Today we have deployed an update for Phasmophobia that addresses several issues that were raised following last week’s update. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback and helped us identify these issues.

  • Fixed an issue that caused Photo Cameras to interfere with other player animations.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Photo Camera’s Use animation to not play in Multiplayer.

Known Issues

  • If a Flashlight is not picked up, hotkeys are assigned in this order: 2, 3, 1. If a Flashlight is picked up, it will default to 1. A following patch will address this issue, with Equipment being assigned in the order they are picked up. Igniters will however always default to 4.

Today we have released Phasmophobia v0.18.0.0, our latest update that brings our reworked 13 Willow Street map as well as our first Quality of Life update for 2026. Patch notes can be found below.

New

  • **13 Willow Street Rework: **The map has received a full visual overhaul, with new assets, props and more available to discover during your contracts. The original layout remains, however some rooms have been repurposed and the flow of several rooms has been edited to improve gameplay.

  • Adding keybinds for Equipment slots. PC players will be able to switch Equipment with the 1, 2, 3 and 4 keys. These keys can be rebound.

  • This addition will only be available for PC players.

  • Adding a keybind to be able to inspect the Watch at any time.

  • This will be defaulted to Left DPAD on a controller and H on keyboard. Players can rebind this via Options > Controls.

  • A separate Photo can now be taken capturing a EMF Level 5 reading.

  • Photo Cameras will now feature the same highlight frame as Video Cameras.

  • On screen indicator only on Tier 2 and 3 Photo Cameras, while Tier 1 will have the light change colour from red to green.

  • When capturing Media, if multiple are present, the evidence that provides the biggest reward or is Unique will be prioritised.

  • New Ghost: the Deildegast

  • Players will have a higher chance of getting this Ghost in their contracts for the first few weeks following release.

  • Added new walking animations and turning animations to fix several issues:

  • Character legs will no longer use procedural IK and will instead use animations.

  • The character body will no longer animate with the walking animations which caused held items to move while walking.

  • Improvements to the overall VR character:

  • New character animations.

  • Improvements to the belt to improve usability.

Today we have released our latest update for Phasmophobia, addressing several known issues in the game.

We are aware of the current ongoing issues in-game and are currently implementing fixes and improvements in future updates for Phasmophobia. We’ll be sharing our plans for the rest of 2026 later this month with you all, including a timeline for fixes and updates related to both the Player Character Update and game in general. In the meantime, please continue to provide feedback and bug reports so that our team can investigate as much as possible. You can submit any and all issues via our Support Centre.

  • Players across all platforms are experiencing issues with voice recognition/voice chat. A fix is being investigated.

Please note: Following this update, players on Windows 7/8 or other out-of-date Windows installs may need to run Windows Update (and restart) for voice chat to connect. This is due to a recent security certificate update on our voice servers. More info can be found here.

Today we’ve released the **Player Character Update **for Phasmophobia. The update is out now on all platforms where Phasmophobia is available.

Patch notes are available below.

New

  • Characters: 12 new, higher quality character models (6 male, 6 female) with character bios, adjustable hair colour and more.

  • Cosmetics: A wide array of available cosmetic items to equip your chosen character with; coats, shirts and trousers, all with multiple colour options. Unique shirts for prestige and event specific achievements. Accessories such as piercings, hats and glasses are also available. _Note: All cosmetics are either unlockable in-game or purchased with in-game currency. _

  • **Animations: **Alongside the new character models, interactions with equipment, objects and the environment will now feature character animations. Upon dying, a new death animation will also be seen.

  • PC VR Players can enable/disable new first-person death animations with the ‘immersive animations’ toggle in the options menu, as seen below. If disabled, which is the default, the new death animation will be seen in third-person.

  • **Player Watch: **A watch has been added to the character models that can be used during contracts to monitor player sanity levels and keep track of time elapsed during the contract. To view the watch in full, players can hold the Use button when their left hand is empty or by opening their Journal. The watch will not display Sanity if the Sanity Monitor is disabled, nor will it count as a piece of electronic equipment for Ghost abilities.

  • For VR Players, the watch will always be visible and can be viewed by simply raising their left hand up.

  • **Cursed Hollow Cosmetics: **The Cursed Hollow cosmetic rewards are now available for all players. The Cursed Hollow Mask, T-Shirt and Necklace can be equipped from within the customisation Shop.

Changes

  • **ID Cards: **ID Cards and Badges are now equipped and swapped within the customisation Shop menu, rather than the main menu.

  • **Death Room: **The room a player will enter after being killed by the Ghost has been removed, with the player now seamlessly transitioning to the Dead state.

  • **Player’s Journal: **The Journal will now appear in game when being used, rather than being a separate UI item.

  • The Prestige limit has been increased to 4000.

  • Note: No additional unlocks are available after Prestige 20.

  • Physics have been added to all Doors, meaning they will now continue to move after the player lets go.

  • Flashlights will now be held in the player’s left hand, and can be dropped when the right hand is empty.

  • Equipment, such as the tripod, can now be placed while standing.

  • All items will now be placed on the character model, rather than invisible unless equipped.

  • Tier 2 Sound Recorders are now included in the Audio Only weekly challenge.

  • The lowest FOV option is now 70, rather than 60. The default setting remains at 70.

  • VR Specific Changes:

  • The inventory belt has been removed, with all items now placed on the character model.

  • The teleport movement circle will now render on top of other objects and will be invisible until the player presses the teleport button when at full stamina.

  • Fixed an issue that caused Head Gear to not be visible on all FOV values.

  • Fixed an issue in Prison where wishing for a trap with the Monkey’s Paw wouldn’t affect sliding doors.

  • Fixed an issue where the Jinn could drain sanity from a player in rooms above and below it.

The below are issues that we are aware of in-game and currently investigating a fix. In some cases, a fix is already planned for a future update. Known Issues

  • Players are unable to use the Journal while dying.

  • ‘Use’ animations may continue if the equipment is dropped mid-animation.

  • A drop in frame-rate occurs in the customisation menu.

  • Players will be invisible on CCTV through another player’s Tier 1 Head Gear.

  • Flashlights will remain in the player's hand when using a Tier 1 Photo Camera.

  • The Video Camera can be moved away from the player when switched out while in use.

  • The character model's eyes will be wide open after the player has died.

  • The custom difficulty setting “Doors starting open” will only work on Tanglewood.

  • Footstep audio will not correctly match the player's speed when sprinting or crouching.

  • Doors can be held shut by players holding items.

  • VR and Non-VR players can’t hear each others footsteps.

  • Various minor visual inconsistencies.

_The following issues, as well as other known bugs, will be fixed with the launch of Phasmophobia's next update on May 12th, 2026: _

  • Items placed during a pickup animation will instead be placed at the previous placed position.

  • Pressing cancel on the hair customisation screen will apply the hair to the previously selected character.

  • Yurei’s door closing ability will not fully close the door.

  • Some ID Card badge icons become white if the player selects a badge that only has one unlock out of two.

  • Grabbing a Flashlight with a prop in-hand will cause the flashlight to be held at the player’s feet.

  • Meg Marr’s hair is bald when wearing a hat.

  • The Ouija Board and Haunted Mirror will drop sideways instead of flat on the ground.

  • Doors will not open correctly while holding the Tarot Cards.

  • If revived while crouching, the character rig will display incorrectly.

  • Head Gear will visually stutter when the player is crouched.

  • Equipment will visually stutter when the player is rotating.

  • Tier 3 Video Camera blocks too much of the screen on the right hand side.

  • Player model will ragdoll more than intended upon dying.

  • Hunted and Suburbanite descriptions have been corrected.

  • Animated ID Card & Badges will be displayed correctly.

  • VR Players feet will sink into the ground when crouched.

  • VR Players are unable to open the left hand closet door in the upstairs hallway of 10 Ridgeview Court.

We will also be making the following changes as part of the same update:

  • Removing the equipment switching animation to allow for instant switching.

  • Salt will be placed instantly instead of after the animation has finished.

  • Equipment will be moved closer to the screen for easier readability.

  • Player head rotation will now have a limit for looking up and down for Multiplayer, locally there is still no limit.

  • Various other visual and gameplay adjustments and improvements.

Phasmophobia - Cursed Hollow v0.16.1.0

Welcome back, Ghost Hunters. We’ve got an update for you.

Today we’re excited to kick-off 2026’s iteration of Cursed Hollow, Phasmophobia’s annual springtime in-game event. As detailed previously, we’re tasking Ghost Hunters to once again work together to unlock rewards by taking part in event activities on the event specific maps.

Full details can be found via the linked blog above and below you’ll find today’s patch notes.

New

  • **Cursed Hollow: **Complete contracts, objectionable objectives and more to earn points towards both Community & Personal goals. Each day, a different selection of locations will be specified on the contract board to be a part of the event. For more details, read here.

  • **Double XP & Rewards: **For the first week of the event (31st March - 7th April), players will receive double XP and rewards from their contracts.

  • **Cursed Hollow Rewards: **On completing the goals, players will be rewarded with event-specific rewards such as the Pathfinder ID Card & Badge, in both static and animated versions.

As part of the Cursed Hollow rewards, players will notice that we are offering cosmetic rewards for the first time. Going forward, this will be the case for every seasonal event.

For this year’s Cursed Hollow only, while the challenge can be completed during the event, the rewards themselves will only be available at the launch of our Player Character Update, due for release soon. Players that successfully complete the Cursed Hollow Cosmetics personal goal will be able to view and equip these items as soon as the update is available.

To that end, we wanted to provide a preview of the rewards themselves so Ghost Hunters know what they are working towards.

Changes

  • When revealing a ‘lucky’ Forest Minion, the ghost speed will decrease by 10%. This is stackable.

  • When revealing an ‘unlucky’ Forest Minion, the ghost speed will increase by 10%. This is stackable.

Fixes

  • The Cursed Hollow Altar in the warehouse will now transform correctly upon certain goals being achieved by the community and player.

  • Fixed an issue on 6 Tanglewood Drive that caused rain during Blood Moon weather to not have any audio.

  • **Double XP & Rewards: **For the first week of Winter’s Jest (16th - 23rd, 12PM GMT), players will be able to earn Double XP and money from all investigations.

  • Banshee will now only present as female (names and ghost models).

  • Krampus is now defined as male and will only present as so (names and ghost models).

  • Ghost types are now sorted alphabetically in the Journal. (English language only)

  • Nell’s Diner now unlocks for players at Level 5.

Nell’s Diner has opened it’s doors. Phasmophobia’s newest map is now live across all platforms - Steam, PS5, PS VR2 and Xbox Series X/S.

In order to access Nell’s Diner, make sure your version of Phasmophobia is up to date (v0.15.0.0).

  • **Nell’s Diner: **Nell’s Diner is the newest map of Phasmophobia. Similar in size to 6 Tanglewood Drive, but much denser with a wide array of new interactable objects for both players and ghosts. Consisting of 14 rooms total, with 13 possible ghost rooms - including a walk-in freezer room - there’s plenty for Ghost Hunters to discover.

  • Moneybags: We’ve added the new Moneybags ID Card & Badge with this update. This’ll unlock once the player has earned the ‘Break the Bank’ achievement.

  • If you have already earned the achievement, this ID Card will unlock upon completing your first contract after downloading the update.

  • Fixed an issue that caused no audio to play when a light is shattered during a ghost event.

  • Moon Altars: A change to these means that they will now appear as ‘Usable’ in game, and once interacted with will disappear. Remember to take a photo before interacting with an Altar, it’ll count as a Unique piece of Media!

  • While the event Trophy remains the same as the 2024 event’s, it is now upgradeable upon completing Personal Goals. The Crimson Eye trophy can be upgraded up to three times during the event, and progression will carry through to the next Crimson Eye event.

  • We have added leaderboard support for in-game events to the PS5, PS VR2 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Phasmophobia.

Changes

  • If crossplay is turned off, only players on the same platform will be displayed on the event leaderboard.

Fixes

  • Fixed various visual and performance issues.

Phasmophobia 5th Anniversary v.0.14.1.0

Welcome back, Ghost Hunters. We’ve got an update for you.

Today, we have deployed a small update to Phasmophobia that brings with it our 5th Anniversary celebration in-game. For details on what we have planned to mark this moment, head to our recent blogpost.

Patch notes are below:

New

  • 5th Anniversary Celebration: To mark Phasmophobia’s 5th anniversary, the main lobby has been adorned with all manner of birthday decor.

  • Anniversary Bonus: Between 15th September and 21st September, all players will earn double XP and money from all activities! This will appear as a “5th Anniversary - x2” modifier in the Debriefing screen.

  • Anniversary Login Reward: Log in during the anniversary week to receive an exclusive anniversary-themed badge—a thank you for being part of 5 years of Phasmophobia.

Changes

  • The Twitch Drops pop-up now displays the username of the connected Twitch account, making it easier to confirm the player’s account is linked correctly.

  • Added a Disconnect button to the Twitch Drops pop-up, allowing the player to unlink their Twitch account directly from the popup for added convenience.

Phasmophobia Hotfix v0.14.0.1

Today, we have deployed a hotfix for Phasmophobia across all platforms. This addresses issues that arose following the release of the Grafton Farmhouse rework. Thank you to those members of the Phasmophobia community who helped identify these.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that caused Twitch Drop rewards to only appear in-game after restarting and launching a lobby.

  • Fixed an issue on Xbox Series X/S that would cause the CCTV unit screen to go dark after placing multiple cameras in Grafton Farmhouse. This would then cause the player that placed these to disconnect.

  • Fixed an issue that caused mannequins to hover and clip through the environment after moving.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the player to become stuck in the downstairs bathroom in Grafton Farmhouse.

  • Fixed an issue that caused missing text when saving custom difficulties.

  • Fixed an issue that caused line-of-sight issues above the dining room table in Grafton Farmhouse.

  • Fixed several visual issues when a player was using hiding spots in Grafton Farmhouse.

  • Fixed an issue that would cause thrown items to become lost if thrown from the upstairs table in Grafton Farmhouse.

  • Fixed an issue that incorrectly classed distorted music Media as a Ghost Video.
