Notice on the End of Technical support for DirectX 11 Non-Ray Tracing Versions

On 7/12/2023, support will end for the DirectX 11 non-ray tracing versions (dx11_non-rt) of Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3.

After technical support has ended, we cannot guarantee compatiblity or operation when using these versions of the games.

The following updates have been made for Resident Evil 7 biohazard.
  • Correction of typos in the porting credits.
  • Fixed a bug in which the 'HBAO+' ambient occlusion graphics option was not functioning properly.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause the 'Rendering Method' graphics option to not save correctly when set to 'Interlaced'.
  • Fixed a bug in which the 'Motion Blur' graphics options was not functioning properly.
  • Fixed a bug in which the 'Image Quality' graphics option was not functioning properly.
  • Fixed a bug in which the 'TAA' anti-aliasing graphics option was not functioning properly.
  • Fixed a bug in which the 'GI and Reflection' graphics option was not functioning properly.
  • Fixed a bug in which the 'Light Reflection' graphics option was not functioning properly.

DirectX 11 Non-Ray Tracing Version Now Available

Hello Resident Evil fans,

Due to overwhelming community response, we've reactivated the previous version that does not include ray tracing and enhanced 3D audio. Both enhanced and previous versions will be made available going forward.

Please follow the steps below if you wish to roll back to the previous version.

  1. Click LIBRARY in Steam client.
  2. Right-click the game and select ""Properties...""
  3. In the pop-up menu, select ""BETAS""
  4. From the pull-down menu, select ""dx11_non-rt"" (Note: password not required)
  5. Close the pop-up menu and let the Steam client auto-update the game
  6. You should be able to launch the game normally once the update completes
  7. Please note some of the in-game option settings will be reset as a result of the rollback process.

If you would like to update the game to the new version again, simply select ""None"" from the pull-down menu in Step 4 above.

【How to toggle automatic updates OFF】 Follow the following steps before the patch goes live.

  1. Right-click the title under your Library, and select "Properties..."
  2. In the "UPDATES" tab, change Automatic Updates to "Update only when I launch it"
  3. Press "Steam" in your steam client, and select "Go Offline"
  4. Press "Play" to start the game.

※Please switch to "Go Offline" every time you play this title. ※Please be aware that once the upgrade patch has been applied, the game cannot be restored to the previous version even if the game is uninstalled.

Notice Regarding a Content Revision of the JP and KR Versions of the Free DLC

The free DLC “Not A Hero,” which released on December 14th, 2017, contained a bug in the Japanese and Korean versions. This has been corrected in the version of the DLC that is now currently available. A patch will be released at a later date to correct this issue in previously released versions of this DLC.

The following issues have been addressed in today's update:

  • Fixed an issue where saving game progress was no longer possible if the player deleted the local save file while Steam Cloud has been turned off.

  • Fixed an issue where HDR mode is turned back to ON upon app launch if the player quits the prior game session in full screen mode and with HDR set to OFF.
