White Lantern Ring

The White Lantern Ring is the first Power Array Augment to arrive in DC Universe Online. Fueled by the entire emotional spectrum, this powerful ring represents balance, unity, and the combined strength of all Lantern Corps, channeling life light into a versatile set of abilities that adapt to multiple roles and playstyles.

By gathering Nth Metal and fortifying the White Lantern Ring, players unlock new abilities that become available directly in the Loadouts screen while the augment is equipped. These abilities include ranged light-based attacks, crowd control effects, defensive shielding, and powerful finishing moves, with several abilities gaining additional effects when interacting with dazed enemies or specific combat conditions.

As the ring ranks up, new abilities are unlocked that support different roles:

• Offensive abilities that deal heavy damage at range and reward smart timing against weakened or high-health targets.

• Control-focused abilities that stun enemies, apply debuffs, and set up power interactions

• Defensive options that create protective barriers, including group shielding and healing effects.

• Role-enhanced functionality, such as strong taunts for Tanks, group protection for Healers, defense reduction for Controllers, and bonus interactions for Damage roles.

The White Lantern Ring sets the foundation for the Power Array Augment system, introducing a flexible, ability-focused progression path. It rewards experimentation, supports multiple roles, and provides meaningful new features without replacing or disrupting existing artifact builds.

Introducing Power Array Augments

Power Array Augments are a brand-new progression system that expands how players access and customize abilities through upgradeable items. Designed to complement existing systems, Power Array Augments provide meaningful power choices without replacing or disrupting Artifacts.

These augments function similarly to Artifacts, but with a significantly lower commitment, making them accessible to a wider range of playstyles. They offer new, flexible paths for ability-based progression while preserving the investment players have already made in their Artifacts.

Power Array Augments live in their own dedicated category within the Augments tab and use familiar upgrade systems such as Nth Metal XP, Catalysts, and Breakthroughs. Artifacts remain completely untouched, allowing players to explore this new system independently.

How Power Array Augments Work

• Function similarly to Artifacts, with reduced progression commitment

• Provide new, customizable routes for ability-based progression

• Appear in a dedicated Power Array category within the Augments tab

• Use Nth Metal XP, Catalysts, and Breakthroughs without impacting Artifacts

Each Power Array Augment follows a clear and straightforward progression path:

• Starts at Rank 0 with one unlocked ability

• Has four total ranks, unlocking one additional ability per rank

• Uses Nth Metal XP to level up

• Requires Dionesium, Quantum Field Energy, and Paradox Energy for breakthroughs

• Breakthroughs cannot fail

• Must be equipped to access its abilities

• Allows abilities to be freely slotted into any loadout slot

New Additional Ability Tray

The Additional Ability Tray is a major quality-of-life and combat flexibility upgrade that significantly expands how players build and use their loadouts. This new system introduces a second, fully functional ability tray, giving players more room to adapt, specialize, and react during combat.

With the Additional Ability Tray, players gain access to a second full set of abilities that can be configured independently from their primary tray. While only one tray is active at a time, players can instantly swap between trays with no cooldown and no delay, allowing combat to flow seamlessly without interruption.

Expanded Loadout Options

The Additional Ability Tray provides:

• Six additional ability slots

• Independent ability configurations on each tray

• Full compatibility with Roles, Tactics, and Forms

This system enables players to prepare multiple tactical setups, such as offensive and defensive rotations, crowd control and single-target options, or role-specific responses, all within a single encounter.

Seamless Tray Switching

Switching between trays is immediate and intuitive:

• Hotkey swap using Left ALT on keyboard

• Controller swap using L2 or R2 (LT or RT, ZL or ZR) plus D-Pad Up or Down

• No cooldown or animation lock when swapping trays

A new HUD segment clearly displays which tray is currently active and provides a visual reminder that tray swapping is available, ensuring players always know their current configuration in the heat of battle.

Loadout Customization Rules

The Loadout UI has been updated to display both ability trays at once, making it easy to customize and fine-tune each setup.

• The same ability cannot appear twice on the same tray

• An ability may appear once per tray, allowing strategic duplication across trays

• All standard loadout rules and restrictions continue to apply

The Additional Ability Tray opens the door to deeper build variety and faster on-the-fly decision-making, giving players more control, more options, and more ways to play.

New Open World Boss: Black Hand

Black Hand has risen once more, driven by a single, chilling purpose: to return to the side of his dread master, Nekron. Determined to reclaim his former glory, he brings devastation to the living forces on Mogo, seeking to prove himself worthy and to permanently remove the new herald of the Lord of Death standing in his way.

This new open world encounter challenges players with mechanics steeped in Black Hand’s signature deathly power. Expect waves of zombies, fueled by his corrupt influence. Stay alert for his Corruption Pet, a manifestation of pure Black Lantern death energy that will pressure players throughout the fight. And beware his devastating Black Energy Burst, a wide-range AoE attack that punishes anyone who fails to react in time.

New Mission

The new mission, “Nekron’s Raging Night,” continues the unfolding Raging Night storyline. Players who have completed the final Raging Night Narrative Path mission "The Lord of Death" or who chose to skip the narrative path through Kyle Rayner should keep an eye on their Messages menu for an incoming call from Voivode, which will begin the mission.

CROSS-FACTION GROUPS HAVE ARRIVED!

Cross-Faction Groups are finally here! Now Heroes and Villains can form pre-made groups together and run content as a team. This means players from opposite moral alignments can now join forces to tackle alerts, duos, and raids without needing to be in the same faction. Grouping is done through the existing Social menu. Once formed, mixed-faction groups can enter and complete most PvE content together, expanding team options and making it easier to play with friends regardless of faction.

Ally System Update

With this update, we’ve reworked how combat allies function to make them feel like true companions on the battlefield. Previously, combat allies would appear, use their Active Ability, and vanish. Now, they’ll stick around longer, fight by your side, and use their Signature Ability up to twice per summon! This change applies to a wide selection of existing allies, with more updates coming in a future batch.

Active Abilities are NOW called Signature Abilities since Allies will now do MORE THAN ONE attack. They only used to do ONE attack before - their ACTIVE attack.

Players level 20 and above can explore this immersive open world. Begin by completing a series of story missions that take you across Mogo’s surface and deep into its core. After finishing the main storyline, a variety of repeatable daily and weekly missions become available, offering valuable rewards and ongoing challenges.

New Raid, Alert, and Solo! A new set of instances centered around the living planet Mogo is now available! The main raid, titled Defending Mogo, is a weekly 8-player experience where players join Hal Jordan to investigate the rouge Yellow Lantern Corps’ advance on Mogo. Navigate complex caverns and stop fear from weakening the planet's willpower!

A daily 4-player alert, Protecting Mogo, offers a condensed version of the raid. While scaled down for a smaller team, it preserves the key narrative and combat moments, including battles against Qwardian defenses and a confrontation with Amon Sur.

Before diving into the group content, Heroes and Villains will experience Mogo’s Power Core as a solo mission during the initial narrative progression. This solo instance introduces the Fearful Day storyline and sets the stage for the larger battles to come.

Two New Artifact Slots Arrive! For the first time ever, players can now equip up to five artifacts, up from the previous limit of three, dramatically expanding your strategic options and unleashing new possibilities for builds and loadouts. These two additional slots appear alongside your existing artifact slots on the Character Inventory screen, offering a broader canvas for customization and synergizing powerful effects like never before.

To maintain balance, percentage-based stats from artifacts are now capped at 15% per stat, ensuring no single stat can be overly stacked. If your equipped artifacts would push a stat past this threshold, the system will automatically reduce it to the maximum allowable value. Notably, flat stats are unaffected, allowing you to fine-tune your setup.

Additionally, artifact swapping during combat has been disabled.

With five artifact slots now at your disposal, the meta is about to shift. Prepare to discover powerful new combinations, boost your versatility, and redefine your role in any encounter.

New Artifact: Sinestro's Corrupted Power Ring Sinestro's Corrupted Lantern Ring is a new artifact infused with the twisted energies of fear and will. In the hands of a Controller, the ring draws on the fear of allies and enemies alike, summoning a spectral Avatar of Fear that weakens opponents and amplifies incoming damage. When used by a Damage dealer, it taps into raw willpower, conjuring an Avatar of Will that unleashes explosive energy with every strike. Answer The Monitor's call and travel to his House of Legends, a new shared hero and villain hub at the center of all worlds.

A vast threat approaches, and you - with your allies - will need to be stronger than you are now to face it. To get stronger, everything must change.

House of Legends features this new shared hub, an updated On Duty menu with Quick Play missions, Omnibus scaling content with full rewards and with no loot locks, Save the Universe up-leveled classic content, the Allies system, new rewards, access level upgrades, Doctor Fate's Daily Rewards, and more.

For a limited time, the standard (not up-leveled) versions of Save the Universe content are also available with increased rewards. Look for both in your On Duty menu.

New Hub: The House of Legends The Monitor calls all heroes and villains to his House of Legends to train, coordinate, and prepare for a looming multiversal threat. The House of Legends sits in The Bleed, a plane in between universes, where Tempus Fuginaut, Harbinger, and others from numerous universes watch over the multiverse.

Look for a wide array of useful and practical tools throughout the House of Legends, including the Orrery of Worlds to teleport you across dimensions, the Training Hall for peacefully practicing your combat skills, the Archives, and more.

**New System: Omnibus ** Get into DCUO in a whole new way with the Omnibus system. Play any content your character is eligible for, prior to our latest three episodes, for full rewards and without loot locks. Player stats will be scaled to appropriate levels for all Omnibus content.

• Omnibus Combat Rating requirements have been reorganized into tiers for simplicity and each tier will unlock in full at once

• Player stats will scale to about ten levels higher than NPCs in whichever instance

Spring is in the air! Poison Ivy is back to wreak havoc on the people of Gotham City! We’ve added four new Feats, new bee-themed Base items, chromas and style items.

Collect Seed Pods and purchase Spring items from “Arborist Louis” next to Swamp Thing in the Watchtower or “The Misgiving Tree” next to Poison Ivy in the Hall of Doom.

Villains can learn more about Poison Ivy’s plans by speaking to her in the Hall of Doom’s Pit, while Heroes can speak to Swamp Thing in the Watchtower’s Aquacultural Area to help bring down Ivy and her minions. Speak to Veronica Cale (Villains) or Doctor Sarah Charles (Heroes) to find out more about taking on Swamp Thing.

Attack of the Anti-Monitor 10th Anniversary Event

The anniversary event is back this year for our 10th anniversary, and it is bigger than ever!

New Event Raid and Elite Raid: Speed Force Flux

This year, things have changed. The vindictive Anti-Monitor is trying to free himself using one of the Multiverse’s most powerful and destructive paradoxes. Even if we win, will this new Flashpoint world prove too much for The Flash and Professor Zoom?

Open your On Duty menu and queue for "Speed Force Flux" or "Speed Force Flux Elite" under the events tab. The elite version is a full end-game difficulty raid.

New Open World Missions

Revisit an updated Metropolis Anti-Matter Invasion Zone for brand-new daily, weekly, and bounty missions created just for this year's 10th Anniversary Event!

Open your Mission Journal and look for "Monitoring the Situation," or use the Warp Menu to go directly to the Metropolis Anti-Matter Invasion Zone.

SEASON'S GREEDINGS 2020

Larfleeze is back! Find and recover the stolen gifts in Metropolis and Gotham City before it’s too late! Look for “Yuletide Fear” (Villains) or “Winter Plunderland” (Heroes) in your Mission Journal. Or alternatively you can now use the Warp Menu to head directly to the Watchtower or Hall of Doom by selecting Season’s Greedings: Hal Jordan (Hero) or Season’s Greedings: Sinestro (Villain).

Each day of the event, look for “Season’s Greedings” and “Ring in the Holidays” in your Mission Journal to complete the mission and earn Holly Leaves. Don’t forget to shop at Skeets’ Workshop to get the latest winter clothing, holiday goodies, and festive base items!

New Episode: Long Live the Legion

In the 31st Century, the Legion of Super-Heroes is locked in battle with the timeless sorcerer Mordru. Unable to defeat his rivals, Mordru devises a new plan: to win the future by destroying the past! The Legionnaires come up with a brilliant plan: to call for help from the heroes from the past that Mordru seeks to destroy.

Saturn Girl, Cosmic Boy, and Lightning Lad now look to you for support to face Mordru, Validus, Emerald Empress, and more. Will you answer their call?

Long Live the Legion features new daily and weekly Open World missions, raid-like world bosses, a normal and elite Alert, and a normal and elite Raid! To play this content your character must be level 30 and have a minimum Combat Rating of 310.

New Episode: Wonderverse

With the Source Wall cracked, multiple universes are merging into our own. Along with the new threats also come new allies: the Council of Wonder Women! Take up arms with Nubia, Flashpoint Wonder Woman, Red Son Wonder Woman, and more, face the Olympian Gods and the New Gods, and restore order before it is too late.

Wonderverse features new daily and weekly Open World missions, raid-like world bosses, a brand-new Solo and Alert, as well as Normal and Elite versions of a new Raid! To play this content mode your character must be level 30 and have a minimum Combat Rating of 299.

For a limited time, special “Event” versions of all content for Wonderverse will be available to all players, level 10+ as well! Look for these Event versions in the Events tab of your On Duty menu.

New Open World Missions – Wonderverse: Patchwork Themyscira

A crack in the Source Wall merged together Themysciras of different Earths. As the wall crumbles further, fragments of the Source Wall rain down on the island, attracting multiple factions of invaders seeking to raid this new resource. Help all the Wonder Women repel the raiders and then take the fight to their leaders!

New Solo – Wonderverse: Temples of Source Power

Invading factions have noticed that fragments of that Source Wall are being attracted to places of power around Themyscira. Queue for or walk into 4 different Temples to help the different Wonder Women deny at least one invading faction per day.

New Alert – Wonderverse: Crypt of Penthesilea

Instead of turning over her share of Source Wall fragments to the rest of the Council of Wonder Women, Queen Diana has suspiciously sealed herself inside the Crypt of Penthesilea. Meet with Nubia to see if together you can convince Queen Diana to see reason.

New Raid and Elite Raid – Wonderverse: Fractured God Sphere

We’ve learned from Poseidon that the Sphere of the Gods is crumbling and the Gods themselves have been collecting Source Wall fragments to try and shore up their own power. The Council of Wonder Women know those fragments are necessary to repair the multiverse. Enter the God Sphere and reclaim the fragments for the greater good.

New Open World Missions – BoP: Metropolis Metropolis descends into a battle royale after Lex Luthor broadcasts to the world that he's leaving his wealth, technology, and weapons to anyone willing to take them. Crime is rampant and the Birds of Prey are on the case! Each of the Birds of Prey has a mission for players in the new open world. For example, Heroes will help Huntress fight crime while Villains partner with Catwoman for a piece of the action!

New Solo – BoP: Lex Tower An explosion at LexCorp Tower causes a mad rush for Luthor's tech and spurs an investigation into Luthor's fate. Heroes find H.I.V.E. harvesting what they can while Villains work to prevent A.R.G.U.S. from taking Luthor's tech. Work with Superman and the Birds of Prey to battle your way to Luthor's inner sanctum.

Oracle's Time Capsule

Oracle will soon be calling up the Birds of Prey and YOU in Episode 37: Birds of Prey. Get ready for the big day with Oracle's very own Time Capsule! This capsule, like all Time Capsules, can be unlocked with Stabilizers or purchased directly in the Marketplace. Stabilizers can be earned in-game or purchased in the Marketplace.

Oracle's Gear Styles

Oracle herself, Barbara Gordon, created a humanoid robot - you know, just in case. And it is this robot that the new Combat Protocol gear style is inspired-by. Take the most advanced technology on the planet out for a spin with your very own suit. The Enhanced version of this style is battle reactive, meaning it bursts with energy while you are in combat.

Remember, you will receive a random gear piece as a choice in your loot selection window for each Oracle's Time Capsule you open. When consumed, the gear will become level-appropriate to your character. The Enhanced version of the gear will also appear in the loot selection window, and when consumed will also become level-appropriate to your character.

Oracle's Collection Rewards

Complete three collections for Birds Of Prey-inspired rewards. Put on Dove's mask, Hawk's legendary cape, or channel your own inner hacker with the Network Infiltrator accessory.

These styles are earned through collections, which will appear as a choice in the loot selection window for each Oracle's Time Capsule.

Oracle's Birds of Prey Emblems

The Birds of Prey are a team, but each of Oracle's closest friends keep to their own style most of the time. This Time Capsule features eight new emblems inspired by characters that have answered the call as the Birds of Prey, along with eight more Enhanced versions. These will randomly appear as a choice in the loot selection window for each Oracle's Time Capsule you open.

New Episode: Metal Part II

Earth is sinking into the Dark Multiverse, Batman and Superman are missing, and the planet Thanagar has a world-destroying gun aimed at Earth. Team-up with Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, and Batman to battle the Dark Knights: twisted alternate versions of Batman!

Journey through Batman's nightmares, Atlantis' Silent School, and Oa's Sciencells before diving headlong into the Forge of Worlds at the heart of the Dark Multiverse. Only you can save reality from crumbling, but first you must defeat Dawnbreaker, the Drowned, and the Bat God Barbatos, leader of the Dark Knights!

To play this content your character must be level 30 and have a minimum Combat Rating of 264.

New Duo: Batscape

Players arrive to the Oblivion Bar, one of the few seemingly safe places left after the events of Metal Part I, under the pretense of meeting with the last of Earth's resistance to decide how to respond to the Dark Knights and the sinking of our universe into the Dark Multiverse. Together, they will delve into the depths of Batman’s mind to free him from Barbatos’ influence.

New Alert: Damage Control

Batman knows what the Dark Knights are going to do next, because he knows how they think. The heroes and villains need to get to Atlantis and the Oan Sciencells to stop the Dark Knights. Dawnbreaker has taken over the Sciencells; freeing prisoners and sending them to the front lines on Thanagar. In Atlantis, the Drowned has invaded and slaughtered or mind-controlled most of the Atlanteans, who are still recovering from recent events.

All hell has broken loose in the streets of Gotham City and inside The Midnight Masquerade Nightclub! Go to the East End safehouse in Gotham City and speak to the Phantom Stranger (Heroes) or The Tap Room in Burnley and speak to Tala (Villains) to receive further instructions. Alternatively, you can now use the Warp Menu to head directly to the Open World Content by selecting The Witching Hour: Phantom Stranger (Hero) or The Witching Hour: Tala (Villain). To queue for “The Midnight Masquerade,” go into your On Duty UI and look under the Events Tab.

Dark Knights Time Capsule

Evil will soon be on the move in Episode 35: Metal Part I. Get a head start on your nightmares with the Dark Knights Time Capsule, and spread the fear. This capsule, like all Time Capsules, can be unlocked with Stabilizers or purchased directly in the Marketplace. Stabilizers can be earned in-game or purchased in the Marketplace.

Dark Knights Gear Styles

Batman. Joker. The Dark Multiverse. When combined, these three conjure up terrible, twisted reflections of our world. Inspired by The Batman Who Laughs, the Laughing Knight gear styles should provide plenty of sleepless nights and horrifying dreams for you, your friends, and anyone who has the unfortunate luck to bump into you in-game.

You will receive a random gear piece in your loot selection window in every Dark Knights Time Capsule you open. When consumed, the gear will become level-appropriate to your character. The Enhanced version of the gear will also appear (less commonly) in the loot selection window, and when consumed will also become level-appropriate to your character.

Dark Knights Collection Styles

It is unclear if the Dark Multiverse is rising into our world or if our world is descending down into it. Either way, chaos and dark visions await. Embrace the power of what's to come with the Orange Flux Fire Aura, be the twisted monster you were born to be with the Minotaur Helmet, or become the darkness itself with the Ink Material. These styles are earned through collections, which will appear in the loot selection window for every Dark Knights Time Capsule.

Dark Knights Classics

The Dark Knights Time Capsule features many classic, fan-favorite auras in all-new color variants and new chroma materials. Like everything else, these will randomly appear in the loot selection window when you open a Dark Knights Time Capsule.
