Bug Fixes

Alongside the balance changes, the team has been busy clearing up issues reported by the community. The following fixes are now live.

Battle
  • THE TIGERS unit ability was not triggered after a copied, developed, or stolen Countermeasure was triggered. Fixed.

  • The 909th ROSLAVL incorrectly gave Blitz to any unit on the board that became Suppressed. Fixed.

  • Fixed an incorrect interaction between cards with the "Distribute X damage between enemies" ability (e.g. THUNDERSTORM) and effects that increase order damage (e.g. J1N1 GEKKO, IMPERIAL DECREE), which could cause excessive bonus damage to be dealt.

  • If KAWANISHI H8K was deployed while holding 9 cards in hand, selecting a Forecast type could cause the card drawn by its deployment ability to be discarded as though the hand were full, even when space was available. Fixed.

  • The B-26 MARAUDER unit ability did not correctly trigger for the RAAF WALRUS deployment ability. Fixed.

  • If a DO OR DIE was played, and a card with the “Destroyed at end of turn” ability (e.g. added by FRONT FORMATION) was destroyed at the end of turn, DO OR DIE did not trigger. Fixed.

  • The JUNGLE FEVER variant that adds the top unit of your deck to your support line could incorrectly add the second unit instead if the top card had previously been converted by an effect such as the AMERICAN GUARD deployment effect. Fixed.

  • When the CYCLONE variant that causes each unit to deal damage to itself equal to its attack was played, 511th REGIMENT was destroyed instead of becoming Veteran. Fixed.

  • An active ULTRA Countermeasure could be triggered after an opponent's Ki-83 played a RESISTANCE card from the top of the deck. Fixed.

  • A T-70 unit spawned by MOBILE DEFENSE and retreated to hand (e.g. by ZAMOŚĆ UPRISING) remained in hand instead of being discarded or destroyed. Fixed.

  • When a 336th GUARDS NAVAL deployment ability was used to copy a unit in hand to the support line, the Intel icon was not shown on the copied unit in hand. Fixed.

  • After a DECOY TACTICS was played on the BM-13N US6, if a unit attacked the BM-13N US6, the unit was retreated but the discard ability from DECOY TACTICS was not triggered. Fixed.

  • Fixed an interaction between SPARS and EAGLE DAY that could prevent the intended German air unit from entering play after ending the turn.

UI
  • In the Collection menu, when inspected, the ROUTED TROOPS spawnable card was missing from the ROUT card information. Fixed.

  • On an iPhone 13 Mini, the sign-in window was slightly too large, causing the Close button to fall off the screen. Fixed.

  • In the Pack opening screen, when the last pack of a pack type was opened, the image of the pack was updated to the next pack type in order, while the name below the image remained on the last pack type opened. Fixed.

  • The incorrect pack image could sometimes be displayed in the "Packs" section of the Shop. Fixed.

Changes to Draft
Added to card pool
  • 1ER HUSSARDS
  • 39TH BOLOGNA REGIMENT
  • LION FOR A DAY

Key Features of Oceania Storm
Across All Nations: 88 New Cards

Oceania Storm deploys 88 new collectible cards across every nation in the game:

  • 12 new cards for each main nation

  • 20 new cards make up the debut of ANZAC

  • 2 new cards for each other minor nation

From positioning mechanics and token generation to Veteran synergies, air support, resource sacrifice, and weather planning through Forecast, every nation receives new tools and fresh tactical options.

New Ally Nation: ANZAC

Australian and New Zealand forces enter KARDS for the first time with 20 new cards, making ANZAC the latest ally nation to join the fight.

From the Western Desert to the jungles of New Guinea and the island campaigns of the Pacific, ANZAC forces earned a reputation for adaptability, resilience, and making the most of difficult conditions. That same spirit defines their playstyle in KARDS.

ANZAC cards reward strong positioning and battlefield awareness, with powerful effects tied to where units stand on the battlefield and where cards sit in your hand. Forecast and Veteran synergies run throughout the roster, giving ANZAC commanders new ways to adapt to changing battlefield conditions and capitalize on shifting weather patterns.

New Keyword: Forecast

**Forecast **is the signature mechanic of Oceania Storm, bringing the uncertainty of Pacific warfare directly to the battlefield.

Whenever you play a card with Forecast, you choose one of three forecast options: Blue Skies, Mist, or Gale. Think of these as operational forecasts - each one grants access to a different weather type: **Sunny, Rain, **or Storm.

Three weather cards from the selected weather type are then presented at random. Choose one, and it arrives in your hand at the start of your next turn, ready when conditions are right.

Each forecast supports a different approach to the fight:

  • Blue Skies (Sunny) delivers aggressive weather effects, including attack buffs, Blitz, and offensive upgrades designed to maintain momentum. Weather cards in this category include Heatwave, Jungle Fever, and Scorching Sun.

  • Mist (Rain) focuses on control, defense, and battlefield disruption, helping commanders suppress threats, slow enemy advances, and reshape engagements. Weather cards in this category include Deluge, Torrential Rain, and Monsoon Rain.

  • **Gale (Storm) **unleashes destructive weather effects built around removal, disruption, and overwhelming force. Weather cards in this category include Thunderstorm, Tropical Storm, and Cyclone.

The full Forecast roster includes 27 weather cards: 9 Sunny, 9 Rain, and 9 Storm.

With 27 spawn-only weather cards spread across all three weather types, no two Forecast decisions play out quite the same way. Every forecast is a calculated risk - the conditions you set today may determine tomorrow's victory.

New Neutral Spawn-Only Card: Blast

Blast is a new 0-kredit neutral spawn-only card that deals 1 damage to a unit - simple, immediate, and designed for rapid battlefield impact.

As a neutral spawn-only card, Blast can be generated by multiple nations. In Oceania Storm, it appears on British and Soviet cards.

Research Cards for the Soviet Union & Japan

With the arrival of Imperial Research and** Soviet Military Research**, the full Research lineup is now complete across all main nations.

Each Research chain unfolds across three escalating tiers of branching decisions, reflecting a nation's evolving wartime priorities. Early investments establish direction, while the final tier unlocks the most powerful strategic options available.

Special Shop Offers

The storm has reached headquarters. A range of** Oceania Storm offers** is now available in the in-game Shop, featuring expansion card packs and new cosmetic items inspired by the Pacific Theater.

Deploy in style with new cosmetics, or transform the battlefield itself with the latest HQ: Fortress Darwin.

Nation Overview

Every nation receives reinforcements in Oceania Storm, with new mechanics, archetypes, and strategic options inspired by the campaigns and conditions that shaped the war.

Britain

The British Fourteenth Army's campaign in Burma was among the most demanding of the entire war. Battling through dense jungle, monsoon rains, and strained supply lines, they faced not only a determined enemy but one of the harshest environments of the conflict. From the setbacks of 1942 to the decisive victories at Kohima and Imphal and the final advance on Rangoon, they rebuilt their doctrine from the ground up and earned the name of the Forgotten Army.

Britain focuses on cards that did not start in your deck, versatile utility options, and heavy bombers capable of delivering decisive strikes at critical moments.

Germany

Germany played only a limited role in the Pacific, but its forces fought across some of the harshest terrain of the war - from the frozen Eastern Front to the deserts of North Africa and the mountains of Italy. Endurance and operational efficiency often proved just as important as firepower.

Germany centers on repeatedly operating units and extracting maximum value from experienced troops. Veteran synergies reward careful force preservation, turning battle-hardened units into increasingly dangerous assets as the campaign unfolds.

Japan

Japan's war stretched across immense ocean distances, from New Guinea to the islands of Micronesia. As the conflict turned against them and resources dwindled, Japanese doctrine increasingly embraced high-risk decisions, sacrificing long-term stability for immediate battlefield impact.

Japan embraces resource sacrifice as a weapon, fielding cards that grow stronger the more kredits you willingly surrender. Forecast synergies and aggressive air power reinforce constant pressure, while Imperial Research provides Japan's long-awaited Research chain.

The Soviet Union

The Soviet Union entered the Pacific War during its final weeks, launching major operations against Japanese forces in Manchuria in August 1945. Across the wider conflict, however, Soviet forces fought on a scale unmatched anywhere else in the war.

The Soviet Union expands its token-generation capabilities and Veteran synergies, sustaining pressure throughout prolonged engagements. Soviet Military Research completes the Research lineup and offers a new chain of escalating strategic choices for commanders willing to invest in the long game.

The United States

From Guadalcanal to Okinawa, American forces advanced across the Pacific in one of the most ambitious sustained campaigns of the war, fighting through vast island chains, unforgiving terrain, and determined resistance.

The United States leans into infantry tactics, Veteran synergies, and the unpredictability of Forecast. Careful weather planning creates sudden opportunities capable of transforming a hard-fought stalemate into a breakthrough.

Ally Nations

France, Italy, Poland, and Finland each receive new reinforcements tailored to their established identities, deepening existing synergies and opening new tactical possibilities as Oceania Storm reaches every theater of war.

New Rotation Orders Take Effect

Alongside the expansion, KARDS enters a new era of annual rotation. The system establishes a more predictable deployment cycle for card sets while ensuring a stable foundation through the Permanent Card Pool.

Key changes:

  • Card rotation now occurs once per year during Winter and is based on card sets.

  • Oceania Storm marks the final rotation under the previous system.

  • The Permanent Card Pool is now active, with more than 400 cards guaranteed to remain in the active pool indefinitely.

  • Card sets now receive a guaranteed lifespan between 21 and 30 months.

  • Summer expansions receive the longest lifespan, while Spring expansions receive the shortest.

  • Cards returning from Reserves rotate out alongside the expansion that brings them back.

  • Reinforcement mini-sets Air Supremacy and United Front have moved out of the World at War set. Air Supremacy now joins Naval Warfare; United Front joins Blood & Iron.

Full details are available in our dedicated dev blog:

[New Rotation System - Dev Blog](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/544810/view/502853084910716940 style=button)

UI Changes

Some UI changes have been introduced to support the new rotation system, making it easier to track which cards are in the Permanent Pool, when cards rotate out, and how to prioritize your collection.

Permanent Pool Filter

A new filter in the Collection view lets you view only cards in the Permanent Pool at a glance.

The full Permanent Card Pool list is also available here:

[KARDS Permanent Card Pool List](https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/544810/view/684127409046291330 style=button)

New Collection Details

When viewing a card in your collection, a new information field displays whether the card belongs to the Permanent Pool or, if it rotates, which set it rotates out with and when.

Set Movement

**Air Supremacy and United Front have moved out of the World at War set **and into the sets of their preceding major expansions.

  • Air Supremacy now joins Naval Warfare

  • United Front now joins Blood & Iron

This change affects Collection Overview completion rates for Naval Warfare, Blood & Iron, and World at War and may impact related Collection Achievements. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

ANZAC Permanent Card Pool

With the introduction of ANZAC, its Permanent Card Pool is now established. The following cards are part of the ANZAC Permanent Card Pool:

  • Dingo

  • 6th Brigade NZ

  • Maori Battalion

Oceania Storm also brings the final rotation under the previous system. 23 cards return to active duty, while 128 are transferred to the Reserve pool.

The storm has made landfall.

Oceania Storm, the KARDS 2026 Summer Expansion, is available now, bringing 88 collectible cards, the brand-new ANZAC ally nation, and a dynamic weather system that reshapes the battlefield one Forecast at a time. The Pacific Front awaits.

https://youtu.be/T1yRRj-xTnU

A New Nation Enters the Fight

For the first time in KARDS, Australian and New Zealand forces take the field as a fully playable minor (ally) nation. ANZAC troops fought across multiple theaters of the Second World War, from the deserts of North Africa to the jungles of New Guinea, earning a reputation for resilience, ingenuity, and determination.

Those qualities define the ANZAC roster. Their cards reward positioning and battlefield awareness, unlocking powerful effects based on where units are positioned on the battlefield or where cards sit in your hand. Forecast and Veteran synergies run throughout the nation, creating opportunities that can be as rewarding as they are unpredictable.

The Winds of War

Forecast is the signature keyword of Oceania Storm, bringing the shifting conditions of the Pacific theater directly into battle. When you play a card with Forecast, you choose one of three weather types: Blue Skies, Mist, or Gale. Three weather cards from your chosen type are then presented at random - choose one, and it arrives in your hand at the start of your next turn, ready when the moment calls for it.

Each condition offers a different approach to the battlefield. Blue Skies delivers aggressive offensive tools through Sunny weather. Mist brings Rain, helping you defend, control, and reshape the fight. Gale unleashes Storm, a destructive force capable of disrupting plans and breaking deadlocks.

With 27 spawn-only weather cards available through Forecast, every decision carries both opportunity and uncertainty. Plan ahead, adapt to changing conditions, and turn the forecast to your advantage.

Reinforcements for Every Nation

Oceania Storm expands the arsenal of every nation, introducing new strategies and fresh ways to wage war.

The United States strengthens its infantry tactics and Veteran synergies, with Forecast adding another layer of flexibility to an already formidable force.

Japan leans into self-kredit denial and aggressive air power while finally receiving its long-awaited Research cards through Imperial Research. Alongside Soviet Military Research, the full Research lineup is now complete across all main nations.

The Soviet Union rallies around token generation and Veteran triggers, maintaining relentless pressure across long campaigns while gaining access to Soviet Military Research for the first time.

Britain draws strength from cards beyond the starting deck, versatile utility tools, and heavy bomber support inspired by the grueling Burma campaign and the hard-earned experience of the Forgotten Army.

Germany focuses on extracting maximum value from operating units, rewarding commanders who can maintain steady pressure and efficient battlefield control, with a supporting Veteran theme.

Ally nations France, Italy, Poland, and Finland also receive reinforcements tailored to their established identities, deepening existing synergies and opening new tactical possibilities.

Bug Fixes
  • A card with the “Show when drawn” ability would incorrectly trigger if overdrawn while the hand was full. Fixed.

  • A 4TP spawned by DANUTA was not properly destroyed at the end of the turn if DANUTA had been Suppressed. Fixed.

  • When attacking 22nd MARINES, the T-34-85 1945 incorrectly took 1 damage if a Navy card was on top of the enemy deck. Fixed.

  • SALLY, U-16, and ZAMOŚĆ UPRISING could target units with the “Cannot be retreated” ability. Fixed.

  • 31 ALGÉRIENS played the incorrect (order) sound effect upon deployment. Fixed.

  • Units removed by SENDAI REGIMENT or KYOTO REGIMENT were not correctly returned to the battlefield if the source unit was converted or removed. Fixed.

  • Battlefields for the Moscow, Guadalcanal, and Tunis City HQs were incorrectly assigned. Fixed.

  • SOMUA S35’s ability could incorrectly trigger when put into play via ILYUSHIN IL-2. Fixed.

  • The client could briefly stutter when using cards with “Destroy a friendly unit” effects (e.g. URAL FACTORIES). Fixed.

In addition to the fixes listed above, we’ve implemented several behind-the-scenes improvements to ensure smoother operations across the battlefield.

Homefront – Early War Is Live!

Hello, Commanders!

Homefront – Early War is now available. This mini-set turns the clock back to the opening phase of World War 2, when battle lines were still being drawn and early breakthroughs could decide the shape of the war to come.

This release is a reinforcement mini-set for Homefront, expanding the set’s themes with 24 brand-new cards: 4 cards for each main nation (Germany, Britain, Japan, USA, Soviet Union) and 1 card for each ally nation (Finland, France, Poland, Italy).

Homefront – Early War is part of the Homefront card set. That means:

  • Early War cards may also be available in select, time limited shop bundles

We would also like to remind you that Homefront – Early War does not feature any card rotation - no cards will move into the Reserve pool with this release.
