wait to share more exciting news such as our plans to market and grow the games population again.

Epidemic Returns: Halloween 2025

Epidemic is returning this year for another run and the dangerous objective remains unchanged: three rival corporations are competing to unleash their deadly pathogens and infect the city's population, turning citizens into mindless zombies. It's a fight for domination, but only one virus will prevail. The question is: which corporation will reign supreme?

Meet the Epidemic Teams: The battle lines are drawn, and three corporations are trying to unleash their deadly toxins across San Paro:

Who do you think will come out on top?

How Epidemic Works:

Epidemic Daily Activities: Daily side tasks and rewards will be randomly assigned when you enter the event. Completing these challenges will help you level your Epidemic 2024 role as well as awarding some extra Joker Tickets for your efforts and spicy new Titles!

Additionally, you may sometimes encounter rare daily activities which are a little harder to complete but award you with the Blue Glow in the Dark Weapon skin or coveted Witches Hat!

Game Goals:

1 Transportation of Toxin Barrels: In the Epidemic District, your team starts in one of three territories—top, bottom left, or bottom right. Your job is to collect toxin barrels from your starting zone and carry them to neutral territories to spread your infection. But beware—these barrels degrade over time and will eventually explode if you don’t act quickly.

Barrels are also vulnerable to enemy attacks, so you’ll need to protect them while transporting. Once you capture a territory, new barrels will spawn there, allowing you to infect even more areas and strengthen your control.

2 Conquer Neutral Territories:

At the beginning of the match, six neutral territories will appear on your map, marked as task checkpoints. Your goal is to capture these zones by placing your team’s toxin barrel within the boundaries. The more areas your team captures, the faster your infection spreads. Reach 100% infection to trigger the final showdown!

3 Protect or Destroy Captured Territories:

Once a toxin barrel is placed in a territory, the borders turn your team’s color, and a large barrel bundle spawns to maintain control of the area. Defend it well, because enemy teams can destroy the bundle to neutralize the territory. The barrels are tough but not invulnerable, and they’re surrounded by toxic gas that harms enemy players, making them tricky to destroy.

End Game: The Battle for Havalynd Central Memorial Park

1 The fight to control Havalynd Central Memorial Park:

The first team to hit 100% infection triggers the final phase of the game—the battle for Havalynd Central Memorial Park. To win, your team must capture and hold this territory.

If the park is neutral, all you need to do is place a small toxin barrel and let the infection take hold. But if an enemy team has already claimed it, you’ll need to neutralize their hold before placing your own barrel. Even if your team hasn’t hit 100% infection yet, you can still try to take control of the park, forcing your rivals to recapture it.

Defend your barrel within the Park’s boundaries from enemy attacks for 90 seconds and secure your team's victory.

Epidemic 2025 Rewards: With this years run of Epidemic players can earn a bunch of new Titles as well as some of the original Epidemics rewards such as two out of the three weapon skins as well as the Epidemic symbols! Additionally, every level of the Epidemic role award you with 250 Joker Tickets as well as Level 8 awarding you the new "Glow in the Dark (White)" Weapon skin!

Following up on feedback this year players no longer need to complete dailies to advance to Epidemic 2025 role but rather just play matches of the game mode!

  • Rank 2: Demonic Title
  • Rank 3: Headhunter Title

15-Year Anniversary Launch Party

We’re excited to announce that the 15-Year Anniversary Patch launches today!

This post will prepare you for what is in store as part of the patch as well as what you should expect going into it.

15-Year Anniversary Event

Better late than never! To celebrate 15-Years of APB: Reloaded we’re introducing the 15-Year Anniversary event role, packed to the brim with Joker Tickets and exclusive Titles.

Additionally log in between now and the 13th of August to earn the "Ladder Climber" Title as a login reward!

Gamersfirst Anti-Cheat (GFAC)

This patch also introduces our in-house Anti-Cheat GFAC - This project has been months in the making and we’re extremely happy to finally get it out the door so we can start tackling the cheating problem head on.

GFAC is made entirely in-house and it has been a significant project. We are dedicated to improving it until we’re satisfied with the results - However, this is entirely new tech and after weeks of testing we are at the stage where we can only move forward by releasing the Anti-Cheat and tackling issues as they occur which could mean that things may be bumpy for the first week or two as we weed through any issues that get reported.

We wouldn’t have been able to get this fair without the help of some very dedicated community members, and now its up to you to jump in and help us push it forward. While we’re going to be watching GFAC closely we would also like to urge all of you to let us know about any issues related to GFAC that you encounter so we can fix said issues them as soon as possible in the dedicated “GFAC Known Issues” thread on both Discord and the Forums!

Leaderboards (Beta)

Todays patch also adds our new Leaderboard System with its first season official starting on the 1st of August!

This is another entirely new system for APB. With that in mind, August is our Leaderboards Beta phase. While we feel we have built something extremely versatile, we need to experiment with what works and what doesn’t over the next few months. We plan to move out of the Leaderboards Beta phase in early 2026 so that we can expand on the system with the things we learned.

Again, this is where you can help us! Feedback will shape this system into being the best it can possibly be so you have any please make sure to submit it in the official Leaderboards feedback threads on both the Forum and Discord!

IMPORTANT PSA: If you are using a config that uses an edited “DefaultEngine.ini” file you will need to either repair your game and redo your DefaultEngine.ini changes in the new file provided or manually edit your existing file and add the following in your [Engine.DataStoreClient] array: +GlobalDataStoreClasses="APBUserInterface.cUIDataStore_Leaderboard”

Not doing so will result in a game crash when opening the Leaderboards UI!

Premium

Todays release also marks the release of our revamped Premium service offering new rewards. You can read all about it in our dedicated blog post from a few weeks ago (https://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/news/2025/6/28/premium-2025) but here is a short summary:

Then we will be working on the finishing touches to the next update titled “Legends” - We understand that our initial target of launching Legends two weeks after the Anniversary was a bit too ambitious so we’re going to monitor how the new features introduced in the Anniversary patch are doing before setting our sights on a potential release date for the Legends patch.

Thank you for being a part of APB: Reloaded and helping shape its legacy over the past 15 years. Log in, check out the event, and don’t miss your chance for exclusive rewards!

Unexpected Downtime and Recovery Update

Hello everyone,

For players who may have missed our updates on social media and updates on our Steam Forums, we want to provide a full recap of what has been happening behind the scenes over the past few weeks and share the latest progress on restoring our servers.

On February 2nd, all three of our world wide data centers went dark and all our servers went offline without notice. We were informed by our primary network hosting provider they had encountered a serious issue requiring an unspecified amount of days to fix. This forced APB:Reloaded and GamersFirst offline. Unfortunately, we were not provided with an ETA at the time, but we immediately began working with our provider to resolve the issue.

After ongoing discussions, we were initially told services would be restored by Friday, February 7th. However, as delays continued, and deadlines were missed, we made the very difficult decision to terminate all services and implement an entirely new hosting solution to regain control over our infrastructure and ensure long-term stability.

This process has involved quickly securing all of our existing servers, acquiring new servers to meet player demand, and kicking off multiple network colocation and transit contracts around the world. Once we secured new servers, our team began working on restoring services. At the same time, we finalized development for what would have been our Valentine's Day event. As promised, this event will be launched for APB Reloaded once the game is back online.

As of right now, here is what we have accomplished for APB Reloaded, Fallen Earth, and GamersFirst:

  • 2/21 (Friday): Network circuits were scheduled for provisioning and activation.

  • 2/24 (Monday): Hosting cabinets were finalized and handed over for setup.

  • Server Racking Begins: We moved and racked all the necessary hardware for both NA and EU data centers.

All servers in North America have been set up, and we are currently waiting for one final part before going live.

In Europe, hardware has been moved to Amsterdam, racked, and plugged in. We are now waiting on circuit activation. Our CEO is currently in Amsterdam, tirelessly overseeing everything to ensure a smooth transition. Our team is actively working on-site in both locations to complete the setup as quickly as possible.

We truly appreciate the patience and support from our dedicated players. This transition has been a massive undertaking, and we are doing everything possible to ensure that APB Reloaded and Fallen Earth return stronger than before.

We are posting regular updates on our Discord, and we welcome everyone to join us there for the latest news and discussions: discord.gg/littleorbit

We will continue providing updates via Steam, Discord, and social media as we approach the final stages of this process.

Thank you for being patient with us and we'll see you back in-game soon!

APB Reloaded v1.32 'Mobilize' goes live!

As the year draws to a close, APB Reloaded v1.32 "Mobilize" delivers a wide range of improvements, new features, and seasonal content. After the significant New Horizon update in August and a return of the 2018 Halloween festivities in October, the focus now turns to refining matchmaking, strengthening anti-cheat measures, and celebrating the holidays in style.

Below are the key highlights and additions included with the "Mobilize" update and the upcoming Holiday 2024 event starting December 18th.

Cross-District Matchmaking

What’s New:

  • Removal of Threat Districts: Traditional threat-based district segregation has been eliminated. Players can now be matched with others across all instances of a specific district type.

  • Easier Access to Matches: Instead of waiting for a full district, players can relax, explore, socialize, or engage in faction-based gameplay. Once a suitable match is found, participants will be seamlessly moved to a new server.

  • Expanding the Player Pool: Previous district caps limited opponents to a small pool. With cross-district matchmaking, the entire player population in the same type of district is now available for match creation, greatly increasing the chances of balanced matches.

Future Plans: The development team intends to enable cross-type district and even cross-world matchmaking, further broadening the player pool and enhancing the overall gameplay experience.

SARD Anti-Cheat Enhancements

Multi-Layered Protection:

  • Real-Time and Daily Detections: All three modes of the new SARD anti-cheat system are now fully online. Some methods provide immediate detections, while others run daily analyses to catch less obvious issues.

  • Refined Ban Policy: Players identified with 100% cheating confidence are subject to discretionary bans. Those with lower-confidence detections accrue “Cheat Points.” These points may lead to restricted matchmaking or limited features until they expire, reducing exposure to suspected cheaters while minimizing false-positive impacts on regular players.

Monitoring and Adjustments: The system will be closely observed, with prompt adjustments made as needed. The goal is to maintain a fair, enjoyable environment for all players.

Holiday 2024 Event: Starting December 18th

This year’s holiday festivities return to the classic spirit of APB: Reloaded’s Christmas events. Progression roles have been tweaked so players can grind at their own pace. New titles, Joker Tickets, and unique weapon unlocks await participants who engage with the various activities and challenges.

The Beacon Festivities:

Five Rotating Minigames: Two new gun games join the rotation

  • “Blast from the Past” Gun Game: Experience legacy weapons with original stats, including minimal sprint delays for high-speed combat.

  • “Redhill Experiments…?” Gun Game: Experiment with absurd weaponry, from the PMG-SD ‘Staple Gun’ to the N-SPiN 3310, and even a Redhill attempt at “Snowparo.”

Returning favorites include:

  • Prototype Testing Grounds – A fan-favorite pushing the limits of regular APB weapon rules.

  • 12 Deaths of Christmas – Classic Gun Game with adjusted mods for smoother play.

  • Snowball Fight! – Faction-based snowball skirmishes using a buffed HohohoPGL.

Elfin’ Around Role:

Participating in Beacon minigames levels the new “Elfin’ Around” role. Progression grants six new titles, 2400 Joker Tickets, and permanent access to lease the DOW Stock NFCP 2 shotgun.

Mission District Mayhem:
  • Seasonal weapons (HohohoPGL and Snowball grenades) will be sent via in-game mail. Use them to progress the returning “Snowball Fight!” Weapon Role in Mission Districts and earn Joker Tickets, new titles, and the Candy Cane weapon skin.

  • Look out for special community-wide Snowball Fights and Gun Games organized by Staff and GMs throughout the holiday season, offering additional Joker Ticket rewards.

Seasonal Vendors:

The Elves have refreshed their stock, allowing players to earn five titles from previous Christmas events and purchase all six Christmas-themed weapon skins for Joker Tickets.

Joker Ticket Store Additions

Wilde at the Joker Distribution Store is expanding the lineup with permanent weapon additions, including:

  • CBMP-45 ‘Arrow’

  • Norseman ‘Hel’

  • Norseman ‘Tyr’

  • Norseman ‘Hoenir’

  • Joker RFP-9-SD “Talon”

  • S-AS PDW “Hotfoot”

These additions are timed perfectly with the surge in Joker Ticket rewards from holiday activities, giving players more options to spend their earnings.

New Legendary Weapon: VBR ‘Enchantress’

The VBR ‘Enchantress’ is a high-mobility, fast-firing, two-shot-to-kill sniper rifle with limited range but superior accuracy on the move. Inspired by the original N-HVR 243 ‘Scout,’ it enhances the jump-shooting dynamic without recreating past balance issues. To fully leverage its mobile accuracy, Hunting Sight 3 is required, ensuring that this Legendary remains balanced and skill-oriented.

APB Reloaded v1.31: New Horizon: Meet Lucas and Lynette

Meet Lucas and Lynette

Introducing Lucas Van Rooyen and Lynette Casey, two fearsome higher-ups in their factions that are looking for new recruits to do their bidding in return for rewards that will help you stay on top of the ever-changing street wars of San Paro.

Unlocking Lucas and Lynette

Unlike previous contacts, Lucas and Lynette are not of the specialist tier, instead, these contacts are positioned a little more in APB Reloaded’s mid-game progression and have 15 levels each which means that these contacts can be unlocked as early as Rank 88 if you focus your efforts on maxing just Blood Rose or Prentiss Tiger contacts!

Unlocking Lucas Van Rooyen requires you to reach level 10 with the following Blood Rose contacts:

  • Tyron Sennet

  • Jeung Bloodrose

Unlocking Lynette Casey requires you to reach level 10 with the following Prentiss Tigers contacts:

  • Chiza

  • Byeong Lee

If you have already maxed out the contacts named above you will be referred to Lucas or Lynette when logging in with your character on Version 1.31 “New Horizon”.

When reaching the maximum level with Lucas Van Rooyen, he will refer you to Michael Simeone. Similarly, reaching the maximum level with Lynette Casey will result in her referring you to Orlenz' Moretti.

Rewards

New contacts bring new rewards, so here’s a quick overview of what Lucas and Lynette have in store for you!

Weapons

The following weapons are available as part of the standard contact progression with Lucas and Lynette:

  • Showstopper Pistol

  • OCA ‘Nano’ Pistol

  • Obeya CAP40-C NFCP 2

  • N-SSW 74 Adeen

  • VBR ‘Temptress’

  • VAS C2 NFCP 1

  • N-TEC 7 Adeen

  • N-HVR 243 ‘Scout’ Nol

If you have maxed out Lucas or Lynette you may also be eligible for a rare daily activity awarding you with the following weapon:

  • N-ISSR-B ‘Recon’

Additionally the following Weapon skins are awarded for reaching the maximum level of Lucas or Lynette:

  • Short Circuit - Blue

  • Short Circuit - Red

  • Short Circuit - Green

Modifications

New contacts are a perfect opportunity to add new modifications and spice up the gameplay, here are three new modifications as well as one returning modification available in v1.31 New Horizon:

  • Display Banner

Orange character mod allows you to place down a large Display Banner with your personal symbol on it! This feature was originally a refer-a-friend reward, and we are bringing it back for those who missed the chance to unlock it previously.

  • Long-Range Rifling

The red weapon modification increases your weapon's effective range by 25% at the cost of reducing the weapon's rate of fire by 10%. Additionally, burst weapons suffer a 20% burst rate penalty for using this mod.

  • Muzzle Brake (Vertical)

Muzzle Brake (Vertical) is a red weapon modification that will reduce the vertical recoil of your weapon by 30% at a minor drawback of increasing horizontal recoil by 7%.

  • Suspension Tuning

Lastly Suspension Tuning, our very first “Tuning” vehicle modification uses a red vehicle modification slot. This modification will decrease the Suspension Stiffness and Damping of your vehicle by 50% with no additional downside. We’re excited to see which cars can use this modification to greatly empower their maneuverability.

These modifications are going to be available for purchase after unlocking them and players will not receive a free version as part of unlocking them as we felt like this behavior should be kept exclusively for Specialist contacts.

Vehicles The following vehicles are unlocked as part of leveling Lucas and Lynette:

  • Growl S3

  • Sungnyemun Mirage S-22

Clothing

Maxing our Lucas or Lynette will award you with their respective outfit as well as Blood Rose/Prentiss Tiger inspired presets using some of our new clothing items such as the Trench Coat. Here’s a sneak peek:

Inventory Expansions More items require you to have more inventory capacity, fortunately, Lucas and Lynette have you covered! Players will be able to earn the following inventory expansions as part of Lucas and Lynette’s contact progression:

  • +5 Vehicle Inventory Space

  • +10 Clothing Inventory Space

  • +5 Symbol Inventory Space

  • +5 Weapon Inventory Space

Preview from Matt: New Horizon

Hi everyone.

It's been quite a while since we have had a new version of APB this large.

So I thought I would take some time to break everything down that is coming over a series of blog posts. But before I do, I want to acknowledge a couple of things about version 1.31.

First, and most importantly, we focused a lot on new free content. It's something I have wanted to do in the past, but for various reasons we haven't been able to. It's a bit of an experiment, as we're now giving away more free items than ever in the regular progression of the game. We took time to identify and fill in gaps for weapons and vehicles that otherwise weren't available.

Second, this patch brings together content and features that have been in the development for a while. Honestly, it sort of snowballed. As the weeks and months have passed, more and more items have been pushed into this new version. As the name implies, we're hoping New Horizon sets a new bar for APB and offers a "jumping on point" for many players who have felt there was nothing new in the game.

Third, there was a lot of R&D required for this patch. Little Orbit has never added contacts to the game or modified any of the district geometry. In some cases, we had to write entirely new plugins to build compatibility between APB and newer modeling systems. We've also had layoffs, so there was some retraining required to even do some of the things we've already done in the past. Regardless, I feel like our progress will enable updates like to happen a bit more quickly going forward.

Lastly, we are in final testing on many of the components in this patch, but it is our goal to launch Version 1.31 New Horizon in the next couple of weeks.

With that out of the way, let's jump into what is coming.

Major Additions

  • (2) New Contacts - Lucas 'Van' Rooyen and Lynette Casey

These two fearsome higher-ups in their factions are looking for new recruits to do their bidding in return for rewards that will help you stay on top of the ever-changing street wars of San Paro. Both of these characters have been in the APB lore for quite a while, and it was important to me that their rewards and storylines feel on par with other contacts that were already in the game. I will be posting a separate News blog with a full run-down of Lucas and Lynette's rewards soon.

  • SARD Anti-Cheat

APB has had many different integrations in the past, but I felt it was important to take the proper time to evaluate both old and new solutions. This time around, I had two major criteria: (1) client and server side support and (2) custom integration where Little Orbit collects the penalty information, but we apply our own rules on how to handle cheaters. The team at SARD has been fantastic to work with, and after months of development, we are finally ready to launch.

  • Re-distribution of contact rewards and lowered all mod Rank requirements

We feel this is a significant quality of life improvement. We decided to lower the Rank requirements for R195l mods to level the playing field between older and newer characters. With that same goal in mind, we also identified gaps in the vehicle progression and redistributed vehicles to unlock more cars sooner. And finally, we added missing weapons like the Showstopper, the NTEC 7c, and the N-HVR '243' 'Scout' to the player progression.

  • Changes to the Waterfront

We knew we couldn't launch two new Waterfront contacts without addressing some of the player complaints about that district. We've added more cover around common spawn areas and objective locations as well as more access routes to spots that were previously very hard to attack. These edits are still be completed, so I will be posting a separate News blog with the new changes to Waterfront soon.

  • The ISSR-C 'Kingdom' Legendary

We decided to have a little fun and also add a new legendary. The ISSR-C 'Kingdom' is RedHill Homeland Defense's new cutting-edge, fast, short-ranged burst rifle made up from parts of Nekrova's infamous ISSR weapon series with an integrated RedHill burst module. Its quick four-round bursts make it suitable for close to medium-range fights whilst retaining Nekrova's trademark of deadly accuracy. ** Full Patch Notes:**

  • Added two new Tier 4 Contacts to the Waterfront district.

  • Added three new modifications.

  • Added many new clothing items for both body types.

  • Added SARD Anti-Cheat.

  • Reworked many areas of the Waterfront district to improve gameplay.

  • Added the ISSR-C 'Kingdom' burst rifle as a new Legendary gun available for purchase at Anne inside the Joker Store through Joker Tickets.

  • Changed the Rank requirement of all mods that previously required a Character Rating of 195 or above. These mods will now have a Rank Requirement of R40, 60, or 80 and cost 20.000, 40.000, and 60.000 APB$ respectively.

  • Increased the range in which Mobile Spawn Points become invalid from 35m to 55m.

  • Decreased the Health and Stamina damage to the DMR-AV Sniper Rifle to decrease the range in which it can Kill in two shots from 88-100m to 95-100m. The ability to stun in two shots has been removed entirely. The DMR-SD is unaffected by these changes.

  • Decreased the range of the OBIR by 5 meters. We are going to revisit this change once we are closer to making larger balance adjustments but we feel like the gun is currently too dominant and would like to address that for the time being.

  • Added 3-Point Sling 3 to the ARMAS and Joker Store versions of the non-legendary Showstopper Pistol and renamed it to Showstopper 'Quickdraw'.

  • The following vehicles unlock their 0 to 4-slot versions one entire Contact Tier sooner.

  • Balkan Varzuga

  • Balkan Ravan

  • Macchina Calabria

  • Macchina Cosenza

  • Packer Ceresco

  • Retroactively added the following vehicles to late-game contact progression:

  • Growl S4

  • [Dolton Fresno D400

  • Charge Sentinel CS904

  • Dolton Montane D230

  • Dolton Montane D430

  • Balkan Varzuga Rally 353 XS

  • The Sungnyemun Mirage now supports primary and secondary police lights.

  • Fixed various LOD issues of the Sungnyemun Mirage.

  • Fixed multiple minor issues of the Sungnyemun Mirage.

  • Added the Mirage 'Sundown' and 'Horizon' presets to the Joker Ticket Store. These were designed by an awesome community member that goes by the name of ElinSylwiaVT.

More to come.

Thanks, Matt

UNVALENTINE PATCH ANNOUNCEMENT

Hello everyone,

A new patch is going up onto the Live servers. This patch will be happening on Wednesday 2/28/2024. The patch is scheduled to start at 9 AM UTC and will last up to 10 hours.

PC CHANGES/FIXES

  • The Valentines day event has come to an end.

  • Fixed a bug with backup permutation creation creating far less amounts of combinations than it should.

  • Slightly optimized standard permutation creation by removing the shuffle of available players, since this may be causing erratic wait times for players during same-district matching.

  • Added an experimental "Low population mode" that activates once the world server of a region is below a certain amount of players and should allow players to get opposition after waiting for a certain period of time regardless of match quality.

  • Fixed a potential district server crash.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the OBIR JT3 to disappear from the JT store and reward mails.

Honoring Gamers & Developers

Do you remember the experience of trying a video game for the first time: A wave of excitement and happiness as you traversed a pixelated world brought to you by unsung hero developers of your childhood?

Go with us down memory lane as we celebrate this September week in honor of all game developers and their creations. From the 11th of September, 9 AM UTC, to the 20th of September, 9 AM UTC, we are hosting a special sale with discounts on select Account Lifetime weapons and Joker Tickets. The sale will also introduce a new variant of a beloved weapon.

_Musings from the waterfront…

The CSA has repossessed a weapons storage garage - rumored to belong to the leader of the Blood Roses…

The weapons were held for auction, and the ARMAS Marketplace was the highest bidder. One of the weapons found was that of a Colby CSG-20, which seemed to be altered in a way that allowed for a single modification. Through reverse engineering in coordination with Redhill, the ARMAS Marketplace was able to make a replica of the weapon - though the weapon is expensive to make, and their partnership with Redhill has stipulations on the contract’s length._

For a limited time, you can reap the rewards of their efforts, and the “Colby CSG-20 Mk2” is now available for the duration of the sale!

Additionally, the ARMAS Marketplace has also discounted select Account Lifetime weapons and purchases of Joker Tickets, so don't miss this amazing limited-time offer.

Patch Notes 1.30.0.839845

A patch is going up on the Live servers for PC. This patch will be happening on Thursday 4/27/2023. The patch is scheduled to start at 2am PT / 9AM UTC and will last 4-6 hours.

GENERAL CHANGES:

  • Easy Anti Cheat is now fully implemented in APB! Launching the game will install EAC automatically. Please continue to use the /report command to report cheaters, as always!

  • Players can now choose to disable fog. This option can be found in the Advanced Video settings (note that keeping fog enabled slightly impacts performance)

  • Day/Night cycle added back to Asylum

  • Added the ability to disable Muzzle Flash and Magazine Casings. These options are in DefaultGame.ini, under APBGame.cVisualFX_Weapon called:

  • m_bEnableMuzzleFlash=true

  • m_bEnableMagazineCasings=true

BALANCE CHANGES:

  • Previously when nerfing the Colby .45, an extra 5m was accidentally taken off the range. After testing we’ve decided to keep this, meaning the Colby .45’s range will stay at 45m.

  • Vaquero Gear 5 Topspeed increased: 1700 -> 2200

  • Coywolf VIP torque slowdown adjusted: 0.8 -> 0.94 (fixes ineffective modifier)

  • FAR jump modifier changed: 20 -> 15

BUG FIXES:

  • Implemented a fix for the ‘car bug' (the issue where exiting a car while drifting caused players to visually desync for everyone else)

  • Fixed an exploit involving objectives and crouching at the same time

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • The achievement “Kind of a Big Deal” does not increment if you are already gold threat and your character existed after your account achieved gold threat

  • Stalls can occur upon entering the Clothing Kiosk with “NEW!” items

  • Tattoo layers are inversed, meaning tattoos lower on the list will cover ones above

Patch Notes 1.30.0.839648

GENERAL CHANGES: We are saying goodbye to the Easter Bunny. We will conclude the Easter Event and revert districts to their normal state.

BALANCE CHANGES:

  • We moderately decreased the effective and max falloff range of the Colby .45 AP.

  • We adjusted the STAR's jump modifier from 30 to 10. This adjustment should improve the players' experience while running and gunning with the weapon.

  • We adjusted the STAR LCR's jump modifier from 13 to 10, keeping in line with the STAR it is based on.

  • The FAR's jump modifier has been adjusted from 30 to 20. The adjustment places it between the NTEC's and the STAR's.

  • Mikro and Vaquero (Enforcer / Criminal Compact) car's top speed has been adjusted slightly: from 19.5 to 20.5.

  • Mikro's reverse speed has been adjusted from 13 to 15, making it equal to the Vaquero's.

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • The achievement "Kind of a Big Deal" does not increment if you are already threat level gold and if your character existed after your account achieved the threat level gold.

  • Stalls can occur upon entering the Clothing Kiosk with "NEW!" items.

  • In bomb missions, bombs will hit 0 but not count as "exploded" if the player who planted them is removed during a mission.

Patch Notes for 1.30.0.839493 (1369)

BUG FIXES:

  • Joker Ammo vending machines are no longer spammy metal monsters. We squashed the loud and obnoxious vocal bug.

  • Some in-game roles would not give a proper visual representation of a player's progress, but we have resolved this issue in the meantime! You should no longer be able to see awkwardly stacked progression counters.

  • It seems we have had an issue with cars going off-road. The fix has been implemented, and sending your vehicle out of bounds should no longer cause server issues.

  • We have significantly mitigated the issue of character positioning when getting out of their vehicle. They would occasionally be seen exiting their cars and assuming the wrong model position, and we said: "Absolutely not!" There could still be a few occasions where you may encounter this issue, but they are few and far between.

KNOWN ISSUES:

  • The achievement "Kind of a Big Deal" lives up to its name and remains a big deal. The achievement won't track properly even if the player has reached threat level gold.

  • Stalls can occur upon entering the Clothing Kiosk with "NEW!" items.

Patch Notes for 1.30.0.838866 (1355)

BUG FIXES: Fixed one of the two ways in which Joker Ammo machines can duplicate their audio. Valentine's Day 2023 titles have had their proper pink flare applied to the title.

NEW CONTENT: Joker Store changes: Added the following early progression mods for purchase with a rank requirement of None:

  • Kevlar 1
  • Kevlar 2
  • Kevlar 3
  • Clotting Agent 1
  • Clotting Agent 2
  • Clotting Agent 3
  • Happy Landings 1
  • Happy Landings 2
  • Happy Landings 3

These mods are available for 3 Day or 7-day leasing. This is an experiment for additional Joker Store content aimed at new players, or veteran players who wish to buy these items on their alts that may not have completed progression. The hope is that a small purchase price or the grind is preferable to 'sludging through' early progression where you may not have these modifications available. If this experiment is successful, we will expand this system in the future to rentals of weapons and Vehicle modifications. We will be monitoring feedback after this patch.

Joker Store Character, Weapon, and Vehicle modifications have a new pricing scheme across the board. Existing "Tier 4" (or 195+) mods are unchanged and the math for previous tiers is based on the existing 'most expensive' Tier 4 lease. Existing Joker Store Character, Weapon, and Vehicle modifications now contain 3 Day lease options that are slightly less discounted compared to their 7 Day counterparts. New pricing scheme: Tier 1: 3 Day = 100 (new), 7 Day = 150 (new) Tier 2: 3 Day = 120 (new), 7 Day = 185 (new) Tier 3: 3 Day = 140 (new), 7 Day = 215 (new) Tier 4: 3 Day = 160 (new), 7 Day = 250 (unchanged)

UN-VALENTINES VDay 2023 has ended. We're no longer seeking love and have gone back to normal City Security Act business, which is a lot less lovely.

KNOWN ISSUES: There is still one method in which a Joker Ammo machine's looping audio may break, and we are investigating.

FUNCTIONALITY REMINDER:

  • POWER USERS: With the release of 1.30, you are now able to adjust your clients’ frames per second (FPS) cap on your own. We do not currently have a UI for this functionality, however, you may manually adjust specific configuration files.

  • Launch APB: Reloaded at least once after you have installed the 1.30 update.

  • Close the game.

  • Navigate to your APB install directory.

  • For Steam users, this is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common by default.

  • For GamersFirst users, the folder is located at C:\Program Files (x86)\GamersFirst\Binaries\APB Reloaded\ by default.

  • Within this folder, navigate to “APBGame\Config” after patching the game, and open the file called "APBEngine.ini".

  • Within this file, search for the following section: [Engine.GameEngine]

  • There are two cap types that are able to be modified in this file: "MaxClientFrameRate", and “MaxSmoothedFrameRate”. Both of these correspond to the “Smooth Framerate” option in the game’s in-game options.

  • MaxClientFrameRate may be 0 (uncapped), or any value above MaxSmoothedFrameRate.

  • MaxSmoothedFrameRate may be any value up to 128.

  • Raising your FPS cap above 145 will worsen existing issues related to running above 128 fps worse – although a common bug known as sliding will happen if your fps is too stable at your current selected cap.

  • Additionally, there is an issue related to high framerates that causes your crosshair to expand with an inaccurate accuracy value. However, this is a purely visual bug, and does not actually affect accuracy.

APB 1.30 is now Live!

APB: Reloaded has been upgraded to 64bit as part of version 1.30! It’s finally here! The upgrade to 64bit should result in better performance for a majority and, in the long run, allow the team to upgrade, fix, and improve the game further.

The Valentine’s Day event for 2023, “Seeking Love”, is now active! More information here: https://www.gamersfirst.com/apb/news/2023/2/7/v-day-2023

BUG FIXES:

  • A graphical glitch and potential crash vector related to the Blowtorch modification has been addressed.

FUNCTIONALITY:

1.30 KNOWN ISSUES:

  • There is a rare crash related to using Fullscreen mode and switching to other windows, commonly known as ‘alt tabbing’, especially when respawning after death.

  • Additionally, swapping between windows in Fullscreen mode may result in performance degradation over time.

  • We recommend that players temporarily use the “Fullscreen Windowed” or “Windowed” mode until we address the above two issues properly.

  • There is a known issue involving some types of environmental sounds missing appropriate volume levels, as well as an issue with Joker Ammo boxes repeating their lines too often.

  • Some districts may have incorrect lighting and shadows projected from objects that may not exist.

  • On first launch of 1.30, players may receive errors such as, “Battleye failed to install” or an “insufficient permission” issue upon launching the game. Performing the “Repair” option on the APB Launcher application may solve these issues.

We will be addressing the above issues in the weeks to follow as those fixes are available. We apologize for any inconvenience they may have caused.

Legendary Beta announcement

You've already read about our 10th anniversary celebration. Now, we want to make the last two very big announcements that will coincide with that event. To start, we are fundamentally changing our monetization model by removing JMBs and allowing you to rent and obtain Legendaries with in-game Joker Tickets. Alongside these changes, we are going to start the public Open Beta for the new engine on Saturday, June 6/27. Be sure to read to the end of this post to catch it all!

On 6/10, Joker Gunworks started renovating gun rentals, but there's one legendary surprise they saved for last!

After our last update, you may have spotted Anne Partridge lurking around the Joker Store. She's been on the run from RedHill and keeping things quiet, but now she's ready to don her uniform and trade her hacking skills in for Joker Gunworks' protection.

Starting June 24, when you go into the Joker Store, Anne will be your official liaison for all those black-market deals Joker would prefer to keep off the books. She's been hacking shipments to secure more of the prototype parts and weapons they use to supply Legendaries to the public, so now she can make them available for valued Joker Gunworks customers to rent all the time.

Let's take a look!

There are a few things to note about this new menu. First, you can now rent Legendaries with Joker Tickets directly from the in-game Joker Store instead of going through ARMAS. Paying the rental price will unlock the Legendary for 7 days, which means you can try them out and see what matches your playstyle the best.

Anne likes repeat business and she likes to tease her customers. Occasionally, she'll make a "mistake" and not log that you rented the gun. Then you get to keep it for good. This means that, each time you rent from her, you have a 5% chance to permanently unlock that same Legendary for good. Once it's yours, that character can keep it, trade it, or sell it - whatever you want!

But what happens if you don't get lucky?

Don't worry, Anne has you covered! If you test a Legendary enough times, she'll give you the gun anyway as thanks for all the valuable field data you've collected. Here's how it works:

You may have noticed those green bars in the first menu we showed you. With Joker Gunworks' rental loyalty program, each rental where you don't get a permanent drop will fill that green bar slightly. Once a bar is completely full (around 20 rentals without a permanent unlock), your next rental is a guaranteed permanent drop! Whenever you get a permanent version, the bar is reset. For the first time ever, players can save up Joker Tickets to play with Legendaries!

As part of this change, we are finally retiring the Joker Mystery Boxes from ARMAS. We are moving away from loot boxes that never guarantee anything and often result in junk rewards you didn't want. Starting June 24th, if you want to speed things up, you can directly purchase bundles of Joker Tickets from ARMAS at a rate of 100G1C for 500JT.

As a thank you for your support, you get a bonus 1% chance at a permanent Legendary gun from the entire pool for each 500 Joker Tickets that you purchase this way. The advantage of this system is that we get to keep the jackpot moments that you guys love with absolutely no downside. You will always get the exact value for your money, and if you don't get the bonus, you can still use those Joker Tickets you purchased to get the exact Legendary that you want.

We hope that this new system will empower both new and old players to progress the way they want in APB. Whether you build up Joker Tickets through play or support us directly through purchases, all our guns now have a path for you to rent, try, and eventually own.

We are finally ready to open the Beta client to you all!

Our first Open Beta will run from 11am-2pm Pacific on Saturday, June 27th. It will have two districts available for you to use - Social and Asylum. To join, you will need to download the Beta client here and log in using your existing APB account. Please note that we will continue to update the client as we gear up for this test. If you have a limited connection, you may want to hold off downloading the client until Friday.

The first time you enter, we will copy over your characters from Live so you can try out the build for yourself.

Here are some things to remember when playing the Open Beta:

  • When selecting a district, the client will automatically connect you to the region with the best ping for you. If you want to change your region manually, you can do so by going to the "advanced tab." Players from Jericho and Citadel can mix and match on any server they want.

  • The numbers you use for mouse sensitivity and handling in the Live client will not be the same as what you need to use in the Beta. Because numbers scale differently in the new client, we can't give you a 1:1 conversion for your settings. Please experiment and find what numbers feel best for you.

  • Finally, please remember that this is a Beta! Things will break. In fact, we hope you guys will help us stress the heck out of this build. Every issue you find and report brings us one step closer to the Full release, so please be sure to get us all your feedback on the forums. Below are some instructions on where and how to do that in a constructive manner.

LEAVING FEEDBACK

Once you've had a chance to try things out, we'd love to hear from you.

We've made a dedicated section on the forums where you can go to let us know what you think, check out our known issues, and leave any bugs you might find. You can check that out here. Please be sure to leave your feedback in this new section and not in the forum's Social District section. There's a lot of stuff to unpack with the Beta, and we want to make sure we hear from every one of you. Posting in the right place will ensure your voice is heard.

This beta test is just one stop on our road to a Full Release, but it is an important one. Thank you for your patience on this journey, and we hope you will join us for this latest milestone.
