Dragoneer’s Advent Update

A new era begins today, Dragoneers—a chance to prove yourself, to rise, and to claim what’s yours.

We are thrilled to unveil the** details of today’s major update**!

It introduces:

  • A new FREE progression system with a dedicated menu and an impressive set of 50 new rewards to unlock

  • Changes to the Quests structure, including a new menu

  • UI Improvements & Adjustments

  • Balancing changes to the PvP sandbox

  • Exciting new shop items

  • Bug fixes

New Dragoneer Level progression system

The Dragoneer Level is a brand-new progression system that will now serve as your main level in the game. It’s a single unified progression path, free for all players, designed to reward your performance, time, and dedication across various game modes.

Importantly, the Dragoneer Level does not replace the current Dragon Pass. Instead, it works alongside it, allowing you to progress through both systems simultaneously. Play matches, complete quests, earn XP, and claim rewards as you reach each new level.

We have already teased a few rewards coming with the Dragoneer Level system - now it’s time to show you a few more:

Quests Restructuring

The Quests menu, which was previously part of the Dragon Pass tab, has now been moved to its own dedicated section and introduces an updated structure for weekly quests.

Previously, weekly quests were cumulative and shared across all players. To put all players on equal footing, they now reset each week and are randomized for each player, similar to how daily quests currently work. Daily and Weekly Objectives still remain to get some nice chunks of XP to level up the Dragoneer Level and the Dragon Pass.

As a result of these changes:

  • The “Quests” sub-tab has been removed from the Dragon Pass tab

  • The new Quests Menu can now be accessed directly from the Main Menu - as it was before - but with an improved interaction area for mouse users

  • The Treasure Quest can also been seen in the Quests Menu

  • And speaking of the Treasure Quest, it can be progressed during the week instead of only weekends!

  • The previously assigned shortcut key for opening the Quests menu will now open the “Dragoneer Level” menu instead

UI Improvements & Adjustments

Main Menu

Main Menu has received a few not significant, but still noticeable, adjustments that you will see right after launching the game. These changes include:

  • The** top-right level progression section now displays your Dragoneer Level **instead of your Dragon Pass. As a result, all players will see Level 1 there after updating the game. Your Dragon Pass level will now be shown in a separate section below.

  • The "Dragon Pass" section has been more visually separated from the Quests section and now includes: An icon representing your current Dragon Pass level and a progression bar with accompanying text showing how much XP is needed to reach the next level.

  • **Your Dragon Pass level icon **is now also visible next to its corresponding tab in the top navigation menu.

  • The "Quests" section now shows a reset timer for all three quest types.

  • The Leaderboard shortcut has been removed from the Main Menu. You can still access the Leaderboard through the Ranked section of the “Play” tab.

  • The "XP Boosters" section has been moved to the left side of the screen, just below the "Play" button, with a slight UI redesign.

  • The "Treasure Chests" section has been slightly lowered as a result of the above changes.

                                                                                 (Before)

                                                                                 (After)

Profile Menu

In line with the new progression system changes to the Main Menu, the Profile Menu now includes a dedicated Dragoneer Level section, alongside the existing Dragon Pass section.

This new section will display the following:

  • Your current Dragoneer Level icon with a progress bar

  • Text indicating how much XP is needed to reach the next level

  • A preview of the reward you will earn upon leveling up

  • A "Rewards" button, which replaces the former "More Info" button and redirects you to the “Dragoneer Level” menu

Additionally, your Dragon Pass level icon will now appear next to the current season title for better visibility.

                                                                               (Before)

                                                                               (After)

New “Dragoneer Level” Menu

This new menu is dedicated exclusively to display all Dragoneer Level rewards. You can access it two ways:

  • Proceed to Profile Menu and select “Rewards”

  • Select “Dragoneer Level” section in top right corner which is now interactable

XP Distribution Screen

This screen has experienced 2 changes:

  • Added a new Dragoneer Level progression section with its related information and rewards

  • Rewards obtained by leveling up in the Dragon Pass or the Dragoneer Level will be displayed after the complete XP Distribution.

Season 2: The Fate of Dragons

The time has finally come, dragonners. As Spring blooms life anew, Season 2 has taken root in Century with a nature-based character class and a treasure of new content. Full details below!

**Added content **

  • Rider Class: Thornweaver

  • Map: Eliean Càirn

  • Dragon Pass with themed dragons, weapons, armour and more

  • Story Arc unfolding in 8 Tomes

  • Ranked Season

New Class: The Thornweaver Living peacefully in a cradle of forest hidden from known civilisations, Thornweavers are an elite force who have sworn to keep the balance with nature and dragons. Their willowy sylvian composition and symbiosis with the elements allows them to summon elder forces, and unleash devastating Nature-based attacks upon their enemies.

Century's fifth character class can now be unlocked in the store for 800 Gems or 20,000 Iron Coins.

Abilities:

  • Numbing Retaliation (Passive): Accumulates charges. Upon taking direct damage, releases slowing projectiles towards a nearby enemy based on the number of charges.

  • Verdant Bulwark (Power): Enter a defensive stance, reducing incoming damage. Press the power button again to release poisonous spikes towards nearby enemies, up to 2 times.

  • Verdant Bastion (Rage): Enhances Verdant Bulwark for a brief time, further reducing the damage you take, increasing your movement speed and allowing you to release unlimited poisonous spikes.

  • Bramble Wall (Ability): Launches a projectile that releases a wall of thorns blocking your enemies' path. The Wall is released upon colliding with a surface, or pressing the ability button a second time when close to one.

New Dragons: the Vinedrakes Season 2 also introduces a new species of dragons deeply intertwined with the new Thornweaver class. Vinedrakes acquire their particular shape through symbiosis with their rider, and don’t be fooled by their bark-like skin for its robustness and speed have brought many to their doom.

Many different variants of the Vinedrake roam the world of Century, and you’ll get the chance to tame them for the very first time through the Dragon Pass!

Roaming freely in the backwoods of the Cradle, young Vinedrakes will sometimes hear a silent call coming from a Nassyan child ready for the Blooming Ritual. Upon completing it, a Thornweaver and their Vinedrake are bonded for life.

Dragon Pass: A treasure of rewards New season also means new loot! More than 70 themed rewards will be up for grabs through the Season 2 DragonPass, including epic and legendary dragons for all classes, weapons, armor pieces, player customisations and in-game currency.

This new Dragon Pass relies on the same system as the previous season, where you’ll have to complete missions to earn Levels and Stars. Levels will unlock the rewards tiers in the Dragon Pass, and stars can be spent to buy rewards.

New Map: Eilean Càirn Players who have mastered the corridors of the Hünavatn Lake are up for a new challenge, as Season 2 introduces a overhaul of this classic map in the Eilean Càirn. This abandoned outpost reclaimed by nature is boasting open areas for high speed chases, tunnels for close quarter combat, air flow boosts and hiding areas for dragoneers to engage in their chosen battle patterns. Our team has reshaped the fly paths with outgrown vegetation, which now makes this map a perfect hunting ground for those who will master the Thornweaver’s attacks!

The Lore of Season 2 This time, the story of Season 2 takes players to a whole different part of the continent and introduces two new civilizations that’ll play a key role in the future of relationships between riders and dragons. Each chapter of the lore will be available to everyone for free in the Dragon Pass interface and will unlock on a regular basis.

“Dragons and humans maintain a sacred balance, woven centuries ago. But it only takes a spark to light a fire… Far in the northern cliffs of the Narairim Trench, an assembly of dissidents born from their ashes carries an extreme vision of dragoneering. Like a poison running deep through veins, their influence is spreading. Hope resides on the shoulders of a tribe that once learned to live in symbiosis with dragons. Hidden in lush forests deep beyond the Kärsk Frontier, this peaceful civilization is now lost to the tides of time. Two worlds are about to collide, forging the fate of dragoneering for years to come.”

More to come Season 2 will also introduce groundbreaking changes - including events, an overhaul of the acceleration, field of view and brake systems, a rework of the rage, HUD, and more. Additionally, players will be happy to know that we are leaning towards reintroducing an overarching progression path that would come on top of the seasonal progression. It’s currently under production and we will give more details as soon as we can. As usual, we rely on your feedback to help us constantly improve everyone’s experience. We will even launch a community survey no later than this week to get your opinion on several potential events our team is currently designing.

We hope you’ll enjoy all the content of Season 2 and will be seeing you on the battlefield. Go, fly, burn your enemies and fight it out to bring back the peace between civilizations and dragons!

Game Update - Permanent PvE

🔥 01/02/23 Game Update - Permanent PvE 🔥

Hear ye hear ye Dragoneers,

We are pleased to announce that the Outbreak PvE game mode is back as a permanent game mode with more content! From now, both PvP and PvE will grow together and offer players the best of both worlds. But there’s more to this update… Including a Lunar New Year skin and UI upgrades. Read on for all the deets!

PvE updates:

  • Outbreak game mode added to the permanent slots

  • New minion types: Blast & Bomber minions

  • New upgrade: Tower Heal Dragon

  • Reroll option in the upgrade shop

Other changes:

  • New PvE daily missions

  • Class customization UI rework

  • Community Players Icons (available for free in the shop)

  • Tutorial tweaked

  • Shop readability upgrade

  • Lunar New Year skin (Windguard, Unique)

  • Wall damage is back!

We know that for PvE to become a continuously enjoyable mode in the long run we would need to add more mobs variety… So behold two new frenemies: the Blast & Bomber minions! 💥 The first one will repel you when flying too close to it when it bursts, protecting its fellow invaders. The second one is more of a wandering bomb that can be useful when killed at the right time and at the right distance… Watch out for these two and use them wisely to overthrow the Parasite Queen.

We also want to make a deeper upgrade system, starting with the Tower Heal Dragon: an upgrade that gives you a chance to meet a green ethereal dragon at the start of the next wave. If you catch them before they leave the map, your towers will get healed!

Finally we wanted to add an option to avoid frustration of getting unneeded upgrades. From now on, you’ll be able to reroll the shown upgrades! It will only cost you a bit of gold… A fair price for messing with fate! 🔮

Regarding the tutorial, as part of our ongoing efforts to better the new player experience, we have decided to make it shorter and more enjoyable. If you’re new to Century and do play it, let us know your thoughts.

We hope you enjoy the new Windguard skin as well as UI changes. Oh, and of course we did not forget about the long awaited community player icons, now available for free - and whilst they won’t stay forever in the shop, we plan to bring them back throughout the year.

Thank you again for your patience and your feedback! We’ll keep working on additional bug fixes while preparing the arrival of Season 2 and we hope you all enjoy what the skies will bring next! 🌠
