_Adventures in Idle Champions have always offered up to three Variants to test your mettle... until now!

Today, we're introducing Mastery Variants, a new fourth Variant tier available now for the first adventures of nearly every campaign.

These variants are not for the faint of heart (or low ilevels). Expect daunting restrictions, objectives beginning at area 1,425, and even tougher Patron versions. Completing them is the ultimate test of formation mastery and your path to fantastic new play rewards!

With Mastery Comes Rewards:

Mastery Variants introduce Medallions, new currencies earned by completing these difficult Variants. Mastery Medallions can be used to unlock Legendary Feats in the new Mastery Shop, and Patron Mastery Medallions unlock Chromatic Skins in the Patron Shops.

Choose Carefully! You won't be able to earn every reward released today from the first batch of Mastery Variants. New Mastery Variants will arrive every month at the end of each event, bringing additional Medallions to earn. Every three months, we'll expand the Mastery and Patron Shops with new Legendary Feats and Chromatic Skins, giving you even more rewards to collect through play!

  • **Legendary Feats: **Spend Mastery Medallions to unlock powerful Legendary Feats in the new Mastery Shop tab!

  • Each Champion can equip one Legendary Feat in its own dedicated feat slot, and Legendary Feats can be upgraded with Scales of Tiamat to increase their power.

  • Four Legendary Feats are available today: Drizzt, Wulfgar, and Pwent have Legendary Feats unlockable through gameplay using Mastery Medallions. Lae'zel's Legendary Feat is included in a new DLC Pack, along with 6 DPS Pigments.

  • **Chromatic Skins: **Complete Patron Mastery Variants to earn Patron Mastery Medallions, then spend them on Chromatic Skins in Patron Shops.

  • Today, Jarlaxle & Hew Maan each receive a new Chromatic Skin, with five dragon-inspired color variants based on the Chromatic Dragons.

  • Champions of the same species can not be placed next to each other. If they are, the damage of all Champions is set to 0.
  • In each area a fly spawns alongside the first wave of enemies. An additional fly spawns for every 25 areas completed, up to a maximum of 50 flies. Flies do not drop gold or count toward quest progress.

New Legendary Feats

Today marks the debut of Legendary Feats, a powerful new Champion progression system!

They are equipped into a new Legendary Feat slot that is visible in the feats section once you obtain the Legendary Feat.

Leveling Up: Legendary Feats begin at Level 1 and can be upgraded to Level 10 using Scales of Tiamat, increasing their power with each level.

Drizzt

Apex Predator - Level 1: Whenever Drizzt scores a Critical Hit he gains an Instinct stack that expires after 15 seconds. His damage is increased by 1000% for each Instinct stack he has, stacking multiplicatively. If he scores another Critical Hit before his stacks expire, the timers for all his stacks restart. This ability caps at 4 stacks. If there are at least 20 Mithral Hall stacks in the formation, Drizzt's base Critical Hit chance is increased by an additional 20%.

  • Per Level Adjustment:

  • x2 damage buff per Feat level

  • -1 Mithral Hall stack required per Feat level

  • +2 cap to Instinct stacks per Feat level

  • Caps at level 10

Wulfgar

Son of Beornegar - Level 1: Wulfgar gains the Hunter role and Monstrosities are his favored foe. Wulfgar increases the damage of all Champions by 100% for each Monstrosity defeated since the last boss was killed, stacking multiplicatively and capping at 25 stacks. If there are at least 20 Mithral Hall stacks in the formation, a Yeti has a 50% chance to spawn with each wave.

  • Per Level Adjustment:

  • x2 damage buff per Feat level

  • -1 stacks required to spawn a Yeti per Feat Level(caps at 1)

  • +5% chance to spawn Yeti per Feat Level (additive)

  • Caps at level 10

Pwent

Loyal to the End - Level 1: Increase the effect of Can You SMELL That? by 250% for each Dwarf Champion or Companion of the Hall Champion in the formation, stacking multiplicatively. • Per Level Adjustment:

  • x2 damage buff per Feat level

  • -1 stacks required to activate additional Ceremorphosis

  • Caps at level 10

Nahara Rebalance
  • To Amuse or Avenge is an interesting speed and damage combo ability. We're happy with the speed effect, but have adjusted the damage from additive to multiplicative so that it's much more effective at boosting Nahara's damage at low stacks. We've also made it so that feats and equipment buffing this ability will affect the pre-stack value, providing more oomph if she's well-equipped.
  • Strong Society is Nahara's affiliation synergy and was her featured pre-stack ability. Unfortunately, it was only buffed by a single specialization choice. To fix this, we've swapped her Ultimate Cooldown equipment over to buff this ability, which should provide for a much larger damage boost if you're running a full Black Dice Society formation with decent equipment levels.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Nahara's upgrades to align with his kit updates.
Strongheart Rebalance
  • Justice Needs Champions is Strongheart's base buff, and has been bumped up a touch given as he's in a higher bench seat.
  • Our main change to Strongheart is to adjust all three of his specialization choices to be buffed pre-stack by feats and equipment, rather than post-stack. This will be especially powerful for people who run his A Righteous Event specialization at high stacks.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Strongheart's upgrades to align with his kit updates.
Walnut Rebalance
  • Documancer was a bit of a NOMBO for Walnut. Since you start each area with zero stacks and must kill enemies to get stacks, it is very ineffective when you reach your wall. We've opted to adjust how the stacks reset, removing only half of them when changing areas instead of resetting them. Additionally, feats and equipment that buff this ability will now apply to the pre-stack value, rather than post-stack.
  • Job's Done intention was to give you a damage bonus at the start of each area so you can get that very important first Documancer stack. With the changes to Documancer, it's more of a passive buff that encourages you to hurry along. We've increased its magnitude and duration to keep it at least somewhat relevant.
  • Wolfnut's temporary hit point shield was some of the only health Walnut received to tank with, so we've increased its magnitude. We've also given Walnut a health-boosting piece of equipment (replacing her Ultimate Damage equipment) and bumped up her base health a bit.
  • We haven't made any changes to Contractual Obligations, since it's just a basic health share ability. The changes to Walnut's max health and equipment should, however, improve this ability's effectiveness.
  • Pen-Paws was a good ability in theory, but just didn't have modern numbers. We've changed the stacking from additive to multiplicative, which gives it several orders of magnitude more impact when fully stacked, as it will definitely be when you're at or near your wall.
  • The Co-Signer specialization's base effect has been doubled to provide more impact in formations with multiple "C"-Team Champions.
  • The Temporary Alliance specialization has been changed from additive to multiplicative to give Walnut more synergy in unaffiliated formations.
  • In addition to the above changes, we have redone Walnut's upgrades to align with his kit updates.
Event Augments
  • Golden Offers: One of your weekly offers will be Golden during this event. Golden offers provide an additional 10% discount! The Golden tag persists when an offer is rerolled.
  • Auto-Blacksmith: Event Champions whose recruitment adventure or variants you complete gain common rarity equipment in all slots, if they don't already have better. Every tier two or higher event variant completed automatically applies 100 Tiny Blacksmithing Contracts to the variant's Champion's equipment for free!
  • Challenge Week: A Mastery Challenge will start on the third week of the event, providing opportunities to prove your formation building skills and earn unique rewards.
  • Supercharged Damage Boon: The Global Damage Boon is supercharged, granting 2,000,000% additional damage per level, instead of 200% (stacking multiplicatively). You can check out which Augments are active at any time by mousing over the Event Banner.

While the City of Waterdeep celebrates Dragondown by burning dragon effigies to symbolize the city's victories over invading dragons, some smaller celebrations focus on ceremonial bonfires and charms, with mock-spells and chanted prayers performed as the sun sets.

But something has gone wrong in Luskan this year, where locals have drawn the ire of a Bronze Dragon and its kin..._ Trixie the Pixie, a long-time antagonist to the Champions, often appearing astride a charmed creature and always up to some mischief, finally chooses the winning side and joins the Champions in today's Dragondown Event! Our second Featured Champion, Brother Uriah, will be receiving a significant update, with a new Champion Update blog coming on Friday, June 5th, before his launch next Wednesday, June 10th.

For details on Dragondown Year 9, and the Court of the Summer Queen Celebration, read on!

Trixie

Trixie the Pixie has been a forgettable nuisance for the Champions for a long time, often appearing astride some charmed creature and always up to some mischief. Ambitious and daring, Trixie desperately grasps at a life larger than she's been given, and blames the Champions for their constant meddling in her affairs. Driven to desperation by her many failed attempts at seizing power and influence, Trixie sets out to try a new scheme. She's seen firsthand that the Champions are always hiring. If she can't beat them, she'll join them! Learn more about Trixie in her Champion Spotlight.

Brother Uriah

Brother Uriah Macawber is a native of Ravenloft, born in the dread domain of Darkon under the iron rule of Azalin Rex. Upon joining with the other future members of The Black Dice Society at the infamous House of Lament, Uriah would go on to find true love with his teammate, the undead Aasimar, Nahara... and would eventually discover the dark truth of both the nature of his deity and his mysterious connection to his former liege, the lich-king Azalin Rex.
