Bug Fix Patch

Changed
  • Optimizing Lone Star Lake location to address FPS drops
Fixed
  • Fixed Feeder and Spinning setup issues in Adventure Missions
  • Compensated players for Baitcoins spent on buoy paint due to marker buoy removal from Ghent-Terneuzen Canal
  • Returned all removed buoys to inventories from Ghent-Terneuzen Canal

Hey Anglers,

We wanted to share a quick update regarding the recent Back to Basics Update on Steam and Epic Games.

First of all, thank you for all the excitement and feedback! It’s been great seeing so many players return to explore the refreshed Lone Star Lake, check out the new Trophy Room, enjoy the update gifts, and experience all the other improvements.

As with any major update, a few issues have popped up, and here’s where things stand:

• The Feeder and Spinning setup issues in Adventure Missions have been fixed. If you were previously unable to complete these missions, please try again.

• Reports about missing Bell sounds, overly loud audio effects, and invisible Marker Buoys are being treated as a high priority and are planned to be fixed in the very next patch.

• Regarding Marker Buoys on Ghent-Terneuzen Canal: due to a miscommunication, the Release Note incorrectly stated that markers would only be removed from Lone Star Lake and Lesni Vila Fisheries. The Canal was also reworked, and its old marker placements were no longer relevant. We apologize for the confusion. All removed buoys have been returned to inventories, and Baitcoins spent on buoy paint have been compensated.

• We're also working on fixes for the Frankenfish Mount not being placeable for some players in the Trophy Room.

• Last but not least, some players have experienced FPS drops at Lone Star Lake. Our team is additionally optimizing the location and investigating these performance issues to improve the experience for everyone.

Several other reported issues are currently being addressed, and a patch is already in preparation. We’re also continuing work on bringing the update to all other platforms, so stay tuned!

If you encounter any issues, please contact support@fishingplanet.com, we are here to help! We truly appreciate all your feedback, bug reports, and continued support.

Thank you, and tight lines!

This update also brings plenty of improvements to other locations, along with a variety of gameplay enhancements across the game. Anglers now finally have their own home with the Trophy Room to show off their great catches!

Moreover, during the next four weeks you will be able to claim even more exclusive gifts from the Personal Offers tab. You will eventually get plus 4 gift boxes full of fishing goodies, each arriving once a week.

Now, let’s take a look at what’s new in this update!

Watch the Update Trailer on YouTube and write a comment under the video to get a chance to win one of three StarRanger Kayak Packs!

Lone Star Lake

The updated Lone Star Lake now offers much more territory to discover. The waterway has been expanded with four locations: Home Sweet Home, Kayak Rentals, Lakeside Grill Area, and Beaver Dam. Kayaks are now available here as well, so whether you rent one on-site or bring your own, you'll have plenty of opportunities to explore the lake and reach new fishing spots.

Angler's House and Trophy Room

The Home Sweet Home location at Lone Star Lake finally lives up to its name. You will now have a personal house that you can actually enter and walk around in. Inside, you'll find a spacious Trophy Room with plenty of space to display your finest catches, achievements and Mounts collected from waterways all around the world. The house and its surroundings have a bunch of interactive objects, so be sure to explore and discover them all.

Brand-new StarRanger™ Trolling Kayak

We’re introducing an entirely new type of kayak to the game: the StarRanger™ Pedal Trolling Kayak. Since the kayak is powered by your feet, there’s no need to stop and recover stamina while moving across the water. The StarRanger™ also comes equipped with two rod holders, letting you troll with up to three rods at once and maximize the amount of fish, XP, and Credits you can earn during every trip.

To make things even better, the kayak features a built-in Echo Sounder, helping you locate fish more efficiently and making trolling easier and much smarter.

The new trolling kayak is available in the StarRanger Kayak Pack, which also includes **7 days of Premium, extra Baitcoins, 20 Marker Buoys, Storage Extensions, Repair Kits, **and unlimited Advanced Licenses for Lone Star Lake, Mudwater River, and Emerald Lake for you to always be covered on these waters!

As always, a rental kayak will also be available at the location. The Outrider™ Trolling Kayak at Lone Star Lake will be at players’ service for those who want to experience pedal-powered navigation and trolling across the lake whenever they wish.

A New Tutorial & Adventure Missions

We’ve completely reworked the Tight Lines tutorial to make the first steps in Fishing Planet more engaging and intuitive. Beginning at Lone Star Lake, Kayak Rentals, it guides newcomers through the game’s core mechanics, including casting, landing fish, traveling between pins, and selling their catch.

The Tutorial grows into Adventure Missions. Follow mission chains that guide you through the adventures assignments and help you discover the best fishing spots, and reward you with upgraded firmware for Tablet. The missions start at Lone Start and continue at Lesni Vila Fishery.

Now let’s go and check out what’s been done in other locations.

**

Mudwater River, Lesní Víla, Rocky Lake, Quanchkin, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal**

You’ll now be able to take your kayaks to Mudwater River as well or rent one right there. The bite map of the location has been updated, and predator trolling has been added to the river.

Lesní Vila Fishery has been spruced up visually and now also has its own chain of Adventure Missions, along with a reworked bite map and numerous visual improvements across the waterway, including updated terrain and shoreline areas, giving you a great reason to explore this location all over again. Complete the missions to unlock the Tablet Firmware “Lesní Víla Map” with a detailed map of the waterway!

Rocky Lake, Quanchkin Lake, and Ghent-Terneuzen Canal have also received a variety of tweaks and improvements, including bite rate adjustments, new fish species, and many other small enhancements.

Please note that Lone Star Lake and Lesní Vila Fishery have been completely redesigned. As a result, any marker buoys previously placed on these waterways are no longer relevant. To avoid confusion, all marker buoys have been removed from these locations and returned to your inventory, allowing you to place them again and mark your new favorite fishing spots.

The fish bite system on Ghent-Terneuzen Canal has also been significantly reworked, which means some of your existing marker buoys may no longer be in the most productive locations. However, since the waterway itself has not been redesigned, we have not removed any markers. We recommend reviewing your existing buoy placements and updating them as needed to match the new fish behavior.

New Fish Species

A total of 6 new freshwater fish species are making their way into Fishing Planet, each finding a new home across different waterways. Lone Star Lake welcomes Threadfin Shad, Yellow Bass, and the iconic Guadalupe Bass, a species endemic to Texas, which will be available there in all three fish forms, including Unique!

At Mudwater River, Anglers can now target Shortnose Gar, while Rocky Lake gains Greenback Cutthroat Trout and Longnose Dace. Quanchkin Lake also gets a new resident, with Yellow Bass now swimming in its waters as well.

Some of the fish species across all these waterways received additional fish forms, so you can go ahead and check out the locations' fish lists to find what’s been added.

New Competitions & New Achievements

From now on the competitive spirit will start from the map one! You can try chasing Bass from a kayak, targeting Buffalo with precision, or competing for the best Sunfish score at Lone Star Lake, or go for a mud battle to fight toothy gar at Mudwater River.

There have been two new Achievements added catch all fish species of unique form: Senior Limnologist at Lone Star Lake and Hydrobiologist-engineer of the Lesní Víla Fishery.

New Bait and Lures

Every angler loves new baits and shiny tackle, and this update brings a few new additions to your tackle box! We’ve added three new color variations for Bass Jigs, a new Dragonfly Nymph bait, and three Texas-themed lures that you can claim from the Lone Star Welcome Box absolutely free!

A More Immersive Environment

With this release, we’ve started a gradual rework of the game’s overall sound design. Lone Star Lake, Lesní Víla Fishery, Mudwater River, Rocky Lake, Emerald Lake, Neherrin River, Ghent-Terneuzen Canal and White Moose Lake have received completely updated ambient audio, including new bird, wind, rain, weather, and various other in-game sounds.

This is just the beginning, and we’ll continue improving and updating audio across more locations in future releases until all waterways are brought up to the new standard.

For the best experience, we recommend starting with all audio sliders set to maximum. Once you’ve explored the new ambient sounds, feel free to tweak the settings and create your own perfect balance.

UI changes
Inventory Sorting

We are continuing to improve the Inventory sorting and navigation, and it now includes a new All Items category with an expand/collapse option, making it much easier to browse through large item lists without opening every section manually. We’ve also added a Search feature, so you can quickly find a specific item or item group by name instead of scrolling through the whole inventory.

Managing items between the Backpack and HomeStorage has also become more convenient. You can now move entire subcategories between storage tabs, with a confirmation window showing what will be moved and how much space is available. Individual items can be moved in one click, without an extra confirmation step.

We’ve improved the Equipment setup flow to make tackle assembly more intuitive for beginner players. Placeholder icons now better reflect the required item types, equipment rules are more consistent across different setups, and hints provide clearer guidance when something is missing or equipped in the wrong order.

This update also adds automatic category switching when selecting empty equipment slots, making it easier to find the right items for your setup.

Results & Progression Window Improvements

We’ve redesigned the results screens to make the end-of-day and trip summaries more informative and easier to read. Rewards, catches, location details, and completed challenges are now presented more clearly. A new Level Up window has also been added to better celebrate progression and show newly unlocked content and the next location to look forward to.

Time Forward Window Improvements

The Time Forward window now is easier to understand. The chart shows Fish Activity, so it’s more obvious what the graph represents, and Next Morning was renamed to Next Day to be more clear.

We also added a reminder that all fish will be sold when moving to the next day.

Shop UI Improvements

We’ve improved the in-game Shop to make browsing and comparing items easier. The top navigation is now cleaner, filters are better organized, and search and sorting controls are more convenient to use.

We’ve also updated controller navigation in the Shop to make it more consistent with other main game sections. Submenu navigation, item selection, search, sorting, 3D preview, and item description scrolling now have clearer controller mappings, making the Shop easier to browse with a controller.

On top of that, we’ve expanded the local shops at Lesni Villa, Mudwater, and Ghent-Terneuzen Canal with a wider selection of items, giving you more useful options when shopping at these waterways. On Lone Star, the local shop now matches the Global Shop in assortment and prices, helping players explore the full range of available items while getting familiar with how different shop types work.

Setup Compatibility

Finding the right gear combination now will become much easier. When browsing tackle in the Shop, simply click the Rods button to bring up a list of rod and reel types that work with the selected item. Everything is displayed in one place, helping you compare options more easily and build compatible setups with less effort.

Hey Anglers,

Fishing Planet’s Catch & Compete Update is now live, bringing a fresh wave of improvements to your every day fishing experience!

Dive in and try out a more transparent and comprehensive Competitive Rating and Matchmaking System, brand-new Rewarding Leaderboards, long-awaited Daily Missions and Colored Buoys that add a new layer of activity to your time on the water.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s new in Fishing Planet!

Daily Missions

Daily Missions are time-limited tasks that refresh every day, giving players a great opportunity to earn additional XP, Baitcoins and Club Tokens on a daily basis! They become available to all players from level 10. Each day, you can get up to three missions with assignments based on your level and recent activity. Missions are split into Daily Catch, available to all players, Club Catch for those in a club, and Premium Catch for players with an active Premium account.

** Long-awaited Colored Buoys**

Colored Buoys are finally here, making it easier than ever to keep your favorite fishing spots organized. Choose from eight vibrant colors and set them up your way—mark Uniques, Trophies, Competition catches, and regular fishing spots with different colors so you can tell them apart at a glance. Organize everything in whatever way works best for you.

On your tablet, you can quickly switch colors through the buoy menu and use color filters to show only what you need. You can also filter buoys by color right on your tablet, so it’s easy to focus only on the spots you need at the moment. And if you want to clear things up, you can hide all markers and get a clean view of the water.

This feature will be completely free on Lone Star Lake, Texas and Lesni Villa, The Czech Republic, so you can try different ways of organizing your buoys and figure out what works best for you before heading to other locations. All players also have a few free color changes available, so you can experiment without spending anything and get comfortable with the system at your own pace. For Premium players, changing Marker Buoy colors will remain free on every waterway in the game. Enjoy!

**An increased Marker Buoy limit **

With this update, we’re also increasing the Marker Buoy limit from 2000 to 2500. We know some players were really looking forward to it!

If you’re curious to learn more about how Colored Buoys work and what’s new with Daily Missions, make sure to check out the DevDiary: Colored Buoys and Daily Missions

New Competitive Rating and Matchmaking

We’re introducing a new Competitive Rating System to make competitions more transparent. The number of Rating Points you earn depends on your final placement, and you can always check exactly how many points each position gives in the Competition Details under the Rewards tab. If you already have a Competitive Rating, it stays with you, so you’ll simply continue from where you left off before this Update.

On top of that, Competitions now match you with players of a similar Competitive Rating. You’ll compete within your own group, with a separate results board, making it easier to track your progress and fight for top spots.

Please note that Matchmaking works best when enough players register for a competition. If participation is too low, the system cannot divide anglers into balanced groups, which means experienced players may still end up competing against newcomers. To create fair matchups, the system needs to know in advance how many participants will actually take part in each competition. That is why registering for a competition without participating will result in a rating penalty.

There are a few exceptions, however. You will not be penalized if you withdraw before the competition starts, or if you catch at least one qualifying fish and then leave before the competition ends.

Invite your friends to join, the more participants there are, the better the chances for everyone to be matched with anglers of a similar rating.

If you want to get a better idea of how Competitive Rating works and how Matchmaking now groups you with players closer to your skill level, check out the DevDiary: Competitive Rating and Matchmaking

New Rewarding Leaderboards

Leaderboards are finally rewarding! With this update, we are introducing three main Leaderboards: Global, Competition, and Fish, each with its own filters and views. You can track your progress by week, month, or year, sort by XP, fish types like Young, Common, Trophy, or Unique, locations and see top players by catches or XP gained. Altogether, this creates 1000+ leaderboard combinations, so you can play smart and aim for the amazing rewards like X-Series items, Premium Account, Club Tokens, Baitcoins, Credits, brand-new exclusive items, and more!

Keep in mind that Competition Leaderboards offer the highest rewards of them all, giving you and your friends even more reason to jump into Competitions if you haven’t tried them yet.

After May 1 the previous Leaderboards will disappear, but don’t worry about your records - they all are stored in your profile, so you will always have access to the information about the biggest fish you caught.

To find more details on how the new Leaderboards work and what kind of rewards you can earn, check out the DevDiary: New Rewarding Leaderboards

Update to the fish weight distribution algorithm

We’ve refined fish weight distribution to make catches more consistent across the Leaderboards. Please note that all adjustments are calibrated in kilograms, so any issues you may notice in pounds could be caused by rounding during the conversion from kilograms. If you spot any inaccuracies of this kind, you’re always welcome to contact Support.

Some players noticed before that previous changes to the weight distribution algorithm also affected how Groundbait Mixes performed, especially for species like Carp. We’re happy to share that this has now been reworked, and with the updated algorithm, the so-called and known among players “carp oversizing” is back.

Get your best recipes ready and enjoy!

Bug Fix and Improvements

We’ve also made a number of fixes and improvements across the game to enhance performance, refine gameplay, and improve overall stability. Let’s dive into what’s been done in more detail:

Gameplay

  1. Resolved teleportation issues between pins in Norway.

  2. Adjusted Congo rented motorboat spawn position to ensure proper shore access.

  3. Fixed an issue where players could be moved from a private room to a random room after changing theirs.

  4. Fixed FPS drops and eliminated empty hint issues when approaching boats.

  5. Resolved infinite spool reeling issue.

  6. Fixed aim casting issues when using X Heavy baits in Match setups.

  7. Fixed an exploit allowing fish to be landed instantly from boats at ocean locations without a fight.

  8. Improved tracking of fish depth for the Fish Habitat Depth Metrics mission.

Competitions

  1. Improved competition joining flow. From now on if players are on The Globe or on a different location when a competition starts, they will receive a window that will allow them to join the competition faster.

  2. Enhanced clarity of allowed and prohibited equipment in Competition Details.

Be aware that the weather indicated below is the weather prevailing during the day, but if it says “Rain” it doesn’t mean it necessary will rain for 10 hours in a row, there can be slight differences during the day, just like in real life and in previous Tournaments.

First Qualifier - Maku-Maku Lake:

  • Weather: Rain (previously Heavy Clouds)

  • Time: 13:00 - 21:00 (previously 8:00 - 16:00)

Bug Fix Patch - Version 6.0.4

Hey Anglers,

We’ve just released a small hotfix to address a few issues that appeared after the latest bug-fix patch.

There’s also one important detail we unfortunately missed in the previous patch notes, related to competitions. Some of you may have noticed that the ratings column has disappeared. Please don’t worry - this is expected behavior, not a bug. As part of our work on a new matchmaking and rating system, this temporary change was necessary. The ratings column will return once the new feature is released, your rating won’t be lost, and points that you are gaining right now ace all calculated and saved.

Here’s what’s been addressed in this patch:

  • Resolved an issue where hint messages were repeatedly displayed at the top of the screen.

  • Fixed an issue with an unresponsive window that appeared when a player with the maximum number of marker buoy slots received a shared marker buoy.

  • The float now correctly bounces on waves on Torii No Koto pin in Japan.

  • Addressed a missing personal record message after catching a huge fish on the Valkyrie boat.

  • Adjusted the minimum trophy weight for Atlantic Saury, as the maximum weight of the common fish form exceeded the minimum trophy weight, to keep fish weight ranges consistent within the same location.

  • Fixed ice and Greenland Shark animation issues in the Sharkology mission.

  • Corrected glasses visibility on characters in Photo Mode.

  • The sound effect for putting glasses on and taking them off has been corrected.

We appreciate your reports and support as we continue to improve the game. Your feedback plays a huge role in making the experience better for all anglers.

Hot Fix Patch - Version 6.0.1

Hey Anglers,

We’ve just released a hotfix patch to address several urgent issues that came up after the Norway Update on Steam and Epic Games. At the same time, we’re actively working on a larger patch that will resolve many more issues and improvements in the near future.

Before we dive into the fixes, we’d like to address a concern raised by some players regarding longer reeling times in the Maldives after the update. After reviewing in-game statistics, we found that the average reeling time has actually decreased by about two minutes compared to data from the week before the release. Based on this, we’re unable to confirm the issue and are seeing the opposite result instead.

Now, let’s take a look at what’s been addressed in this hotfix:

  • Inventory Sorting**:** Fixed an issue where combining Max Line Weight with Show Subgroups caused fishing lines to disappear from the inventory.

  • Mission direction hints no longer flash after closing the Tablet and now appear only when intended.

  • Corrected incorrect template names in the Valkyrie Saga Pack.

  • Fixed crashes that could occur when starting a Fishing Together session.

  • Resolved an issue where players were unable to enter a boat after joining a competition.

  • Fixed freezes that could happen when restarting the game during an active competition.

  • Improved stability when launching Fishing Together sessions, preventing occasional freezes.

  • Fixed a bug where players could spawn without rods in hand in Fishing Together sessions after restarting.

  • Boats no longer retain reduced speed from Rough Water Zones after changing pins.

We appreciate your patience along the way and hope you are enjoying all the Christmas activities and extreme fishing at Skarland Fjord!

Tight lines and Merry Fishmas!

Release Note: Skårland Fjord, Norway

Hey Anglers,

Welcome to Skårland Fjord, Norway – a new waterway where anglers can focus on extreme fishing and brutal fights with bottom-dwelling predators!

To welcome the launch together with our amazing community, we’ve prepared a free Shark Cap and 5 Repair Kits just for you. All players, regardless of level, can head to the Personal Offers tab and claim these fin-tastic presents, but only for a limited time, so don’t miss out!

Now, let's discover what’s new in this update!

Skårland Fjord, Norway

Set out for a brand-new destination — Skårland Fjord, Norway, 10x10 km which makes it 100 square kilometers (almost 25,000 acres) of icy Norwegian Sea. These waters are home to 25 cold-water fish species, all of them completely new to Fishing Planet, including regional icons like Norwegian Atlantic Salmon, Herring, several Cod species, as well as predators such as the European Angler. You’ll also encounter true giants such as Atlantic Halibut, Porbeagle Shark, European Sea Sturgeon, and the long-living Greenland Shark. With every form and variation, Skårland Fjord offers 79 fish to discover, making it one of the most diverse and content-rich waterways in the game!

Players can unlock this location at level 105, or dive right into the fishing saga with one of the DLC packs, each including 30- or 60-day access, plus an Advanced License and Premium account for the same time period. The maximum level cap in the game has been increased from 100 to 110.

Watch the video on YouTube and write a comment under it to get a chance to win Valkyrie Saga Pack with the brand new boat and 60 days of access to Skårland Fjord, Norway!

Long awaited crane for huge fish available now!

Introducing a brand-new Valkyrie fishing boat that stays stable in rough waters keeping its speed, cuts through high waves, and even breaks ice! It’s all about getting more out of every trip at sea. With 3 rod holders per angler, all four players on board can fish multiple rods at once — meaning more bites and way more fish in the same amount of time. The rod holders are fully adjustable, so you can set everything up exactly the way you like. While this boat is focused mostly on bottom fishing, you can still take it across all saltwater locations in the game and use it for trolling as well.

For truly massive catches, the Valkyrie features a heavy-fish crane. Once your catch hits a certain weight, the crane lifts it aboard and lets you snap stunning shots of your haul. And the best part is that you don't have to own the boat, since all guests in Fishing Together sessions can share the crane for their giant fish as well.

The Valkyrie comes equipped with an extra-large 3,500 kg fish storage with max fish capacity of 720 kg. For the first time in the game, an ocean boat features refrigerated, fish-friendly storage, keeping your catch in top condition and rewarding you with a generous +20% Credits and +20% XP bonus for every fish. Add the ability to fish with four rods at once, and you’ll quickly notice how much faster you can level up.

Dive into a new chain of Adventure Missions and help out the local residents along the way. All players will unlock useful Tablet firmware upgrades and earn unique rewards. And for those who own the Valkyrie and are ready to take on truly massive catches, there's a chance to face one of the biggest monsters on The Planet.

The Valkyrie Fishing Boat, 3 next-generation AquaVolt™ electric bottom setups, a full arsenal of terminal tackle, and 50 Repair Kits can be obtained with the Valkyrie Saga Pack. With 60 days of access, Advanced License, Premium account, and extra Marker and Navigation Buoys, you’re fully equipped to jump straight into big game fishing and start building your heroic epos on the open water.

Ingrid Fishing Boat

Ingrid is a sturdy, traditional Norwegian fishing boat built for harsh northern conditions. Compact, reliable, and easy to handle, it feels right at home among narrow fjords and rocky coastlines. Just like the Valkyrie, Ingrid stays steady in Rough Water Zones, keeping control in bad weather, and can break through ice. Ingrid is available for rent at Skårland Fjord — giving every Angler a chance to experience authentic Nordic fishing without owning a boat.

Electric Rods and Reels Setups

Some of the new species in Skårland Fjord can grow to truly massive sizes — up to 700 kg. To take on giants like these, Electric Rods and Reels are finally making their debut in Fishing Planet. This update introduces two brand-new equipment categories: **Electric Saltwater Bottom Casting Rods **and Electric Saltwater Casting Reels.

Designed to work together, electric rod and reel setups are built to handle extreme pressure where regular gear simply won’t hold up. Electric reels make your life much easier – with the push of a button, they automatically pull in the line, giving you a huge advantage against deep-sea predators.

When mounted on a rod holder, electric reels become even more efficient and help you maintain better control over multiple rods at once. Please note that electric reels also feature a manual mode which offers a higher Max Load. You can switch between manual mode and electric mode for optimal reeling in different situations. Electric reels also come with different reeling speeds, so feel free to experiment and find the best match for each type of fish.

Saltwater Spinning Rods for vertical jigging

These rods are generally shorter, with a highly responsive blank and a reinforced tip, allowing for sharp, repetitive vertical movements—perfect for lifting and dropping heavy jigs with precision.

You can get two powerful Njörinvik™ spinning setups for vertical jigging, along with a Rod Case, an extra-spacious Tackle Wagon, and a wide selection of lures and baits in the Nordic Legend Pack. To fully embrace the harsh northern vibe, the pack also includes a Viking-themed outfit, as well as Sunglasses and a Headlamp to keep you ready for any conditions. On top of that, you’ll receive 30 days of access, Advanced License, Premium, 50 Repair Kits, and extra Marker and Navigation Buoys to feel prepared for brutal northern fishing from the very start.

New Saltwater Terminal Tackles

Experiment with a fresh lineup of saltwater gear now available in the in-game Store. Light up the depths with Torches, Saltwater Glowing Mono Lines and Braids. Stay prepared with Colorful Fluorocarbon and Steel Leaders. Tungsten™ Saltwater Sinkers add extra weight, helping your rigs reach the bottom faster. Try the new Saltwater Golden Hooks, designed to work with a wide range of baits, including Atlantic Herring, Lesser Sand Eel, Atlantic Mackerel Cut Baits, Bluey, Seal Blubber, Ragworms, Black Lugworms, Peeler Crab, and Razor Shell.

You’ll also find a bunch of new Saltwater Softbaits, including Baby Halibut, Glowing Squid, Twisters, and Slugs, that can be paired with Saltwater Jigheads, making them perfect for vertical jigging and trolling.

New Inventory Sorting System

As Fishing Planet keeps growing and new gear arrives with every update, managing your Inventory should feel easier. This update introduces new Inventory Sorting Filters. Each Inventory category now comes with its own filter options, letting you sort items exactly the way you want. Organize your gear by name, level, hook size, weight, line capacity, durability, and more — with sorting options tailored to each category.

You can also switch between ascending and descending order, hide or show subgroups, and keep everything clean and easy to navigate. Large inventories are now far more comfortable to handle. Expand or collapse item groups with a single click and jump straight to what you need — no more endless scrolling. This is just the first step of our ongoing Inventory rework, with more improvements planned for future updates.

A Living Ecosystem and Immersion

Skårland Fjord feels more alive thanks to locals living in the area, and active wildlife including seals, dolphins and orcas regularly appearing in the water around you. The weather adds to the atmosphere, bringing long daylight hours, bright white nights, and a sky that’s constantly changing. Calm, cloudy days can quickly shift into powerful storms with rough seas, lightning and thunder, and snowfall. And when conditions are just right, the northern lights may appear, turning an ordinary fishing trip into something truly memorable.

Rough Waters Zones

Brace yourself for Rough Water Zones, where the waves rise and you’ll need to slow down. You’ll get a notification as you approach these areas, and the HUD icon will change to let you know you’ve entered waters where extra caution is needed.

Repair Kits

A long-awaited quality-of-life improvement is here: you can now repair items without equipping them from your character. Simply click the Wrench icon next to an item and confirm — fast, clean, and hassle-free.

We’re also introducing a brand-new feature — Repair Kits. Long fish fights and constant pressure can wear down even the toughest gear, and now you have a way to stay in the action without interruptions. Repair Kits let you fix your equipment right on the waterway, without returning to the Global Map or unequipping your setup — even during Competitions, Tournaments, or Fishing Together sessions. And for Premium SE series items, repairs are possible even after they’ve been fully broken. You’ll be able to repair any item in your Inventory with a single click, whenever you need it. In case you run out of the kits, you can restock instantly in the Services tab of the Shop.

To give every angler a chance to try out this new feature, we’ve prepared you a gift of 5 Repair Kits. Simply log into the game and visit the Personal Offers tab in the Premium Shop to claim them!

Moreover, you can now earn Repair Kits by completing challenges. You’ll receive 1 Repair Kit for reaching Level III of each of the Line Breaker,** Rod Breaker**,** and Reel Breaker achievements**, as well as for completing the third stages of all cleaning challenges that require reeling in underwater items across all waterways.

Monster Missions

Dive into new Monster Missions! This time the Brave Angler is called in to help local residents deal with the **Fenrivores **and the chaos these creatures left behind. At this point you can choose whether you want to fish the monster solo or with friends.

Beyond that, you’ll also take part in the mysterious **Helgaflut **ritual — but its true purpose is something you’ll discover in the game.

Missions, Competitions and Achievements

Put your skills to the test in 5 Competitions and unlock 14 brand-new Achievements. Take on numerous Exploring, Collecting, Mastering, and Fishing Together missions to sharpen your angling skills, enjoy the journey, and earn useful rewards that will carry your fishing saga deeper into the fjord.

We’ve also made a few improvements in the Competitions UI: simplified entering competitions by introducing a unified interface, whether a player is registered in one competition or multiple ones. Now, when you get a Competition Start Window now allows the following:

  • If you’re on another waterway and click on Start, you will be transferred to the Global Map so as to make sure you have all the needed equipment for the competition and then join it on the waterway.

  • If you’re already on the Global Map, the window will take you directly to the competition waterway, or you can just close it if you are still making preparations in the Inventory.

  • If you’re already on the competition waterway, you’ll enter the competition immediately.

We’ve also added a new Finish Competition button, allowing you to leave a competition at any time if you don’t wish to continue. Along with that, we made several small adjustments to make the overall experience clearer and more comfortable. This is just the first iteration of the updated Competitions UI, and we plan to keep improving it—so feel free to share your feedback on these changes.

Bug Fix for Multiple Issues

As usual, big releases bring a lot of fixes for the issues that’s been resolved before and had to be delivered to the live servers.

One important improvement we’d like to highlight concerns how large fish are displayed. Previously, after catching a fish, it would appear on the grip with the usual keep/release and photo mode options. However, for very large fish this often looked unrealistic, with the fish's head filling most of the screen and causing visual issues. To solve this, large catches will now be shown directly in the character’s hands, skipping the grip stage for a more visually clean presentation.

Here’s what else has been fixed, resolved and improved.

Boats, Yachts & Water Behavior
  • Resolved an issue where boat speed dropped during trolling when captains switched at higher speeds.

  • Addressed cases where yachts could be throttled to 100% while anchored with rods cast out.

  • Fixed different liners position for captain and guests after time forward.

  • Resolved an issue where an anchored yacht would shake excessively after colliding with cruise liners.

  • Fixed an issue where player physics could break if the captain teleported to a buoy when another player’s rod was cast.

  • Eliminated cases where speed indicators did not properly reflect engine state after reconnecting in Fishing Together.

  • Corrected wave direction so it now properly matches wind direction at the Maldives location when the wind changes.

  • Prevented wave direction changes after modifying Ocean Water settings.

  • Ensured wave height now properly reacts to Low and Medium Ocean Water settings.

  • Fixed missing wave height changes on freshwater locations.

Fishing, Fish Behavior & Gear
  • Fixed fish stuck on rocks, floating in the air, or flying after collisions Resolved cases where fish could become tired while the player was in the menu

  • Fixed situations where fish caught and taken into hands could cause disconnects.

  • Corrected float bobbers so they stay properly connected to the line during wave movement.

  • Addressed an issue where floats did not react to waves at the Kaiji No Ri Torii No Koto pin.

  • Corrected grip positioning when a fish is hooked during Photo Mode.

  • Prevented leader length from resetting after changing rods when moving between local and global maps.

  • Fixed incorrect overweight warnings for the X-Large Spod when its weight was within limits.

  • Adjusted rod stand behavior so rods no longer appear floating after height changes.

  • Now groundbait mixes can be used on boats and yachts.

  • Fixed incorrect lure and bait visuals after interaction with underwater items.

  • Corrected partially transparent Gudgeon fish visuals.

Camera, Photo Mode & Visuals
  • Improved camera behavior to prevent full rotation when looking down and pressing L3.

  • Fixed lighting disappearing when rotating the camera in Photo Mode.

  • Addressed broken camera flyovers on St. Croix after competitive activities.

  • Corrected cases where the sky changed unexpectedly on San Joaquin Delta.

  • Removed unintended fog appearing when using a flashlight right after time forward at night.

  • Eliminated ocean water occasionally glowing with an unnatural acidic color at Maldives.

  • Improved fish radar visuals on the Chamaeleon yacht, reducing overly bright backgrounds.

  • Fixed factory pipes disappearing at Sander Baggersee Lake.

UI, HUD & Controls
  • Adjusted overlapping UI elements, including context menu “Options” overlapping layouts, hint text overlapping the compass on yachts, and extra “X” button appearing in Buy Licenses and Profile windows.

  • Corrected level and rank text placement in send gift windows.

  • Fixed scrollbar and profile display issues when using a gamepad.

  • Resolved cases where the zoom stopped working correctly on the Globe.

  • Corrected incorrect controller action naming for “Toggle Pitch Cast.”

  • Fixed the “Space” button label not updating properly when switching to gamepad.

  • Removed duplicated “Item Info” hints appearing across inventory tabs.

  • Corrected a typo in the Template Receiving window.

  • Improved search behavior so player names with underscores (_) are no longer skipped.

Chat, Social & Profile
  • Prevented chat messages from disappearing after extended fishing sessions.

  • Fixed freezes when switching rooms via the chat menu.

  • Resolved freezes and disconnects when captains opened other players’ profiles while the yacht was moving. Corrected issues where player options differed depending on whether profiles were opened via friends list or search.

  • Fixed cases where “Confirm” and “Decline” buttons became inactive after searching for a player who sent a friend request.

  • Ensured leaderboards no longer show players with missing profiles.

  • Addressed cases where profile windows closed unexpectedly when viewing fish in 3D.

  • Here is a joke for those who read release notes all

Maldives Update Tweaks for Smoother Fights

Hey Anglers,

Since the Maldives Update, we’ve been getting feedback about the toughest battles in the game - the epic fights with Unique Swordfish and Black Marlin. Some of you mentioned these fights felt a bit too long, or that fish were escaping too often due to low line tension.

While that behavior isn’t a bug, as when these powerful fish try to escape, they can sometimes swim quickly toward you causing the line to go slack, we still wanted to make things more enjoyable for our players. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been analyzing your feedback and in-game data to find the best balance between realistic challenge and fun gameplay.

Here’s what’s been done:
  1. Adjusted certain parameters to make the fights shorter. Our data shows that average fight times are now around 10–12 minutes, with the longest ones lasting up to 30 minutes.

  2. Improved line tension mechanics. You now have more time to react when the line goes slack, reducing the chances of losing fish due to sudden tension drops. As a result, our statistics show a significant drop in the amount of cases when fish were lost due to low line tension.

  3. Added a line of Trolling Octopus lures with a larger variety of hook sizes from #11/0 to #16/0, giving you more precision when targeting big fish and helping you keep them securely hooked. As every seasoned angler knows, the closer your hook size matches the fish’s mouth, the better your chances of landing it without escape. You can find all the new lures now in the in-game shop!

We hope these updates make your saltwater adventures even more exciting, keeping the thrill of the fight while making every catch feel fair and rewarding.

Just a quick reminder: your pull and reel technique makes a big difference! Don’t forget to pull your rod with wide vertical movements while reeling in to keep the tension right and land that trophy catch.

Thank you for all your feedback and ongoing support.

Tight lines and big catches to all!
