And now, a special message from Executive Producer, Thomas Marrone!

It’s time to go back... to the Future!

Hello, Captains!

It’s my great privilege to welcome you to Star Trek Online’s latest update: Undiscovered.

One of the surprisingly difficult things to do when developing an update for Star Trek Online is picking its name! We look at dozens of options and try to land on something exciting that also fits the theme. For this release, we chose _Undiscovered. _Obviously, a nod to my favorite Trek film, Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, the title Undiscovered celebrates both the past and future of Star Trek and Star Trek Online.

For the 60th anniversary of Star Trek, we wanted to celebrate the past by beginning the revamp of one of STO’s most beloved story arcs. “The Kuvah’magh” marks the opening chapter of this revamp, and we’re starting off with a bang! I am so proud to welcome back to STO both Robert Picardo (The Doctor) and Lisa LoCicero (Miral Paris), alongside a cast of STO favorites you’ll be excited to see again!

While some of the original plot points remain, “The Kuvah’magh” is entirely new from top to bottom. We have totally rewritten and rebuilt the mission to our current storytelling standards, including new scripts, environments, costumes, ships, and cutscenes. We know how much these stories matter to you, and we wanted to make sure that we did them justice while still giving long-time players a fresh experience.

Speaking of the future – I mentioned that Undiscovered is about both the past AND the future. The formula for_ Star Trek Online_’s content has been stable for a while now, and with the Undiscovered release, we felt it was time to try a new type of gameplay. This led to a new take on “Deep Space Encounters.” Originally simple wave battles, with _Undiscovered, _we rebuilt DSEs as short missions with randomized objectives, enemies, allies, and environments.

Inspired to some degree by STO’s old “Exploration Clusters,” Deep Space Encounters are meant to be a relaxing way to explore the final frontier after a long day, all while earning much-coveted Endeavor XP that will help you power-up every character on your account. I consider this kind of content an important experiment for STO’s future: What can we do to reinforce the feeling of living in the Star Trek universe and being the star of your own Star Trek adventure?

It’s a fascinating question with a million answers, and we hope that you’ll explore that undiscovered country – the future, with us as we all boldly go there together.

Thomas Marrone Executive Producer Star Trek Online

It’s always exciting to create the content but it’s more fun when it finally goes out to all of you.

The threads that were began with the latest incursion from the Mirror Universe are beginning to come to a head, as Wil Wheaton steps into Star Trek Online to portray the Mirror version of his classic character, Wesley Crusher. Wielding god-like Traveler powers, and cementing his relationship with the Mirror version of V’ger, Emperor Crusher is one of the largest threats the galaxy has ever faced, and only you can stop him.

This brand new event combines some of our favorite Terran Content, and completing it for 20 Days will give you a brand new ship, the Terran Somerville !

Star Trek Online: Stormfall

You've stepped through the Mirror and back, Captains, just barely escaping with your lives. If you venture in again, will it be for the last time? Join one of our most star studded casts in Stormfall, the latest Star Trek Online story update. Kate Mulgrew returns as both Admiral Janeway from the Prime Star Trek Universe, and her dastardly, Borg afflicted Mirror Counterpart. Joining her are Mary Wiseman as Sylvia "Killy" Tilly, the unhinged, murderous version of Tilly from Star Trek Discovery. Chase Masterson joins us to reprise the role she created just for Star Trek Online, Admiral Leeta, the true antithesis of everything her character stood for in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Kipleigh Brown brings us a version of Kuumaarke like we've never seen before. And finally, for the first time, Noah Averbach-Katz (Ryn, from Star Trek: Discovery) will step out from behind the streaming desk and step into the game, playing Rae-yeet, a Mirror Universe inhabitant who rebels against the evil Terran Empire. You'll stand alongside and against all of these forces, including your own dark reflection.

This story plays out in two brand new episodes, "Blue Shift," and "The Calling." In addition, you'll find we've reworked the Task Force Operation "Assault on Terek Nor" into the completely redone "Forged in Fire." Finally, you can oppose the Terran Empire in the updated, screen accurate map of Deep Space Nine, with brand new cutscenes, enemies, and boss mechanics. You can play all of that, and more, in the Heart of the Storm event, to unlock a powerful new ground set based around Mirror Kuumaarke. And if you're brand new or just want to see it all again, the 2409-era Federation Tutorial has received a long needed update, adding more depth, better environments and cutscenes, more streamlined content and interactions with Admiral Janeway herself, as well as Aron Eisenberg as Captain Nog.

Lower Decks has been one of our favorite new additions to the Star Trek canon, and we're adding the California Class, the flagship of that show, into the Infinity Lock Box starting today. In addition, several awesome items from the show like the Mandatory Medical Treatment rifle and the Scorpion Cube have been added to the Lobi store. It's an exciting time to be a Star Trek Online fan, and we're so pleased to have you with us, Captains. Stormfall will be live after maintenance today. We'll see you in the Final Frontier.

Star Trek Online: Shadow's Advance Now Live

In the world of video games, especially massively multiplayer online games, lasting a decade is unheard of. Star Trek Online has explored the final frontier twelve years. It’s an incredible number that could never have happened without you, the Captains who play our game, bringing the Star Trek Universe to life in a way no other piece of Trek media can. We’re so grateful that you have and continue to take this ride with us, whether you’ve been here since Beta or your first day playing was today.

And speaking of today, we’re marking our anniversary with a drop of brand new content, starting with one of the most exciting guest stars we’ve ever had. Kate Mulgrew returns to the role she defined, Kathryn Janeway, the first woman to Captain a starship as the lead of her own show. For seven years, Janeway guided the crew of Voyager on their desperate search for a way home, but what has she been doing in the year 2411? You’ll find her in our brand new episode, “Red Shift,” alongside Star Trek favorites Mary Wiseman and Chase Masterson. The Terran Empire has attacked Jupiter Station, but why? What do they want?

Janeway has also been retroactively added to the Delta Quadrant missions that feature most of the rest of the cast of Star Trek: Voyager. You'll find the Admiral directing you on missions throughout that entire storyarc.

You’ll be able to explore Jupiter Station yourself in “Red Shift,” or defend it in space in our brand new Task Force Operation, “Iuppiter Iratus.” Completing the mission, the TFO, or the Omega Particle stabilization game will earn you progress towards the Jarrok Alliance Carrier, a brand new T6 ship that combines Romulan and Federation designs. And you can open the Emerald Chain Lock Box to claim items used by the villainous syndicate during Star Trek: Discovery Season 3.

One more thing: The last two years were banner years for STO, and we want to celebrate with you. Log in to the game during the Anniversary Event to claim a free 100% off T6 Ship Coupon for the Zen Store!

We can’t wait to share these stories with you, Captains. Don’t wait, Star Trek Online: Shadow’s Advance is live on PC right now!

Star Trek Online: Reflections Now Live

Step into the mirror, Captains – you may never be the same. Star Trek Online is proud to announce Reflections, our newest story update, launching after maintenance today. The Terran Emperor is up to something so dastardly, that Admiral Leeta from the Mirror Universe has come to you for help. Can you save both realities from tyranny? Or will you fall to the darkness on the looking glass’s other side? Reflections stars the returning Chase Masterson, playing Leeta, the role she originated on Deep Space Nine. Leeta has been a thorn in the side of the Federation for years – can those differences be put aside? Can you even trust her?

But that’s not all. Reflections also comes with the first content from Star Trek: Lower Decks in STO. You’ll be able to obtain and command the Parliament Class, popularized as the U.S.S. Vancouver in the animated comedy, as well as obtaining some of the weapons used by Starfleet on that show. In our new Task Force Operation, “Operation: Wolf”, you’ll invade the Mirror version of Earth Space Dock, experiencing the tyrannical universe’s version for the very first time. And you’ll be able to purchase the Elite Captain Boost Token, and upgrade your Captain with a new Kit Module Slot, new Device Slot, and new a Trait Slot in both Ground and Space.

But that's not all! Starting after maintenance today, you can grab a free pack of Mirror Gear, including the following:

Star Trek Online: House United is Now Live!

Greetings, Captains!

After an honorable and epic Year of Klingon, the time has come to end the story that began with House Divided. L'Rell, as played by Mary Chieffo, is back from the dead, and leading an army to retake the Empire from the Mad Emperor, J'mpok. Whether you are a loyal Klingon Warrior, or one of the other factions taking part in the world of 2411, you've been along for the ride, experiencing the destruction of New Khitomer, clearing your name, and the shattering of the Klingon Empire. Now, you, Martok (J.G. Hertzler from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) and J'ula must stand against J'mpok to reunite and restore honor to the Klingon people.

This battle will take you around the empire, in the mission "Leap of Faith," and to Qo'nos itself in the mission "Warriors of the Empire," and the Task Force Operation, "Remain Klingon." For the first time in a long time, the story of the final battle will be told in both the mission and the TFO, giving you a chance to experience both the ground and space battles for the Klingon homeworld. Participating in these, and new patrols based off of "Leap of Faith," will progress you in the "Only Qo'nos Endures" special event. Completing that event grants you the powerful Imperial Assault ground set. And finally, the Discovery: Far from Home Lock Box lets you obtain the technology of the 32nd Century, as seen in Star Trek: Discovery Season 3.

You are once again called upon to decide the fate of the galaxy. Fight with honor, Captains. Restore the glory of your empire. Qapla'!

Star Trek Online: House Reborn Now Live!

Divided...Shattered...Reborn. J'ula believed that the Klingon Empire, having seen proof of J'mpok's treachery, would rise up against him. She was wrong. The Great Houses splintered instead, shattering the empire into warring factions, looking out for themselves. Her brother, T'kuvma, gave everything to unite the Klingon Empire, and in one fell swoop, J'ula has undone all of it. Now, she must venture within to find the answers, at the holiest of Klingon worlds, Boreth. Journey with her there, and discover what lies in the heart of Grethor. Will the Empire be saved, or finally destroyed?

We're proud to announce that House Reborn is now live on PC! Experience an epic story through two new episodes starring J.G. Hertzler, Robert O'Reilly, Rekha Sharma, and our two newest cast members. Sam Witwer is stepping into the shoes of Kenneth Mitchell, taking on the role of Tenavik under Ken's direction. And Mary Chieffo is joining the story as well, reprising her role of L'Rell from the first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery. What role could L'Rell have to play in this tale? You'll have to dive into House Reborn to find out.

But that's not all. With the release of this new update, we've completed our rework of the Klingon Starting Experience. Begin a new Klingon character now to experience the classic story, brought to the modern era with redesigned levels, updated character and environment art, new cutscenes, new voiceovers, and more. For the first time, you'll be able to experience that story as a Klingon from the Discovery era. It's the perfect time to be a Klingon - not least of which because the Klingon Recruitment Event begins today as well. Your new Klingon will be embroiled in a mysterious story, hunting down Enemies of the Empire for a shadowy benefactor. Play through the game as a Klingon, and unlock new Recruit rewards, like an exclusive T6 Ship, the M'Chla Refit! And of course, when you reach level 65 with any KDF character, you'll unlock the ability to fly every ship in the game across your entire account.

On top of all of that, it's our 11th Anniversary! Our game has officially been going strong for more than a decade now, and we want to celebrate with you. Join in the Anniversary Event through playing much of the new story content, or through playing the classic Omega Molecule Stabilization Game. Doing so will allow you to progress towards unlocking the first ever ship designed in concert between the Klingons and Romulans, the Temer-class Raider. And the Picard Zhat Vash Lock Box is here, giving you access to all kinds of twisted Romulan tech.

We're so excited to shout "Qapla'!" with you, Captains! See you on the honorable battlefield.

Star Trek Online: House Shattered Now Live!

Following the events of June’s House Divided, Captains found themselves on the run, accused of a crime they didn’t commit. Chancellor J’mpok of the Klingon Empire has gone mad with power and jealousy, partnering with Aakar, Gowron’s grandfather, to devastate the peaceful planet of Khitomer. Attempting to destroy all his enemies at once, he framed this crime on the renegade Klingon Matriarch J’ula, legendary General Martok, and you. Now, this ramshackle alliance must find a way to clear their names and try and set things right. With help from the mysterious Witch of Nimbus III, Adet'pa, they might do it, but even that won’t set everything right. If J’mpok is removed from power, there is nothing standing in J’ula’s way of seizing control – and she may be no better than the Mad Chancellor.

House Shattered is our latest story update to Star Trek Online. In it, you’ll find a brand new episode, “Partisans,” where Captains can team up with Martok, J’ula, Adet'pa and the crew of the Orion Syndicate ship The Coldstar, in a race to find the evidence to clear their names. J.G Hertzler as Martok, Robert O’Reilly as Aakar, and Rekha Sharma as Adet'pa all return to Star Trek Online in this brand new adventure that advances the story began in House Divided.

In addition, a brand new Task Force Operation, Synth Wave, takes Captains to the infamous invasion of Mars from Star Trek: Picard. With Utopia Planetia’s android workforce in revolt, how many lives can you save? This scenario brings a brand new gameplay style, with an ever-shrinking environment and wave after wave of Synth ships closing in.

With House Shattered, we’re also adding a brand new ship to the Infinity Lock Box, the Mirror Warship. This Constitution-class ship is overhauled by technology from the Mirror Universe, and turned into a devastating flagship of the Empress. Five new items from Star Trek: Enterprise are joining the Lobi Store, allowing access to long awaited items like the M.A.C.O. Rifle.

The Experimental Upgrade System is live today as well. For a limited time, everyone in the game gets one of these tokens for free, allowing them to add a Device Slot, a Console Slot, and a new Trait Slot to their favorite T5-U or T6 ships. This brand new system brings exciting new options to your favorite ships. Additional tokens are available in the Ultra Rare tier of the Phoenix Prize Pack, and the Zen Store.

Finally, as part of the Year of Klingon, we’ve updated the Warzone Mission Arc for Klingon characters. Play through two completely remade maps, gameplay improvements across all missions, brand new cutscenes, and the debut of Shannon Cochran as the voice of Lady Sirella. Female Klingon Captains will find new head options available, as well.

We can’t wait to see you fight to clear your names, Captains. Qapla!

Star Trek Online: Legacy Now Live!

Our 10th Anniversary is here, and the Legacy begins. Star Trek Online: Legacy is live right now! Cryptic Studios is over the moon to present our Tenth Anniversary Celebration to our fans on PC starting today, and on Xbox One and Playstation 4 March 3rd. We’re excited to share all of the content in Legacy with you, some of which you’ve known about, some of which is brand new.

First up, a brand new, two part episode, The Measure of Morality. This episode returns Captains to Excalbia, from the Original Series episode “The Savage Curtain.” The Excalbians have decided to put on another test of Good and Evil, and your characters will play a major part in it. But you won’t be alone. Returning to the game for the first time since Delta Rising, Jeri Ryan portrays a Seven of Nine that’s different from any we’ve seen before. And for the first time ever, Sonequa Martin-Green joins the cast to bring Michael Burnham to life! These episodes are a love letter to the past and future of Star Trek Online, and we think you’ll love this jaunt down memory lane.

The Anniversary Event also comes with a major prize – the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser. This new ship, the first to combine Federation and Klingon technology, is a sign of the peace that’s beginning to dawn across the galaxy. You can earn it by participating in the returning Omega Molecule Stabilization Event, by playing The Measure of Morality, or by participating in the brand new Task Force Operation, To Hell With Honor. Bring your starships to J’Ula’s shipyards on a distant moon, and battle one of the largest enemies we’ve ever created in the game.

The Borg are a huge part of STO’s history, which is why, for the anniversary, we’re giving you a chance to assimilate their technology for your own. The Borg Lock Box offers Hugh’s ship, upgraded for a new era, as the Borg Juggernaut. It also contains new powers for your Captain, like the ability to assimilate enemy ships and bend them to your cause. On top of that, we’re adding a favorite Task Force Operation of the last few years, The Mycelial Realm to regular TFO rotation, for you to play any time.

It’s a bold new world out there, Captains. Go out and claim your Legacy.
