Hey Champions!

Summer has officially arrived and with it comes our new update - Splash Damage! Not only have we been cooking up some highly requested Quality of Life upgrades, but we’ve also got our new Hero and the next installment of Daybreak. Let’s take a look!

New Hero: Ikra

Deep within the oceans of Velrune lies the Ebonreef, an ancient, long-forgotten kingdom of amphibious beings. For generations, they have remained hidden in the deep, guarding immense power and long-lost water magi-tech.

But peace never lasts. When surface-dwelling mining colonies invaded the sacred territories of the deep, the Ebonreef was forced to answer.

Chosen as the elite defender of his kingdom, Ikra strikes with the ferocity of the ocean itself. He is a stoic tactician, possessing a profound serenity that masks a terrifying, inevitable threat on the battlefield. Violence is always his last resort, but when the secrets of the Ebonreef are threatened, he will destroy any invaders without hesitation. The tide is rising, and the world above is not prepared for what lies beneath.

Additional Features
Rank Split Reset

Split 4 ends on Tuesday with the release of 1.15 so be sure to get your peak Rank this weekend and lock in your end of Split rewards.

Finishing Placements and winning at least 1 game will get you a Banner and Icon to represent your peak Rank achieved during Split 4.

If you win 15 games you will unlock the Gatekeeper Terra Skin and additional variants if your peak rank was Gold or higher.

We are moving into Split 5 and are planning to run it until V1.18 - 18 weeks, similar to Split 4 instead of the 12 weeks we have done in the past. We are currently investigating when to move to Season 2 and hope to align it with some requested Ranked features and ideally, the full release of Daybreak when it is ready. Keep an eye out for news on this in the future!

All players will start in placements and have 5 or 10 matches to complete to get placed into the new system.

Lastly we have fixed a bug in the internal MMR system that was causing players who played a larger amount of games to get inflated MMR in certain situations. With this we are reducing the MMR of all Diamond and Paragon players back down to Platinum so MMR can correctly calibrate.

Toxicity Improvements

This patch we are rolling out a more aggressive ban policy and will continue iterating on this over the next few months. We have been testing out how accurate our detection is and we are allowing it to hand out more aggressive bans.

  • Players are now correctly informed when they receive a chat ban with the duration of the ban
  • Players will now get chat banned at a higher rate, for increasing longer times automatically
  • Fixed a bug where players were not correctly banned from Voice chat when banned from text chat
  • Players will now get banned at a higher rate from matchmaking for increasing longer times automatically based on in game tracking and player reports
  • Dodging draft bans now correctly stack over multiple games.
Quality Of Life Improvements
Frontend Improvements:

We have new and improved background scenes and lighting across the Main Menu and Draft to ensure all of your favourite Heroes and Skin are always shown in the best light. You should notice this gives the Menus a more premium feel!

New Opal Effects

We've spruced up the cosmetic Opal effect with an all-new holographic look!

You'll notice the new effect in the Store and your Collection page, as well as on the loading screen when you equip an Opal skin! We're working on adding this effect to your profile cosmetics too so you can show them off to your friends (or enemies), so keep an eye out for this in a future update.

Aram in Custom Games:

Aram can now be selected as a queue for custom games and supports varied team size. Keep an eye out for some community tournaments soon!

Minion AI Improvements:

We have made long-requested adjustments to the Minion AI, fixing instances that caused Minions to ignore Players after aggro was dropped. Now that this is resolved, Minions will now no longer ignore the player for a short duration after an aggro break has occurred!

Last-hit Consistency:

Additionally, we have adjusted Minion vs Minion behaviour, making stacked waves less likely to kill Enemy Minions through excessive damage layering, making Last-Hitting more consistent for Players that are battling alongside their Minions!

Tower Attack Rate Consistency Improvements:

Towers have been adjusted, with their rate of attack now being more consistent and predictable for Players that are attempting to farm successfully under their Tower, or looking to dive a vulnerable Enemy.

This change removes the cases of “instant fire” that Towers were capable of before, which would lead to many frustrating and unpredictable cases of a Tower Shot striking a Minion or Player on aggro-switch with no warning.

As a result, farming under Tower should feel more consistent and skillful, being less prone to randomness from the Tower’s attack rate as it now always has a small delay before attacking when switching targets, while multi-man dives should feel more consistent to achieve as the Tower will no longer have the chance to instantly blast a player if its aggro is juggled.

Critical Strike Pseudo-Randomness:

The way we calculate the odds of success for a Critical Strike have been adjusted!

Before, it was truly random, which could lead to some extremely variable outcomes, such as back to back to back Critical Strikes at low values, or never getting a Critical Strike even after striking 10 times at higher values of Critical Chance. To resolve this and reduce the number of outlier success and failure rates, a Player’s chance to Critically Strike is now dynamically adjusted based on the most recent Critical Strike.

In simple terms, this means that the more times you fail to Crit, the more likely your next attack is to Crit. Likewise, if you achieve a Critical Strike, your next attack is less likely to be a Crit.

While we won’t be disclosing the exact functionality of how the Dynamic Critical Strike System is calculated, you can rest assured that there are safeguards in place to prevent abuse cases that aim to manipulate Critical Strike RNG.

Controller Sensitivity Adjustments:

We've made some adjustments to the default controller sensitivity settings based on player feedback, generally lowering the values a little to smoothen the experience. If you have already set your own sensitivity values they will not be affected, however, if you return to default, you'll notice the change.

Jungle Improvements

Camp Leader Current Health Damage:

Camp Leaders within a Monster Camp now deal Current Health Damage, alongside some flat damage. This not only helps normalize the Health gap between Healing Junglers and non-Healing Junglers, but also helps ensure that Junglers are not always present and able to spam-gank on the map at 100% Health. As a result, Junglers will be more vulnerable while clearing their camps, and at a greater risk of being counter-killed when ganking a lane. In exchange, Hunt’s Slay effect now heals the User to help Junglers top up their Health, so plan accordingly!

Full damage values and additional context can be found in the Balance Section below!

Hunt Damage:

Hunt now displays the damage it deals on its Icon on the player’s HUD, making it easier to tell how much damage its Slay effect is doing!

Jungle Camp CS Standardization:

All Jungle Camps have had their Creep Score (CS) value adjusted to be 5, making it easier for Junglers to track the number of Camps killed by their opponent in the early game, making the skill of CS tracking more accessible and intuitive to all Players, rather than just the top 1% that have memorized the individual CS values of each camp.

Monster Special Ability Bug Cleanup:

We have adjusted both the Seedling and Mini Prime Area of Effect (AoE) Attack hitboxes to better match their visuals, as well as the Mini Prime Knockback Hitbox no longer lingering for a few frames!

Blink/Ultimate HUD Indicator Enlargement:

The indicators that represent each team-mates Blink and Ultimate Ability availability have been enlarged, making them easier to see for all Users.

New and Returning Items

Earth Spirit has been removed, and is being replaced by a new Titan Crest Evolution called “Gamma Gloop” that grants access to a disruptive Grounding effect for Tanks to utilize!

Additionally, Rebirth has been reworked, boasting a new statline, a simpler resurrection effect, and some SFX/VFX improvements to accompany it!

\ Gamma Gloop:

  • Replaces: Earth Spirit
  • Crestline: Titan Crest
  • 180 Health
  • 8 Physical Armor
  • 5 Magical Armor
  • Active Effect - Gob Glue: Deal 80 (+3% Bonus Health) magical damage in a 550u radius around you that Grounds Enemies hit for 1.5s. A field of Goo is then left behind at the location for 5s that Slows Enemies in the area by 30%. If this Active Effect is activated while mid-air, you leap into the air in your current movement direction, with Gob Glue’s Effects triggering upon landing.

\ Rebirth:

  • Class: Moved from Frontline to Fighter
  • Cost: Increased from 2600 to 2800
  • 50 Physical Power added
  • 300 Health added
  • 40 Physical Armor removed
  • 35 Magical Armor removed
  • 10 Ability Haste removed
  • Recipe: Greatsword + Banded Emerald + 750g
  • \ Effect - Mechanica: Upon dying, enter a Resurrection state for 3s. After this duration has elapsed, you Resurrect at your location with 50% Base Health and 50% Max Mana.

Daybreak V6 brings a whole host of enhancements to the current layout, as we get closer to completion before handing it over to the art team to begin the process of making it look amazing! • Jungle corners made clearer, along with paths being easy to identify, removing all the jagged edges for corners, and also adding more paths for rotations and adding assists for faster rotations between the jungles
  • Added more ways to get in behind towers and additional ways to dive towers
  • Orb Prime pit gets a shake-up, adding more ways in/out

Balance Changes
Overview:

For this pass, we are primarily looking at smoothing out the gameplay experience and tidying up some of the balance/gameplay loop fallout that has occurred with the addition of the Eternals and the power they have provided. Specifically, this is being done by rounding out the rough edges for some of the more extreme balance outliers and Eternals that are causing extreme power spikes or offering too much/too little general value, with it hopefully resulting in a more well-rounded balance baseline. As we mentioned in the v1.14 update, our plan moving forward is to continue refining the balance ecosystem with the new Eternals in mind, which naturally will take a few more passes to get into a nice and stable spot, but for now this should be a positive step forward.

  • Addition of some new Magical Power and Physical Power hybrid scalings to various Hero Abilities, opening up Eternal and Build diversity further.
  • Tower Durability & Damage increased.
  • Minion Durability increased.
  • Hunt’s Slay Damage increased to 600/1200.
  • Monster Durability increased slightly to compensate for the Hunt change.
  • Various adjustments and reworks to Eternal Blessings to help address problem-cases, or make the lesser-picked options more viable in strength compared to the more popular options.
  • Small increases to the base damage of various abilities (primarily Mages and Bruisers) to ensure their damage stays a little more relevant at the Level 3-9 thresholds as Durability spikes can result in the inability to adequately threaten kills at that range.
  • General Hero Balance to bring the extreme outliers further into general parity.
  • Buffs to some Fighter and Anti-tank Items.
  • ARAM Tower Durability/Damage increases.
  • And more!

Hey Champions!

V1.14: Harbingers of Ruin is almost upon us, an update which is sure to redefine the meta with Eternals, our biggest Hero customisation system ever, as well as an incredible new Hero and more! Let’s dive in.

New Hero: Legion

From the world of Aresium comes the highly decorated shock trooper, Legion. A fanatical hand of an empire dedicated to bringing the galaxy under a single, united rule. Produced for absolute loyalty and peak efficiency, he has survived countless battles as a disciplined instrument of the Aresium Empire, a force that seeks to "liberate" the stars from the chaos of tyrannical freedom.

For generations, his batch-engineered brothers have served as a righteous hand of order, mastering the arts of battlefield logistics and ballistic weaponry to crush any who would oppose their mandate. As a total believer in the cause, Legion revels in the destruction of his enemies, finding his greatest joy in fighting and dying for the glorious empire that gave him life.

Legion’s newest mission has seen him deployed as a heavy-weapons anchor to far-flung battlefields, tasked with enforcing imperial doctrine by any means necessary. He descends upon the front line not as a mere soldier, but as a siege engine of order, stopping at nothing to ensure total purification and the expansion of the Empire’s reach.

K-75 Storm Rifle [Basic Attack]:

Type: Ranged

**Range: **1500u

Effect: Legion’s K-75 Storm Rifle fires at a fixed rate of 1 Round every 0.2s, with a 15 Round Mag.

Legion’s Rifle Regenerates Ammo at a rate of 1 per 0.2s after not attacking for 1.25s, and he will automatically Reload if his Mag’ is fully exhausted.

Each shot deals 20 (+17% Bonus Physical Power) Physical Damage, increased by 1.25% per 1 Physical Penetration Legion possesses.

Saturation Charge :

CD: 20/19/18/17/16s

Cost: 70/75/80/85/90 Mana

Effect: Legion fires a heavy payload that deploys 10 Cluster Mines upon hitting the world or upon reactivation. Each Cluster Mine deals 35/45/55/65/75 (+50% Bonus Physical Power)(+40% Magical Power) Physical Damage and Slows targets hit by 40% for 1s.

Cluster Mine damage is decreased to 25% against the same Target for subsequent Mine hits beyond the first.

Rally Point :

**CD: **30/28.5/27/25.5/24s

Cost: 35 Mana

Effect: Legion becomes Unstoppable for 0.5s and slams his Standard into the ground at his feet, dealing 20/25/30/35/40 (+20% Bonus Physical Power) Physical Damage and Knocking Back nearby enemies.

The Standard creates a large zone that lasts for 8s. While in the zone, Legion gains Infinite Ammo. Legion and Allied Heroes also gain 8% Movement Speed and 5/8/11/14/17 (+110% Physical Penetration)(+10% Magical Power) Health Regeneration while in the zone.

Frag Order :

CD: 16/15/14/13/12s

Cost: 50

**Effect: **Legion prepares a grenade with a 2.2s fuse, able to hold it to cook the grenade, reducing the time before its detonation.

Upon releasing, Legion lobs the grenade to a target location, dealing 70/110/150/190/230 (+60/65/70/75/80% Bonus Physical Power)(+40% Magical Power) Physical Damage upon detonation.

The grenade will automatically explode after 0.2s if it detects an Enemy Unit within a 300u radius.

CD: 140/125/110s

Cost: 100

Press The Advantage:

The Harbingers of Ruin battlepass is here! Filled to the brim with awesome rewards on both the free and paid tracks.

Eternals

Eternals are powerful deities in the Predecessor universe, capable of granting meta-defining “blessings” to worthy Heroes who choose to follow them.

This is a massive new gameplay system that redefines Hero customisation in the game, enabling you to pick from a huge range of Blessings for any Hero you want. Blessings range from high-risk berserker types, who thrive under near-death situations with extreme lifesteal, to unbreakable tanks who scale Max HP infinitely, and everything in between!

How Eternals Works

Eternals are a new gameplay customization feature, replacing the Minor Augments. Eternals allow Players to select one of twelve Deities during the Draft Phase of a Match, based on their gameplay preferences.

Each Deity offers the Player that selects them a powerful unique Major Blessing which is a Passive Effect that persists throughout a match.

Additionally, after choosing an Eternal, Players can choose 2 additional Minor Blessings from 2 sets of 3 Minor Blessings that are unique to that specific Eternal.

Eternal Blessings, like Augments, are active from Match start and, once selected for the first time, will be remembered across matches on a per Hero, per role basis, unless you change them. This means if you pick Eternals for Argus in Midlane, and want to play him again in your next match in the same role, the system will remember. If you take him into Support instead, it will go back to the recommended until you change your Eternals for Argus in Support.

In simpler terms, you now start the match with:

  • 1 Hero Augment.
  • 1 Eternal Major Blessing.
  • 2 Eternal Minor Blessings.

Unlocking Eternals

All 12 Eternals will be unlocked when a player reaches level 10. Players that have not yet reached Level 10 will automatically be given pre-determined Eternals, and respective Minor Blessings, based on their Hero/Role chosen.

Types of Eternals

Eternals are thematically grouped based on gameplay archetypes and lore. However, these groupings are not prescriptive for gameplay, so we encourage Players to experiment with the Eternals.

In other words, this means that you do not necessarily need to take a “Carry Eternal” while playing as a Carry in order to find success, and could try a “Fighter” or “Supportive” Eternal instead if they synergize well with your Hero or Build!

Daybreak V5

We’ve got another substantial update coming to Daybreak, our new WIP map! We’ve been hard at work going through your feedback from the last version to bring a bunch of highly requested additions and changes to improve the flow and overall gameplay experience.

V5 should improve the following core pain points:

  • Jungle flow should feel better in terms of Navigation and Pathing
  • Junglers attempting to gank lanes from a Camp should find the flow a lot more natural.
  • The constant pressure and chaos of the River Bugs in the Jungle respawning repeatedly should be reduced and the Jungle Bugs should make Jungle pathing feel more intentional and tactical.
  • Moments where a Player hits dead-ends due to unintuitive terrain and feeling trapped as a result should be reduced significantly.
  • Shrines grant side-lanes an additional mini-objective to fight over for increased interaction, reducing the frequency of freeze-heavy/overly passive gameplay.
  • The map feeling overly large should feel reduced through the combination of layout and aesthetic changes applied.
  • Game Speed should feel slightly faster and more engaging, with the additional gold and XP available on the map (and the adjustments to the objectives helping to provide new areas to contest) helping games to wrap up more naturally between the 25-35m mark.
  • Various Bugfixes regarding the Terrain and Collisions.

Overall, by taking our learnings from the feedback offered on v3/v4, and actioning the largest pain points expressed by Players in previous tests, with Daybreak v5 we have hopefully created something that Players enjoy a lot more, both in terms of moment-to-moment gameplay and how it feels to explore and navigate. So be sure to let us know what you think on Discord and Reddit!

Daybreak V5 - Mechanics Breakdown

Terrain & Layout Changes

  • General adjustments to the elevation/height around the map to feel less steep.
  • Full Rework of both Jungles, including their Terrain and Camp locations.
  • Lane entrances Reworked for all 3 lanes, further improving the approaches and Line Of Sight (LOS) issues in previous versions.
  • Increased the size of the Bases for both Teams, primarily around the Core area.
  • Fangtooth and Orb Prime Pits general Layout and Size Adjustments.
  • Midlane reworked with various adjustments to its curvature and landscape.
  • Duolane slight rework, primarily targeting improvements around the previously unhealthy Bush locations and the overly punishing gameplay they promoted.
  • Offlane slight rework, primarily to make the lane feel a little more interactive and dynamic on the edges of the lane, and less of an Island that made others feel unable to interact with it.
  • Distance between Towers and general spacing adjusted.
Objectives

Shrines

  • Added New Objective: Shrines
  • Locations:
  • Inner side of Duolane.
  • Inner Side of Offlane.

  • Blue Jungle = Pink Bug.
  • Note: For testing simplicity, they currently have the same stats and grant the same Buffs as their River counterparts, but do not Evolve.
  • Initial Spawn Time: 210s.
  • Respawn Time: 120s (No longer on a fixed 2m spawn cycle like River Bugs).

Gold & Cyan Buff Balance

  • Gold Buff now grants more Gold, but less XP.
  • Cyan Buff now grants more XP, but less Gold.

Over millennia, her family has ruled this Kingdom with an iron fist to maintain the status quo within its corner of the universe. Masters of weapon-smithing and a penchant for extravagant fashion the Kingdom Of Thorns has sat content behind its walls of power until recently with its newly appointed ruler Adele who has taken the throne under what many believe to be questionable circumstances.

Her new doctrine has seen the expansion of the Thorn empire into the stars as Adele seeks to expand her power by any means necessary.

Daybreak V4

Can you believe our baby is already on V4? It feels like only yesterday we introduced it to the world!

V4 is definitely one of the biggest overhauls we’ve made to Daybreak so far. Your feedback has been incredibly helpful in shaping the map, and we hope you’ll enjoy the changes!

One of the biggest updates is that the map has been made exactly 13.58% smaller. This should improve rotation times, reduce travel time, and improve the overall flow of the map.

The jungle has once again been reworked for a better layout and smoother flow, and the placement of jungle entrances has been adjusted to enable better ganks - or help you avoid them. The placement of some camps has also been adjusted to make jungle clears more straightforward.

Additionally, the number of jungle camps has been reduced. This is a natural change following the map size decrease and reflects our desire to ensure junglers stay engaged with what’s happening in the lanes and around objectives.

To better support lower-mobility Heroes on the map, we’ve either removed or adjusted jump-over surfaces so all Heroes can take advantage of them.

We’re also adjusting the teleporters. Their location has been shifted slightly to ensure they remain a respectable distance away from the pit, rather than acting as a direct ride straight there.

Quests

Quests - our new system of daily, weekly, and monthly tasks - are coming to Predecessor in V1.13. This was one of the community’s most requested features, and we’re very excited to finally bring it to the game.

There will be several kinds of quests:

  • Daily tasks that reward XP

  • Weekly quests that reward Ion Cores

  • Monthly challenges that reward Quantum Cores

We hope quests will keep you coming back, giving you an exciting new way to earn more Cores and unlock cool rewards.

Zarus Plush

Our very first merch drop is here! We’ve partnered with Youtooz to create our very own Zarus plush, and you can pre-order it later today on the Youtooz website. Make sure to grab one if you want it - these are made to order, so once the pre-order window closes, they’re gone!

Uncapped Affinity

Hero Affinity is going all the way up to level 99! One of the most requested changes is finally here, and we’re thrilled to bring it to the game. Level 10 Affinity is no longer the limit, so jump into some matches with your main - or don’t - and watch that number climb.

Scoreboard

The coreboard is also getting a refresh - just take a look at that image!

We’re hoping this sleek new design will deliver a better post-match experience, making it easier to quickly review stats and find exactly what you’re looking for.

Post Match Battle Pass Screen

The new scoreboard isn’t the only new thing coming to your post-match screen!

We’re also adding a Battle Pass view, making it easier to see exactly how much XP you’ve earned toward your Battle Pass. You’ll be able to check whether you unlocked a reward after the match, and if not, see how far away you are from your next reward across any Battle Passes you own.

Refer-a-Friend Competition

If you’ve recently referred a friend who reached level 5 in the game, you’re in the running to win our grand prize - a Secretlab gaming chair! The competition is open for a few more days, so there’s still time to enter - or increase your number of entries.

You can find more details about the competition (https://playp.red/4sD3FF8).

Daybreak V3

It feels like it was just yesterday when we first told you that we’re working on a new map - and now we’re already on V3!

Thank you so much for participating in the map testing so far. Your feedback has helped us tremendously, shaping the map already - and continues to do so.

Here are the latest updates that you’ll see in V3:

  • Teleporters have been reworked, and their positions on the map have been changed to allow for easier access. The locations they transport you to are now more impactful to the map, influencing fights more significantly.

  • Jump pads have been adjusted to take you further into the lane - until the Tier 2 tower in that lane is destroyed.

  • Offlane has been reworked: the lane is now longer, and access points have been adjusted. We’ve heard your concerns about accessing offlane and the intimidation factor of the height, so we’ve made adjustments to make the lane more accessible. The lane length has been increased to reduce frustration, especially when dealing with high-mobility heroes.

  • Additional Bush types have been added to help junglers or roamers sneak closer to certain areas without being revealed.

  • Peeking side spots from duo lane have been removed. By removing the center pillar and reducing the width on the side walls, we’ve opened up more space and removed the advantage of right-side peeking.

  • Midlane has been reworked with adjusted access points. By removing the ring around the mid, we’ve allowed for more open gameplay while maintaining line of sight breakers, which will also help with roaming behind the Tier 1 tower.

Thanks again for your feedback - we’re excited to see how these changes improve your experience!

V1.12.4 is LIVE! | Daybreak V2 | Victorious Skin Bundles

Hello Champions!

This time, we’re a little early - the schedule is a bit different as we want to ensure our PCC tournament is played on the most balanced build possible.

This is the first of two planned balance patches for V1.12. The first arrives on Tuesday, March 10th, with the second expected on March 24th.

This balance patch has big shoes to fill. V1.12 was one of the largest balance updates we’ve ever released - after all, every single Hero was affected. We’re very grateful for your feedback, and we hope you’ll find changes here that address your concerns.

Read on to find out more!

Daybreak V2

This update brings Daybreak V2 - a newer, improved version of our new map. It’s not final (V3 is already planned), but V2 should already address some of the biggest pain points we’ve seen, both from you and from our own testing, with Daybreak V1.

In V2, you’ll see:

  • Rebalanced Jungle - to account for longer travel distances, some jungle camps are now less durable (details are below in the game balance section).

  • Rearranged Jungle - to improve pathing, to make it slightly harder to peek into the jungle from lanes.

  • Offlane changes - widened the lane, with more places to hide.

  • Orb arena adjustments - updated size and more entry points.

  • Gold plants and Speed plants were added.

  • Bushes added and placed in strategic locations.

  • Shadow Pools removed as a result.

You can read more about the differences between Daybreak V1 and V2 in the blog here.

V1.12 is LIVE! | Hero Reworks | New Map | Neon Renegades Battle Pass

Hello, Champions!

It’s almost V1.12, and we’re happy to say we’re SO BACK. V1.12: Neon Renegades arrives on Tuesday, February 24th, and it’s absolutely HUGE: from a brand-new Hero, N3ON, to kit changes across every single Hero, and even a new map coming to Labs for a limited-time playtest.

And that’s not all. There’s a lot waiting for you in this update - so without further ado, let’s dive into:

  • N3ON: a singer-turned-hacker, ready to disrupt the battlefield

  • Daybreak: a new map, available in Labs for a limited-time playtest

  • Neon Renegades Battle Pass: plus new cyberpunk-themed skins

  • Bug fixes and balance changes

  • Refer-a-Friend system overhaul

  • Ranked changes and a new split

  • Kit updates for every Hero

Let’s jump in - buckle up, it’s going to be a long one!

New Hero: N3ON, the hacker renegade

N3ON once stood beside Shinbi at the dawn of a revolution in sound, two young performers blending music and code to reshape live shows across Axion Prime. It was N3ON’s genius that created Shinbi’s iconic hard-light holo-wolves and turned stages into living canvases.

Then the spotlight narrowed. Branded a casualty of “creative differences,” N3ON vanished behind NDAs and corporate silence while Shinbi rose to planetary superstardom, one becoming a global icon, the other a ghost in the machine.

Now N3ON turns her talent against the system that cast her out: hijacking broadcasts, leaking secrets, and tearing at the entertainment empire’s polished façade. Cyberterrorist to some, whistle-blower to others, and a cat lover to all - all of her skills come in surprisingly handy on the battlefield.

The orb then returns to Neon, dealing 40/60/80/100/120 (+40% Magical Power) True Damage on its way back. Overclocked: Before returning, the orb emits a pulse at its maximum range, dealing its return damage in an area around it at the initial return location.

Data Burst :

Recast: During Final Thread, Neon can recast this ability to jump upwards and launch an explosive bomb. The bomb explodes upon hitting Terrain or an Enemy Hero, dealing 140/210/280 (+55/60/65% Magical Power) Magical Damage in a 500u radius. The damage increases by up to 100% based on the Target's Missing Health.

Labs: Daybreak

As you might have heard from our dev blog, we’re bringing a work-in-progress version of our new map, Daybreak, to Predecessor as a Labs mode for a limited time, so you can experience it for yourself.

This is a really exciting moment. A new map has been one of the most requested features for years, and we’re thrilled to finally show you what we’ve been working on. But we’re not done yet, and we need you and your input to keep improving Daybreak.

For the duration of Daybreak’s availability - one week starting February 24th - we’ll be posting daily feedback questions on both Discord and Reddit. We’ll also be running surveys, both in-game and externally. Each day will focus on something different, so we can gather well-rounded feedback across all the map’s most important elements.

It’s more important than ever to jump in and share your thoughts. We can’t wait to hear what you think: after all, you should have your say on one of the biggest additions to Predecessor’s future.

You can learn more about Daybreak in the dev blog here.

Ranked News

With V1.12, we’re performing a ranked split. As always, you’ll receive an exclusive profile icon and banner corresponding to the highest rank you have achieved during the split. If you’ve won at least 15 ranked games during the split, you’ll also receive an exclusive Grim.exe skin, and a variant corresponding to the highest rank you achieved during the split starting from Gold Rank.

There’s still time to grind, as the rewards are getting distributed next week, which means you can still challenge yourself to achieve the higher rank, or win the 15 matches in order to unlock the skin!

Ranked Placement Phase

As of V1.12, a placement phase will be introduced to Ranked. Since this is a split update, all Ranked players will enter placements and must complete a set number of placement matches to receive a rank.

The system is designed to quickly move you through the ranks and place you at an appropriate starting point for the split based on your placement performance. For this update, most players will need to play at least 5 placement games, though you may finish earlier depending on your results.

Going forward, new players entering Ranked for the first time (and all players at the start of a new season) will be required to complete up to 10 placement games to be placed.

Players must complete their placement matches before the end of the split to be eligible for Ranked rewards moving forward.

Matchmaking on Rank and VP

We’ve been hard at work making changes and improvements to the matchmaking system in response to player feedback. For now, these updates are focused on Ranked in EU and NA, but we’ll be improving other queues throughout the first part of the year as well.

Until now, Ranked matchmaking has not taken Rank and VP into account. Instead, it matched players using our internal MMR value, which we use to estimate player skill. This has been a common piece of feedback, so we’re changing how the system works to better align with player expectations.

Starting in V1.12, matchmaking will take both player Rank and VP into account to better group players of similar rank together. We will still maintain and use our internal MMR, but when creating matches, VP will now play a much bigger role.

Our goal is for the majority of matches to include players within a maximum spread of two ranks. Due to how flexible the party system is, this won’t always be possible (for example, Gold players can party with Bronze players).

We’ve been testing these changes in the live environment over the last few weeks at different times, and we’re ready to roll them out everywhere. We’ll continue working on the system post-release to address outlier cases as we find them, but we hope the Ranked matchmaking experience feels significantly improved.

Paragon and High-Rank Matchmaking Improvements

As mentioned in the Competitive Blog, we’ve been tracking down a bug that often split high-ranked players into separate games, filling those matches with Platinum and Gold players. With V1.12, we’ve made improvements to this experience and will continue to iterate in upcoming patches.

Players should feel these improvements more clearly once enough players reach Paragon and Diamond this split.

Our goal is to ensure that players aspiring to reach the top of the Ranked ladder are given the most competitive matches possible as they climb. Part of that is doing our best to match the best 10 players currently in queue into the same game, and we’ll keep iterating until that’s consistently the case.

OCE Ranked Time Window Changes

We are moving the Ranked Window on the OCE server 1 hour forward based on feedback shared on the OCE Community Discord. We are always looking at other ways to improve and grow ranked on our smaller servers so please keep the feedback coming.

Starting Saturday, February 28th, Ranked will now be open on OCE from 19:00 AEDT (08:00 UTC) until 23:00 AEDT (12:00 UTC).

Hero Adjustments Highlights

If there’s one thing we haven’t been keeping quiet about, it’s Hero reworks. It has been a big undertaking and we are so excited to pass reworked Heroes into your capable hands. The last time we did this - back in V1.4 -it brought a breath of fresh air to the game and reignited interest in Heroes that were starting to be left behind.

Now, in V1.12, we’re back for more. Every single Hero has received changes, though some are more substantial than others - and we can’t wait to see what you think.

This section covers only the highlights. You’ll find the full list of Hero changes in the dedicated chapter below.

Narbash

Narbash’s drums just got an upgrade! His secondary is now a permanently active toggle between healing and movement speed, and his primary applies a buff to whatever beat he’s currently playing. His passive grants Physical Power, Armor, and Magical Armor for each enemy around him, and Thunk has never hit this hard - now also knocking enemies back slightly. Crash! Bang! Boom! has received a huge upgrade too: it now applies a stacking slow that, at max stacks, charms enemies toward him.

Muriel

Muriel received a huge rework, enabling her to be a stronger enchanter than ever. Her passive no longer grants on-hit magic damage - instead, her abilities apply anti-heal to enemies and grant healing buffs to allies. Her primary has been moved to her alternate, allowing it to be charged to apply devastating stuns to enemies hit. Her alternate is now her secondary, removing the attack speed element and focusing on a movement speed buff and a stronger shield instead. Her new primary creates an angelic light zone for a period of time, healing allies and damaging enemies, while also granting allies attack speed and reducing enemies’ attack speed. And to guarantee a clutch save, her ultimate now grants 50% damage reduction.

Terra

Terra puts her heavy armor to work! Her passive now grants bonus Armor while within turret range, and all abilities now scale with Armor, leaning fully into her tank fantasy. She’s a truly unstoppable force as her ultimate grants Armor and Magical Armor on top of Tenacity, while also disabling nearby towers. Yep, you read that right: Terra can disable towers now.

Shinbi

Any Shinbi fans? As of V1.12, she’ll be able to send her primary attack vertically, letting her fight airborne Heroes more effectively. Similarly, her alternate ability now allows her to dash upward, giving her more verticality. For her ultimate, she no longer builds stacks by hitting individual enemies—instead, she builds stacks on herself as she continues to damage enemies. Once fully stacked, she can unleash a whopping 8 wolves on everyone she’s damaged in the last 8 seconds.

SFX Update

Not only are Hero kits changing: for many Heroes, we’ve also upgraded their sound effects to bring them in line with the audio quality of newer additions, and to give certain abilities a bit more oomph.

All Heroes now share a consistent processing treatment for their ultimate VO. This improves gameplay readability, strengthens the sense of power, and creates a more immersive, cohesive audio experience across the roster.

Ability SFX improvements

Updated abilities include:

  • Khaimera - Passive

  • Grux - Secondary

  • Howitzer - Primary

  • Murdock - Primary

  • Muriel - Alternate, Primary

  • Sevarog - Alternate, Secondary

  • Steel - Secondary

  • Kira - Passive

  • Kallari - Passive, Primary

Ultimate SFX

We’ve also updated several Hero ultimates to modernise their sound design - making them feel bigger, more powerful, and in line with our current standards.

Updated Heroes:

  • Gadget

  • Gideon

  • Dekker

  • Drongo

  • Narbash

  • Feng Mao

  • Fey

  • Greystone

  • Grux

  • Khaimera

Hero UI Update

Alongside the changes to Hero kits, we’ve also updated the UI for several Heroes to better support their unique mechanics.

  • Sparrow: Her reticle now displays a charge meter.

  • Revenant: You can now see how much ammo you have left beneath your health bar.

  • Muriel: When preparing to use her ultimate, you’ll now see Hero portraits to help you select the right target.

  • N3ON: She features a fun UI animation when using abilities in her Overclocked state.

We’ve also updated the UI to better showcase stacking (for relevant Heroes), and the level indicator should now be easier to read.

Friend Rewards

Friend Rewards are the next step in our friend referral journey. Ever since we launched referrals, we’ve been looking for ways to improve them, and we’ve heard a lot of feedback from you along the way, such as: they were difficult to access; they weren’t available in the game client; it wasn’t clear where referred players should enter the code; rewards were not rewarding enough, etc.

The good news: we’re improving all of this in V1.12.

The referral screen will now live inside the game in the rightmost tab in the main menu so there’s no need to visit external pages just to get your friends playing alongside you. Referral codes will also be shorter and easier to use.

Players will be able to claim awesome rewards, as the reward track has been overhauled. As before, both you and your referred friend will earn better rewards as they progress, starting with Amber payouts and Quantum Cores, and scaling all the way up to Platinum payouts to grab something nice from the store.

Hopefully you and your friends will find our upgraded referral system, Friend Rewards, a useful way to help each other out, supporting new players through the early experience, and providing cool rewards for the referrer as well.

V1.11.2 is LIVE! | Minimap Improvements | Social Screen Improvements

Hello Champions!

Time flies - it’s already the end of January, which means it’s time for the first balance patch of the year! As always, we’ve got a healthy mix of Hero and item changes, alongside a few small features you may enjoy (and find handy during matches).

This patch includes:

  • Minimap improvements

  • Social Screen improvements

  • New skins

  • Bug fixes

Let’s dive in!

Minimap Improvements

There are a few minimap improvements that are finally ready and will be implemented in V1.11.2. These two changes are tremendously helpful, giving you plenty of new information at a quick glance.

First, we’re implementing one of the biggest requests when it comes to the minimap: a recall indicator. When a player is recalling, their character icon on the minimap will flash to let you know, so you can act accordingly.

Second, we’ve added numeric jungle camp respawn timers, allowing better planning for junglers and the entire team - you can now time your Fangtooth attack down to the second.

We’re looking forward to hearing what you think, Champions, and we hope you’ll notice an improvement in your matches.

Social Screen Improvements

We’ve also implemented a few neat changes to the social screen and friends list. While in the main menu, you’ll be able to see more information about players on your Friends List, including:

  • How long their current match has been running

  • Whether they’re in queue (and for which mode)

  • Whether they’re in a party (and if that party is full)

All of this makes it easier to find the best party to join and take advantage of that Party XP bonus!

AFK and Punishment Changes

In this patch, we’re making some tweaks to how we handle players going AFK.

First, we’re expanding the early match-ending functionality to ARAM and Nitro when an AFK player is detected near the start of a match. This functionality is already in place for Standard and Ranked.

We’re also increasing the severity of penalties for going AFK, dodging Ranked Draft, and declining to accept a Ranked match.

We won’t be sharing the exact thresholds or trigger conditions to prevent abuse, but we want to ensure the best possible player experience - so players who choose to ruin it will receive increasingly stern bans.

Patch V1.11 is LIVE! | New Hero:Maco | Nitro: Last Stand | Infernix Skins |

Hello, Champions, and Happy New Year!

We haven’t seen you since last year, but luckily we haven’t had to wait long. The year has barely begun, and things are already falling into place for V1.11, arriving next Tuesday, January 13th!

And there are some rather exciting things waiting for you in this one!

Without further ado, let’s dive into:

  • New Hero: Maco, a menace and a healer!

  • New Year, better Nitro!

  • AFK VP loss mitigation

  • Party Boost XP

  • Community Voted Fixes

  • Forever Hero Pack

  • New skins

  • And more!

New Hero: Maco, the adorable menace

Predecessor Heroes can be many things: a special figure to their people, vigilantes who uphold justice, or warriors who have chosen the wrong path… Maco is none of them.

It’s fair to say Maco is the hero of his own story. Like many of his kind - the Critterkin, inhabitants of Velrune’s forests and subterranean burrows - he loves to sleep, snack, and collect shiny things.

As part of his duties, Maco was assigned to guard a shift so the rest of his family could sleep in peace. But his irresistible urge to try on the royal crown - the shiniest of objects - sent everything tumbling: the precious stones were lost, and the fear of a royal telling-off has now launched Maco on a grand quest to find replacement jewels. You can learn more about his story (https://www.predecessorgame.com/en-US/universe/stories/macos-magnificent-mishap).

And that’s where we meet him: our new Support Hero, ready to heal you on the battlefield - and perhaps your soul, a little bit too.

Have your say - Results

When we decided to dedicate V1.11 to small fixes with a big impact, we knew we didn’t just want to rely on our internal view of the game’s most-needed improvements - we wanted to involve you, our community, as well!

During a 10-day period in early November, you were able to submit issues in a dedicated Discord channel, where others could upvote or downvote each entry.

We’ve compiled, analysed, and reviewed all the feedback, and assessed what we could squeeze into 1.11, considering the resources available - especially with the holiday season approaching. Additionally, we wanted to ensure that the proposed changes aligned with our goal of prioritizing adjustments with a big impact.

This entire process has given us valuable insights into which Quality of Life changes are important to you. We’ve prepared a list of what we’ll be addressing in V1.11, as well as the things that we are aiming to ship in future releases later in 2026 and beyond.

Feedback We’ll Be Acting On in V1.11

Adjustment of Tower Hitboxes

We heard the feedback that the hitboxes of towers don’t align properly with their actual shape. We’ll be adjusting this in V1.11 to improve aiming precision and fairness while engaging with the towers.

Show Who Killed Fangtooth/Orb Prime

A popular request that’s quick enough to implement - notifications for Fangtooth and Orb Prime will now include the name of the player who dealt the fatal blow. We’ll also let you know if the objective was stolen… just in case that information comes in handy for any revenge plans.

Ranked Changes

Ranked is another part of the game that’s highly dynamic and frequently evolving, and it received its fair share of requests. We want to let you know that several of your requested changes to Ranked are being implemented in V1.11! You can find the exact breakdown of changes in the Ranked section.

Play Any Hero in Practice

Starting in V1.11, you will be able to play any Hero in Practice mode, without needing to purchase them first!

This change will hopefully allow you to find Hero fitting your playstyle more easily, test them more thoroughly and allow you to make better informed decisions before spending Amber or Platinum on them.

Social Screen Improvements

We’re adding more at-a-glance information about your Predecessor friends! When you select a friend in the Friends List, you’ll see their level, rank, and VP displayed at the top of the options menu (where you can mute/unmute, remove friend, etc.).

The Ultimate Hero Pack: Every Hero, Now and Forever

One of the most commonly requested features, especially for new players is the option to buy all of our Heroes in one go.

We’re delighted to announce that we’re launching our Ultimate Hero Pack on the 21st of January, which instantly grants you access to our entire roster of currently available Heroes, plus every single new Hero we release in the future, at no additional cost.

The bundle will launch with a 33% discount for $19.99 for the first 2 weeks until the 4th of February then returning to $29.99. The discount is only available on Steam, Epic and PSN stores due to platform restrictions.

What’s included:

  • Instant Access: Every currently playable Hero is unlocked immediately.

  • Lifetime Value: All future Heroes are automatically added to your collection at release.

  • Amber Refunds: Get an Amber refund for every Hero you already unlocked.

This is a one-time purchase, all Heroes are permanently unlocked on your account. When a new Hero enters the fray, they will be waiting for you in your collection, no grinding required.

Note: Amber refunds are granted for previously unlocked Heroes using their current Amber value.

Priorities For Us To Address In Future Updates

We received many excellent suggestions for new Quality of Life features, but some of them fall outside the scope of what we could realistically achieve in time for V1.11.

The following is a list of features we’re hoping to bring to the game at a later date - they are not included in V1.11.

Stability Improvements

We have some major performance and stability fixes coming to the game (including quite a few for the PlayStation version - watch this space). They still need a bit more work before they’re ready to ship, but you can expect them soon - over the next few weeks.

Daily and Weekly Challenges

You’ve asked for challenges to give you goals to work towards, and we get it! In fact, we’ve done a lot of groundwork for this feature already, but it still requires some additional time before we can consider it ready. However, now that we know just how much you’re looking forward to this feature, we’re hopeful it won’t be long before we’re able to introduce it to Predecessor.

Different Crosshairs for Different Heroes

Another highly requested feature, particularly for Heroes like Revenant, Murdock, and Bayle. While it’s a great idea, it unfortunately didn’t fit within the scope of this update. Fear not, this request will very much stay on our minds for the future!

Post-Match & Replay Build Visibility

Many of you upvoted the suggestions that pertained to the end of the match screen and replays - and one of the most popular ones asked for the ability to view player builds at the end of a match, while watching replays. We fully agree that this would improve the end of a match experience and would help learning experience. We are currently discussing the whole end of match experience because we think we can make several improvements there, and this will likely be part of that future work.

Hero Customization Page

A popular suggestion to create a hero customization tab in the main menu, where players could adjust keybinds, cosmetics, and builds. This is an excellent idea, and something we’d love to work on in the future.

Limiting Paragon Rank to 100 Players

We heard your feedback on increasing the prestige of the highest rank by strictly limiting it to a small number of players. We like that idea, we believe it makes plenty of sense, however, other Ranked system changes need to happen first before we can introduce this one, so this isn’t something we’ll be addressing in V1.11.

Switching Heroes in Practice Mode

You’ve asked for the ability to switch Heroes without leaving practice mode. We sympathize with this, it would be a great QoL feature! This requires some work though before we can introduce it, more work that we could fit in before V1.11.

Fog in the Jungle (from Shadows Eve Map)

This small visual effect, serving little more function than being a spooky flourish on the Shadow’s Eve map, has clearly charmed many of you, as it was one of the more popular suggestions. While we won’t be reintroducing it in V1.11, we wanted you to know that we’ve heard your request and will keep it in mind for the future especially in the design for our new map.

Ranked Matchmaking Improvements - Coming Soon

We’re still working on a major improvement to the matchmaking system, one that blends VP and our internal MMR much more effectively when creating matches. It isn’t quite ready yet, but we’re hoping to ship it before the current split ends, so watch this space.

Ranked News

Ranked Mode is Expanding!

SA

You really showed up, SA players! Ever since we launched Ranked in SA, we’ve been seeing awesome results, so based on the data, we’re happy to announce that SA Ranked will now be available every day!

Starting January 13, on weekdays (Monday–Friday), Ranked will be open from 17:00 BRT (20:00 UTC) until 00:00 BRT (03:00 UTC). Weekend windows will remain unchanged.

OCE & ASIA Ranked Test

The time has come - we want to test Ranked viability on OCE and ASIA servers!

Please keep in mind that, for now, this is only a test that we plan to run for a few weeks. We may extend it if we see good results and healthy queues, but we may also end it early if Ranked negatively impacts matchmaking in those regions.

**OCE - **Starting Saturday, January 10, Ranked will be open on OCE from 20:00 AEDT (09:00 UTC) until 00:00 AEDT (13:00 UTC).

**ASIA - **Starting Saturday, January 10, Ranked will be open on ASIA from 22:00 JST (13:00 UTC) until 02:00 JST (16:00 UTC).

Ranked AFK VP Mitigation

This feature is a popular request from Ranked players. It isn’t entirely new to the game - back in V1.5, we introduced the first iteration of VP Loss Mitigation, reducing the amount of VP lost in Ranked when one or more teammates were confirmed AFK by the game.

However, the game didn’t communicate this clearly enough to players, and as we monitored the feature, we found that, overall, the reduction often wasn’t significant enough to make a meaningful difference.

To address that, in V1.11 we’re introducing a notification on the Ranked VP screen whenever VP loss has been mitigated due to an AFK detection. We’ll also be increasing the amount of VP we mitigate, to between 60% and 80%, depending on match length.

Nitro Updates

Nitro remains one of our most popular game modes, and as we’ve said many times, we’re committed to making it the fastest mode available in Predecessor.

The original goal for the mode was to deliver all the signature MOBA depth you love but in a much quicker game time. We’ve been iterating over time, with the most recent tweaks in 1.10 included, but we still felt like not having a game being guaranteed to finish before 20 mins meant that we weren’t delivering on our original goal.

Introducing Last Stand

Last Stand begins at 16 minutes. When it starts, all remaining towers and inhibitors ignite and begin to burn, losing health every second. Once a structure reaches 1 HP, it will stop taking damage from the fire, at that point, it must be finished off by a Hero or minions to be destroyed.

The Core will also take damage from the fire, but only down to 50% health.

Additionally, we’ve rebalanced the late-game consumable potions. They’ll now be available from level 15+ and will cost X onwards, providing a massive stat boost for 3 minutes.

Both changes are aimed at ensuring games finish before 20 minutes. Hopefully, that goal will finally be realized - we’re excited to find out! We’ve been playtesting these changes for a while and we’re excited about opening them up to all players.

As always, we’ll continue to keep an eye on their impact, as we look to deliver on a consistent sub 20 minute game time, without the mode losing the depth that makes MOBAs special. Please let us know what you think of the changes as you play Nitro over the next few weeks.

Party XP Boost

In V1.11, playing with friends is really going to pay off! To encourage partying up, players who enter matchmaking as a premade party will receive an additional XP boost, helping you progress even faster. It’s the perfect opportunity to help new friends level up - or to speed up your own grind to the top!

The boost starts as soon as you queue with one other person: you’ll receive 10% extra XP with a party of 2, plus an additional 10% for each extra party member, up to a whopping 40% when the party is full.

This boost is available across all game modes, and there’s no minimum level and no level cap: it’s open to everyone, always!

There’s never been a better time to introduce your friends to Predecessor -or to use LFG channels.

Upcoming Price Adjustments: Heroes

We regularly review our pricing, and in V1.11 we will be adjusting the prices for some Heroes. Until then, they will remain at their regular prices.

For most Heroes, both their Amber and Platinum prices will be reduced. However, there are two exceptions, listed below.

The prices of the following two Heroes** will increase.** This change is due to their increased complexity introduced in V1.4. We want to make them a little more difficult to acquire so new players aren’t as likely to unlock them first.

  • Countess: Price increased from 860 Amber (200 Plat) to 3870 Amber (600 Plat)

  • Feng Mao: Price increased from 2150 Amber (400 Plat) to 3870 Amber (600 Plat)

The prices of these Heroes** will be decreased:**

  • Gadget: Price decreased from 3870 Amber (600 Plat) to 2150 Amber (400 Plat)

  • Phase: Price decreased from 3870 Amber (600 Plat) to 2150 Amber (400 Plat)

  • Zarus: Price decreased from 6020 Amber (800 Plat) to 3870 Amber (600 Plat)

  • Iggy and Scorch: Price decreased from 8600 Amber (1000 Plat) to 2150 Amber (400 Plat)

  • Kwang: Price decreased from 8600 Amber (1000 Plat) to 3870 Amber (600 Plat)

V1.9: Tempest of Shadows is LIVE! | ARAM Mode | New Hero: Bayle | Vault Passes

Hello, Champions!

At long last, V1.9: Tempest of Shadows is upon us - and it’s packed to the brim with content! If you followed our 7 Days of Reveals, you might already have an idea of what’s coming… but there’s plenty more lurking beneath the surface that we can’t wait to share!

Here’s a glimpse of what’s inside:

  • New Hero: Bayle the Betrayer

  • Shadow's Eve seasonal content

  • New Mode: ARAM

  • SA Ranked update

  • Vault Passes return - complete or purchase old Battle Passes

  • Legacy Map returns in Custom Matches

  • Major balance changes reshape the tempo of the game

  • Bug Fixes

Let’s dive right in!

New Hero: Bayle, The Betrayer

Bayle the Betrayer is a seasoned warrior, a battle-hardened sellsword who once roamed from town to town alongside his brother, slaying monsters and men alike for coin.

One fateful night, their path took a disastrous turn. Ambushed by a band of swordsmen, Bayle’s brother was slain in the chaos. Through a cruel twist of magic, his soul was bound to Bayle’s blade. The weapon grew immensely powerful, but with every swing, Bayle was forced to relive his loss. As the sword drank deeper and deeper of blood, the spirit within began to twist, corrupted by violence and dark magic. What should have been eternal rest became endless torment.

Now Bayle fights on, his heart torn by grief, carrying both his brother’s spirit and the creeping curse that consumes him. He longs for release: for his brother’s freedom, and his own suffering to end. But until that day comes… countless battles await.

Bayle can only enter Berserk once every 20s.

Vigil [Basic Attack]

**Effect: **Melee basic attack dealing 62 (+60%) physical damage.

1/1/2x Damage and Swing Time Chain

*Cursed Edge *

**CD: **14/13.5/13/12.5/12

Cost: 60/65/70/75/80

Effect: Bayle activated the runes on his arm, swinging 3 times to conjure slashes of cursed energy that pierce through all Enemies, dealing 35/50/65/80/95 (+65% Bonus Physical Power) physical damage each.

The first two slashes are vertical, while the third is horizontal and Knocks Up and Stuns all Enemies it hits for 0.65s.

If Bayle hits the same Target with all 3 slashes, they take 5/10/15/20/25 (+10% Bonus Physical Power) bonus bleed damage every 0.5s for 3s.

The speed of the swings can be increased with Attack Speed.

*Dire Howl *

CD: 14/13.5/13/12.5/12

Cost: 60

*Skull Crusher *

CD: 18/17.25/16.5/15.75/15

Effect: Bayle leaps a set distance forward, flipping in the air and slamming his sword into the ground to deal 80/115/150/185/220 (+90% Bonus Physical Power) physical damage in the area.

Enemies hit by the slam are marked for 4s, Shredding their Physical Armor by 10/12.5/15/17.5/20% and granting Bayle 30% increased Movement Speed toward them.

This leap can be cancelled early, allowing Bayle to slam immediately below him.

*Kingslayer *

CD: 130/120/110

Cost: 100

Effect: Bayle Slows himself by 60% while he gathers cursed energy, then dashing forward at blinding speed.

If Bayle hits an Enemy Hero, he stops dashing and swings his sword in a massive uppercut, throwing them into their air while pummeling them with a barrage of 8 sword strikes, each dealing 30/42/54 (+26% Bonus Physical Power) (+1/1.4/1.8% of the Target’s Maximum Health) physical damage.

LABS: ARAM

The next experiment in the Pred:Labs project is All Random All Mid, better known as ARAM. In this mode, players are randomly assigned a Hero, then battle it out on a single-lane map, specially designed and fine-tuned for chaotic, fast-paced action.

It’s one of the most requested modes from the community, and honestly, we couldn’t resist putting our own spin on it!

So without further ado, let’s break it all down.

ARAM Mechanics breakdown

ARAM comes with various unique rules and mechanics that differ from Standard. The following elements are present in the mode:

Draft:

  • All Heroes unlocked by default.

  • Heroes are chosen for each Player at random.

  • Every Hero will be unique.

  • Each Player has 2 “Hero Re-Rolls” available to them during the Draft. Selecting this option will allow Players to get a new random Hero, should they be unhappy with their first option.

General:

  • All Heroes begin the match at Level 3.

  • All Heroes begin the match with 1350 Gold.

  • All Heroes begin the match with Divine Potion.

  • All Heroes gain 100 Bonus Movement Speed upon being Out of Combat for 4s, helping them navigate the map faster!

  • Vision Items have been disabled for all Heroes in this mode.

Base:

  • Heroes are unable to purchase items once they leave their base.

  • The Base does not regenerate Health and Mana in this mode.

  • Upon death you will be able to buy items again, until you leave the base once more.

Recalling:

  • While the Base does not regenerate Health and Mana, or allow you to buy items until death, Heroes can still Recall.

  • Recalling is useful when attempting to prevent an enemy from backdooring or messing with your Minion Waves near your base.

Base Jump Pads:

  • Jump Pads are present in each team’s Base.

  • Base Jump Pad launches the Player to their furthest-most Tower, with its landing location changing as each of your Towers is destroyed.

  • Base Jump Pads are disabled temporarily once your Inhibitor is destroyed and reactivates once it respawns.

Lane Jump Pads:

  • There are 2 Jump Pads present near the center of the Map.

  • These remain active for the entire match, and either team can use them.

Health Packs:

  • There are 7 Health packs scattered around the Map for Players to use as a source of Health and Mana Regeneration between engagements.

  • When a Hero walks into a Healthpack, a 3s timer begins, creating a zone in the area.

  • After 3s, all Heroes in the zone restore 30% Max Health and 40% Max Mana.

  • Initial Spawn Time: 65s

  • Respawn Time: 65s

**Shadow Pads: **

  • 4 Shadow Pads are present on the Map.

  • Shadow pads turn Heroes invisible while they are within them.

  • Dealing damage to an Enemy while inside a Shadow Pad will reveal you for 2.5s.

  • You may also walk into the Shadow Pad to see if any other players are inside them.

Geysers:

  • 2 Geysers exist near the outskirts of the Map allowing players to access higher ledges.

River Bug:

  • A single Enhanced River Bug is present in the middle of the ARAM Map, acting as a bonus objective for Heroes to collect between engagements, or to cause engagements itself.

  • Initial Spawn Time = 120s.

  • Respawn Time = 120s.

Additional Features
Vault Passes

As we announced during 7 Days of Reveals, one of the exciting changes coming in V1.9: Tempest of Shadows is that Battle Passes will no longer expire ! Once you purchase a pass, it’s yours to complete at your own pace - no more ticking timers or expiration dates.

Past Battle Passes (nicknamed Vault Passes) are also making a return. If you previously bought one but didn’t finish it, you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off once V1.9: Tempest of Shadow launches!

They will also be available for purchase for players who missed out on them. The Shadow Ops and Winterfest 2024 Battle Passes will be available for purchase again in V1.9: Tempest of Shadows, with Ashes of the Damned one returning in V1.10.

If you’ve already purchased these passes but didn’t complete them, you’ll regain access on October 14th.

The Legacy Map Returns in Custom Games!

As announced during 7 Days of Reveals, starting with V1.9: Tempest of Shadows, the Legacy map will once again be available to play - this time in Custom Games! The map includes all the twists and adjustments we originally made during its previous iterations.

While Legacy didn’t quite fit as a standalone mode, there’s no reason it can’t be enjoyed in a custom, non-competitive setting.

So gather your squad of big-map enthusiasts - there are countless Custom Legacy matches to play and new memories to make!

Ranked Mode Comes to South America!

We’ve always said we’d look to expand Ranked Mode to every region once the player population could support it - and we’re thrilled to announce that SA has reached that milestone!

Starting Sunday, October 19th, Ranked will be available on Sundays between 3 PM and midnight BRT.

As some of you may remember, Ranked in NA and EU also began with limited time windows before being expanded and we’re hoping to follow a similar path here.

So gather your friends, sharpen your skills, and get ready to climb!

A quick reminder: to play Ranked, you must be at least Level 20 and own 20 Heroes.

We’re also hopeful that more regions will join the Ranked roster soon!

Loot Core Changes

The Loot Core changes announced in the previous patch will take effect on October 14th with the V1.9: Tempest of Shadows release.

You can find the full details (https://www.predecessorgame.com/news/patch-notes/v1-8-3-patch-notes#other-news), but here’s the gist:

You’ll now receive 300 Opals for every 8 Quantum Cores opened (this reward repeats continuously).
