With the release of Peru Hunting Reserve comes a new patch for everyone.

New DLC: Peru Hunting Reserve

Hunt 10 new animals, for 14 species total across Andean foothills, through misty cloud forests, to dense river jungles, giving you 3 distinct biomes.

Explore Peru through 60 new story missions, including the mission-exclusive Old Scar Jaguar. The Notice Board allows to choose how you want to spend your time in Intisuyu, whether it’s by hunting, exploration, or volunteering at the Animal Sanctuary. Peru also comes with a new crossbow, the Dahler Reverse Draw CB-150.

Full animal roster ( * = new ): South American Tapir*, Ocelot*, Greater Grison*, Western Mountain Coati*, Vicuña*, Capybara*, Spectacled Bear*, Jaguar* (with new Great One!), Black Caiman*, Taruca*, Whitetail Deer, Cinnamon Teal, Collared Peccary, and Puma.

Mountain Goat Truracs

All Mountain Goat horn have been completely redone.

_* No populations were harmed in the remastering of these horns. All existing animals on your reserve will shed their horns to grow new ones instead. _

** Known issue: existing Mountain Goats on your map will display difficulty levels that are higher than they used to be. Do not fret, because the displayed difficulty has no effect on the animal’s rack, trophy score, or medal potential.

Adjustments
  • Bengal Tigers will be more clever when in danger of being spotted, making for a more roarsome experience on Nepal.

  • Your dog should act more natural around water.

  • Game Feeders should attract animals like they did before the previous patch. Boars had peace for long enough.

  • Tent placement has been adjusted, allowing you to set up camp on slightly steeper inclines.

  • We optimized various different systems to reduce memory usage and increase stability across the board. The only thing you might notice is a smoother experience if you’re playing on something with limited memory.

Bug Fixes
Animals
  • Made Grizzly Bear footprints look like they were made by paws rather than hooves.

  • Hog Deer trophies will be categorized as having antlers, rather than horns.

  • _Brown Bear _skeletons have been reconnected in x-ray view.

  • Touched up the _Whitetail Deer’s _stomach, which was previously deforming unnaturally when in movement, creating shading and clipping issues.

  • Stopped the Whitetail Deer elbow and shoulder bones from breaking unnaturally in movement.

  • Smoothed out the Gray Fox’s unintended belly dent that is visible in some poses, particularly as trophies.

  • The Collared Peccary’s spine has been reconnected to its rear and head areas on x-ray view in the harvest screen.

  • Fixed an issue where Eurasian Woodcock trophies would change colors in the lodge depending on your graphics settings.

  • Did more eye surgery on the European Badger and Mountain Goat, whose eyes weren’t pointing in the right directions.

  • Bengal Tigers should correctly play call animations and sounds while walking.

  • Fixed an issue where one of the large Moose TruRacs base models didn’t have variations. This fix adds the appropriate variations and recalculates the scores to match. Any pre-existing trophies using this antler model won’t have scores adjusted. Existing moose already on your maps may get new antlers.

  • Gave Wolves more sense of direction. Previously they would frequently turn around, stop, and start unnaturally while fleeing within a pack. Hopefully now they find their way home.

  • Fixed an issue where _Snow Geese _would sometimes flicker between darker and lighter colors when flying.

Equipment
  • On Tòrr nan Sithean, we fixed an issue where some small, portable structures could be placed in invalid locations underground at Caisteal an Eilein.

  • The Cassidy Combination Shotgun is now properly categorized as a shotgun when completing objectives which require use of shotguns. It’s a shotgun.

  • The Carcass Feeder and Mineral Lick will now play sounds when filled.

  • Game Feeders filled from the map will also play sound.

Gameplay
  • Fixed an issue where if network connection was lost while riding the ATV, your character would develop broken animations and deformed joints. We’re sorry you had to experience that.
Missions
  • On N_ew England Mountains_, we fixed the New England Landmarks mission that was previously impossible to complete if you visited a landmark before picking up the mission.

  • On Emerald Coast, we fixed several issues blocking progression for the In Saltie Territory mission.

  • On Medved Taiga, missions Federal Eco Service #5, An Influential Person #2, and Bears for Grankin #2 are no longer blocked.

  • On Vurhonga Savanna, we fixed an issue where The Maritz Final Exam could be successfully completed with Gold or lower Cape Buffalo and not with higher medals, when it should only accept Gold and higher. You’ll need to really prove yourself to Dr. Maritz next time.

  • On Salzwiesen Park, we fixed an issue where you could get stuck in a tent at Henkelpott Outpost.

  • On Tòrr nan Sithean, we raised up a fence and bulletin board that were previously clipping into the ground at Crow Crown.

  • On Sundarpatan, we grounded a floating tree near Ramthali Outpost.

  • On Tòrr nan Sithean, we added some soothing crackling fire sounds to the silent campfire at McLachlan Edge.

Since many of you hated the joke we had on Patch 9.0 and we enjoyed seeing your upset reactions, here’s another one from a community moderator, Laughing_JCKL:

Jaguar: did you hear about the Jaguar that attacked a hunter?

Hunter: No I did not.

Jaguar: that is because I am a quiet jaguar.

[muffled sounds of Jaguar violence]

Patch 9.1 Notes

* The new patch arrives on Tuesday, April 14th with Multi-Class Weapon Pack DLC.

New DLC: Multi-Class Weapon Pack

On top of the patch, you can purchase a new weapon pack DLC that equips you with 3 new bolt-action rifles and 1 new combination shotgun, allowing you to hunt all animal classes with just one pack.

For $5.99 you’ll get:

  • RICHARDSSON .500: Powerful, straight-pull rifle for the largest game. Covers classes 8-9.

  • JONEROS .17HMR: Highly accurate rifle ideal for birds and other small game. Covers classes 1-2.

  • ALIS PRECISION SHOT .25-06: Reliable choice for a wide range of medium game. Covers classes 2-7.

  • CASSIDY COMBINATION SHOTGUN .22MAG: Break-action weapon that essentially gives you both a rifle and shotgun in one metal package, allowing you to instantly adapt to any hunting scenario. Covers classes 1-8.

New Fallow Deer Furs

One rare and two very rare new fur variations have been added to all Fallow Deer populations on both male and female: Acromelanistic, Erythristic, and Leucistic.

The new furs will have a chance to appear on any Fallow Deer both existing and new. This means with the patch, existing Fallow Deer on your map may change fur types according to the new distribution of furs.

New Moose Antlers

11 new antlers of various shapes and sizes are now available through the TruRacs system for Moose. Additionally, all existing antlers have been remastered.

New Great One: Roe Deer

If you are lucky, you may now find a Fabled Roe Deer on _Hirs_chefelden, Cuatro Colinas, or Tòrr nan Sithean. The new Great One has 6 possible fur variants: Kindledawn, Wildfire, Ghostveil, Moonmarked, Mistbound, and Rustveil.

On top of the 6 furs, there are also hundreds of possible TruRac combinations, making whichever Great One variant you come across truly feel unique.

Improvements
Performance
  • Reserves with large amounts of water have had optimizations to water and physics interactions to improve performance.

Bug Fixes
Animals
  • Certain hunters were missing their whimsy modifier and were thus completely unable to see the completely fictional mythical Haggis creature on Scotland. We’ve evened out the playing field by handing out whimsy to those who lacked it.

  • Did surgery on all Badgers to remove organs that weren’t supposed to be there. Kinda like our appendix, they weren’t doing anything useful.

  • Reduced the probability of getting Uncommon _Dark Brown _and Light Brown plumages for Wild Turkey.

Equipment
  • Fixed an issue where you could get stuck by jumping under a Hanging Carcass Feeder, making you the next bait.

  • We made it so that you can’t place items too close to each other to prevent a bug where item icons could overlap and make it difficult to place or interact.

Gameplay
  • Last update, we fixed a bug where harvesting an animal on top of a _Game Feeder _would open both menus. This change had an unintended consequence that you would always have to look at a very specific part of the animal to harvest it. We have reverted the change, but also brought back the overlapping menu bug for now.
Missions
  • On Silver Ridge Peaks, the UI on the Out of Her Comfort Zone mission will show a human icon rather than an imposter Snow Leopard.
Multiplayer
  • An issue that could cause animals to spawn too close to the session host has been resolved.
System
  • Fixed a crash that could happen if you tried to rapidly open the menu again after fast traveling to another map.
Trophies
  • Dark Brown and Light Brown plumages for Wild Turkey are now correctly labelled as Uncommon in the Trophy Manager rather than Very Rare.

  • Starting weapons on display in your Trophy Lodge should consistently remain where they were when starting a New Game.

  • Fixed a shader issue that caused certain animals to grow creepy-looking spikes below their mount on the trophy preview.

UI
  • The _Merriam Turkey _is now centered on the preview screen when placing it on the Special Wall Mount branch.

  • Previewing scopes will show your default reticle when first entering the scope customization menu, rather than making you choose it manually each time.

  • In Spanish, we fixed an issue where text wasn’t fitting in certain parts of the Trophy Filters menu.

  • Fixed an issue where you couldn’t exit the Backpack Overloaded popup after buying an item that would put you over the inventory limit.

  • You should no longer get the option to Cuztomize a tent that isn’t yours if it’s saved in your loadout and will instead only get the option to_ Buy_.

  • Fixed an issue where the scroll bar in the Customization Menu wasn't reseting after closing and reopening the menu.

  • Resolved an issue where a tooltip on the Map Menu would flicker when using controller.

  • Fixed a bug where selecting Cancel on the fast-travel drop down menu would cause multiple Cancel options to show up on the next attempts.

  • Class 5 animals in the codex should show the Class 5 Boar icon rather than incorrectly displaying the Class 4 Deer icon.

World
  • Removed an invisible wall near some trees near Cuairt Ùraisg on Tòrr nan Sithean, so no you aren’t crazy.

Patch Notes | Patch 9.0

New Mule Deer Furs

Three new, very rare fur variations have been added to all Mule Deer populations: Erythristic Red, Erythristic Isabelline, and Mosaic.

Improvements
Trophy Lodge UI
  • Improved the visualization of trophies in the Trophy Lodge customization screen.

  • It should be clearer which trophy you’re selecting when browsing through trophies in the Trophy Manager.

  • Added a new panel to the Game Feeder menu which shows which animals they attract.

  • Replaced the icon displayed when spotting an animal at a Game Feeder to be clear that it's not actually a Need Zone.

  • The "Feeder was destroyed" notification now uses a pop-up that doesn't require you to dismiss it manually.

Animal Populations
  • Populations for Stubble Quail and Magpie Goose on Emerald Coast have been reset. This should fix any lingering issues with animals being scored too high and even bring a little bit of peace to the fan subreddit.

Bug Fixes

  • Capercaillies should react with faster when threatened.

Audio
  • Fixed an issue where repair sounds didn't play when fixing a Game Feeder.

  • The train on New England Mountains now sounds like a train.

Customization
  • If you have the Sundarpatan Cosmetic Pack, you should now properly see your Varnished Cedar Woodgrain customization.
Equipment
  • An issue where .410 slugs wouldn’t travel more than 100m has been resolved.

  • Fixed an issue where items could sometimes not be equipped correctly if you had the Aim Toggle option on.

  • It should now be easier to Spot the American Mink and Eurasian Pine Marten at long ranges.

  • Animals will no longer gather on ground above a Game Feeder placed in a cave.

  • Game Feeders disabled by Hunting Pressure should now re-enable after Hunter Pressure is removed without needing to reload the map.

  • Fixed an issue where animals could occasionally appear out of thin air when exiting a Treestand.

  • Bears should now be less enthusiastic about destroying Box Feeders when you’re resting**.**

Graphics
  • Fixed an issue that had caused trees to not render properly at very long range.
Missions
  • Resolved an issue on Scotland where you could get stuck on the Haggis Hunt mission if you spotted the "haggis" too quickly.

  • Fixed an issue on Scotland where the name of the "haggis" wasn’t displaying correctly in the HUD after spotting it during the Haggis Hunt mission.

  • Removed a test mission on Sundarpatan that had mysteriously appeared.

  • Fixed a crash on Scotland that could happen if you approached Piper’s Pit while on the Pipe Down mission and either playing in a language that had a long text strings in the subtitles or had the subtitle display size significantly increased.

Multiplayer
  • Fixed an issue where hosts placing structures on a map would reveal small areas for others in the session, even when playing singleplayer afterwards.

  • When a host removes a trophy in their lodge, other players will now be able to see the trophy update.

  • A bug that prevented hosts from placing a Game Feeder after leaving and rejoining their session has been fixed.

  • Animal groups showing up at different players' Game Feeders in a session should now be more consistent.

System
  • The game will save less frequently when a Game Feeder is active.

  • Fixed an issue where you could sometimes get stuck on a loading screen when transitioning to a map you had previously visited during the same session.

  • Resolved a crash that could occur if you had a lot of bird corpses piled in one place. Way too many in the first place if you ask me.

Trophies
  • Fixed several issues with Trophy Stands and Mounts that appeared visually inconsistent when using the new Trophy Customization options.

  • Fixed a visual clipping issue with a “horns only” Wall Mount for the Blacktail Deer.

  • On our livestream in December, Flinter suggested the medals on Premium Trophy Plaques were super high tech and “motion-activated”. While we appreciate the enthusiasm, this was a bug and not a feature. They should now be visible at all angles and distances.

  • The trophy medals on Massive and Medium Round Platforms should now be visible.

  • Fixed an issue where the Huddle Roe Multimount wasn’t properly displaying every deer.

  • Removed several duplicate poses for the Coyote.

  • Fixed an issue where non-English languages would break the species filters in the Trophy Lodge menu.

  • The missing silver outline on a menu icon for one of the Premium Platforms is now appearing as intended.

  • Resolved a bug where you could accidentally open the Harvest Screen and the Game Feeder refill menu at the same time if your harvest was close to a feeder.

  • If a Game Feeder is destroyed, the Game Feeder interaction menu will no longer stay open.

  • Fixed a bug where Game Feeders could be marked as inactive before running out of bait if they had less than 1% left.

  • Refilling a Game Feeder from the map will no longer cause the map to shift position in the background.

  • Fixed an issue where you could break the Harvest Screen if you accidentally pulled up the Inspect screen while managing your saved harvests.

It was suggested that our Patch Notes should have more jokes in them, so to finish them off, enjoy a joke from our community Discord moderator, Grimalkin.

The Game Feeder Pack | Out now!

Gain control over your hunting grounds with the Game Feeders Pack. Strategically deploy Game Feeders and specific baits to attract wildlife to your desired location, transforming your hunting strategy.

The Box Feeder

Target deer species with precision. Four gravity-fed chutes attract your intended prey while keeping broader-snouted animals away. Elevated design protects bait from pests, but bears can destroy it. Choose placement carefully for high-reward, high-risk hunting.

Supported bait: Fortified Pellet Feed, Multigrain Flake Mix

The Post Feeder

The raised structure of the post feeder has solar-powered technology that automatically dispenses bait over time. It’s easy raise-and-lower refilling mechanism and robust metal construction withstands bear attacks. The post feeder is a reliable, long-term animal attraction without the risk.

Supported bait: Fortified Pellet Feed, Multigrain Flake Mix

The Bait Barrel Feeder

The Bait Barrel Feeder will keep the bears and boars busy and let the other animals eat from one of your other feeders. This rugged steel drum withstands aggressive wildlife without damage. Multiple drilled holes provide steady bait distribution while the blue barrel stays visible in dense terrain. It’s a prime choice when durability matters most.

Supported bait: Sour Fermented Mash, Meat Scraps
