New Assignment: Burn Run (Launch)
Get pumped in Avalon with the new Burn Run Assignment, challenging Operators to a race against the clock in a bomb-rigged vehicle that’s ready to explode. As the music rages on, step on the gas and pass through all thirty arches, each one embroiled in flames so you know exactly where to go.
The pathway is littered with Fear enemies and objects; run them over to add additional seconds to the clock and seek out bonuses like repair wrenches and speed boosts to keep your vehicle in working order as you blast through the racecourse. Keep your eyes on the road, hit everything in your path, and get to the destination.
Exotic Ability Boosts (Launch)
Upgrade your Major and Minor Abilities with new, rare enhancements that can be acquired in the match, further empowering them with advantages including reduced cooldown times, extra ammo, the chance to inflict additional damage types, and other bonuses improving their effectiveness in the field.
Found in item cases, Ability Boosts are mixed in with other reward types and are chosen based on your currently equipped Major and Minor Ability. Though Ability Boosts have a small chance to drop in Zone IV regions, they are primarily found in Nightmare locations. Open your Tac Map and check the rewards list of various Nightmare level Activities and Assignments to discover where you have the best chance of discovering them.
Each Major and Minor Ability has two Exotic Ability boosts to choose from. Once acquired, the Ability Boost will remain until you either wipe or swap out the affected Ability.
Free to Play Throughout S05

Multiplayer Maps
Jubilee (Launch)
Brand-New, 6v6, Medium-Sized
Fight through a rural Japanese town as a festival turns to chaos and the streets erupt in conflict. Battle in the front courtyard of the Palace museum, explore local cuisine in the pop-up Festival, and test your luck in the pachinko room offering low and standard rates. For a more scenic path, traverse the outer Garden running behind residential spaces above street level.
For long-ranged skirmishes, head down the central Main Street running down the length of the map where scattered vehicles provide some cover throughout. For tighter encounters, flank out to the sides where there’s a greater mix of sightlines, giving every playstyle a chance to shine in the celebratory scene.
Frequency (Launch)
Remaster, 6v6, Medium-Sized
First introduced in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Frequency returns fully remastered with greater detail than ever before. Deploy deep into the mountains of Hunan where Operators engage in constant battle over control of the listening station’s global surveillance capabilities.
Take in the sights along the outer platform as you battle down the infamous Catwalk and Pipes sections on the perimeter, or head inside the facility for close-quarters action in the Surveillance room and amongst the Servers. The map opens up in the middle with skirmishes breaking out all around the circular pathway; drop down into the Maintenance area to travel below the path. Whatever your approach, make liberal use of the Wall Jump for new angles of attack while throwing off the enemy’s aim.
Dig (Launch)
Remaster, 6v6, Small-Sized
Following its debut in Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Dig returns in remastered form, sending Operators to an archaeological dig site in Avalon where rival forces clash over what lies beneath. With the enhanced movement of Black Ops 7, now’s your chance to experience the map like never before.
Battle along exposed ruins with bas-reliefs of ancient battles and statues commemorating long forgotten figures. Featuring a roughly rectangular layout, the map is full of equipment and scaffolding to repair the crumbling architecture, creating a myriad of narrow, twisting routes that occasionally open up onto long distance vantage points, pits dug into the ground, secret passageways, and flanking routes that are ideal for setting up ambush.
Turbo Tilt (Mid-Season)
Brand-New, 6v6/2v2, Small-Sized
Shrink down to size and battle inside the Nuketown Turbo Era Rampage pinball machine in Turbo Tilt, a wild Mid-Season Multiplayer map inspired by the history of Nuketown. Encounter a lit up mushroom cloud in the center where a boulder sized pinball occasionally passes through crushing unlucky Operators in its path. Take cover behind bumpers and flippers and fire from the upper window of the Green House just like in the original. Push the opposition, obtain a high score, and finish the match in style.
Freerun: Descent (Mid-Season)
Brand-New
The Guild expects nothing less than the absolute best from its pool of Operators, and that begins with training as the company brings a new obstacle course into play. Jump, dive, slide, and more across an all-new Freerun map arriving in the Mid-Season.
Multiplayer Limited-Time Modes
Overdrive Domination (Launch)
New Mode (Moshpit)
Domination comes to Overdrive bringing an objective-based twist to the high-octane game mode. Capture, hold, and defend objectives while eliminating targets with style to earn stars for your team.
Earn additional stars for impressive Eliminations based on the following criteria:
-
Earn 1 star for Basic Eliminations.
-
Earn 2 stars for Core Medal Eliminations.
-
Earn 3 stars for completing Distinguished Medal Eliminations.
Earning stars grants special Operator bonuses, as follows:
-
1 Star: Cognition Uplink: Increased perception to help you find your next target.
-
3 Stars: Hyper Speed: Increased movement speed to reach your target faster.
-
6 Stars: Ballistic Overdrive: Increased weapons handling to help you eliminate your target.
Stay in the fight to keep your star counter climbing. If you are eliminated or wait too long between actions, your star count will return to zero. Operators who manage to achieve six stars in a single combo will trigger Overdrive, doubling all earned stars while active.
Gauntlet Rush (Launch)
New Mode
Keep pushing and don’t let up in the new Gauntlet Rush mode, rewarding Operators who constantly engage the enemy and complete objectives across a rotating set of five modes: Team Deathmatch, Kill Confirmed, Domination, Hardpoint, and Roulette.
Each game mode lasts for two minutes before seamlessly switching to the next one within the same map to keep the action hot. Eliminate enemies and play the objective to rev up toward Operator enhancements including faster movement speed, weapon swap speed, and improved headshot damage.
Check the lower lefthand corner of your HUD to see how close you are to earning the next buff; the gauge drops if you fail to engage the next target or objective quickly enough, so stay active and reap the rewards. Throughout the match, look out for Gain Stacks that drop in the environment, providing a huge score boost to help reach that next devastating Scorestreak.
Cranked Moshpit (Mid-Season)
Returning Mode
Turn up the heat with the debut of Cranked in Black Ops 7. Eliminate enemies to activate the Cranked timer and earn buffs like faster movement, reload speed, and other upgrades. Your life ends when the timer does, so keep it active through constant slaying. Hit zero and you explode.
