From Dune: Awakening

Greetings Sleepers,

Patch 1.5.1.0 is now available on the Public Test Client. This major update coincides with the console launch and introduces two new features: single-player mode and a character-centric experience. It also includes a long list of changes and fixes. For this reason, we are releasing an early, experimental version of the patch on the PTC to gather your feedback early and improve the experience for everyone on September 22. This means that the version we’re releasing today for testing presents numerous work in progress and placeholder elements we plan to iterate on during the Public Test Client period.

This update will be available on the PTC for a longer period than usual, and we look forward to reading your feedback after you've had a chance to try out the new changes and features!

To assist you with testing, don’t forget to take advantage of the Progression Unlock Panel (only available in the PTC) where aside from getting resources and gear, XP and unlocking Journey chapters, you can unlock faction ranks and crafting materials.

Learn more about our Public Test Clients and how they work (https://funcom.helpshift.com/hc/en/4-dune-awakening/faq/69-dune-awakening-public-test-client/). The best place to discuss the PTC is the relevant Steam Discussion Board and our Discord server exclusively for the PTC.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • New single-player mode! Select between different difficulty presents or customize the game settings, and survive Arrakis on your own, your way.

  • New character-centric experience: Create and browse through your characters from the main menu and choose where to bring them each time you play.

  • Major performance improvements and optimizations.

  • Combat balancing pass, with improvements to melee, NPC balancing and much more.

  • Restructured the way difficulty and reward scaling works in overland dungeon maps to make the overall experience more rewarding for the amount of effort invested.

  • Improvements to the tutorialization and new player onboarding.

  • Improvements to UI, gamepad support and rumble haptics!

  • Two new face tattoos are now available for your character: Sandworm's Eye and The Maker's Markings. These tattoos were designed thanks to the input of our community during our First Anniversary livestream.

Dune: Awakening - 1.4.10.0 Patch Notes

Added 1
  • Five new Landsraad missions across Hagga Basin and Smuggler's Run
Changed 4
  • Improved visibility during Coriolis build-up in Hagga Basin by removing wind particles, increasing buildup duration, and decreasing fog density in the final hour
  • Made cargo containers heavier to prevent being easily pushed around by other vehicles
  • Players are now pushed off ornithopters at higher speeds while remaining able to stand on them at lower speeds
  • UNSTUCK menu feature now teleports players to the start location inside Overland map dungeons instead of finding the closest valid spot

From Dune: Awakening

Greetings Sleepers.

We have a large patch full of tweaks, fixes, and additions, including five new Landsraad missions! Thanks to those who sent in feedback and reports; we’ll continue to monitor those along with this patch.

:handshake: – denotes changes made based on player feedback.

Changes implemented during the Public Test Client testing are marked in blue.

For the list of known issues, please visit our Discord server or Steam discussion boards.

Highlights
  • Five new Landsraad missions across Hagga Basin and Smuggler’s Run!

  • Improved visibility during Coriolis build-up in Hagga Basin. Wind particles were removed, and the buildup duration was increased. For the final hour of the storm build-up, the fog density was decreased.

  • Made the cargo container heavier so that it is not easily pushed around by other vehicles.

  • Players are now pushed off ornithopters at higher speeds. Standing on a flying vehicle enabled unintended combat tactics, particularly in PvP. You can still stand on ornithopters at lower speeds.

  • The UNSTUCK menu feature will now work differently inside Overland map dungeons by teleporting the player to the start location. Outside of overland map dungeons the behavior will be the same as before - it will attempt to find the closest valid spot and teleport the player to that location.

Features and Changes

  • ‘Contemplation Tea House’ decoration set

  • ‘Master Operative of the Dunes’ light armor

  • Implemented a new main menu notification to highlight Anniversary Event information.

  • Added an option to change the battlegroup's broadcasted IP after setup, and moved the logic inside the VM for usage within Linux.

  • The battlegroup edit has now options for the director so that users can adjust settings like "Minimum Servers" for each map, and the adjusted settings will persist with battlegroup restarts.

Fixes
  • Fixed in-game event notifications to correctly display players' local time zone.

  • In-game event notifications are no longer triggered on map change and on every login.

Update 1.4 Live Now!

Added 5
  • Two new locations: The Wind Pass and The Old Quarry Testing Station
  • Five new Landsraad missions in The Wind Pass with unique rewards
  • New boss Dr. Jalanta with unique mechanics in The Old Quarry Testing Station
  • Self-hosting capability for Dune: Awakening battlegroups on player machines with customizable server settings
  • Water Wars DLC with Water Shipper-themed building pieces, cosmetics, armor variants, weapon variants, ornithopter variant, and emotes
Changed 1
  • PvP is now fully optional, allowing players to customize the balance of PvE and PvP on their servers

From Dune: Awakening

Greetings Sleepers,

The new Update 1.4 is officially available. This update introduces two new locations and new Landsraad missions. In addition, the Water Wars DLC launches today, adding Water Shipper–themed building pieces and cosmetics.

The Wind Pass

Once a Harkonnen tech hub, the Wind Pass is now controlled by the Water Shippers and serves as a key center of Arrakis’ water trade. This location also brings five new Landsraad missions with unique rewards.

The Old Quarry Testing Station

A scalable new Testing Station where players will face Dr. Jalanta, a devious new boss with her own set of unique mechanics, hidden deep within her secret laboratory.

Self-Hosting Now an Option

Players can now selfhost Dune: Awakening battlegroups on their own machines and customize their experience. Hosts can adjust various settings through configuration files to tailor server behavior. Among a myriad of other settings you can tweak, you can also adjust the balance of PvE and PvP, even making your server fully PvE or PvE if you prefer. This feature is still an early iteration and will continue to evolve.

PVP Now Optional

Approaching the one‑year anniversary, the game has received more than 15 updates — including the recent change making PvP fully optional, giving players full control over how they experience Arrakis.

Bigger Things to Come

Update 1.4 is not a Chapter update. It’s a smaller release while the team continues work on major upcoming content. Beyond the recently discussed Polar Cap map, even more is in development: new features, new content, and the continuation of the main story.

Sale and Community Event (May 22nd - June 1st)

To celebrate the launch of Update 1.4, Dune: Awakening is 40% off on Steam, bringing the price below $30 / €30. Funcom is also launching the Community Challenge: Secrets of the Water Shippers, challenging players to complete **The Old Quarry **as many times as possible. If all milestones are hit, there are two unique weapon variants to unlock: the Vivisectionists Bone Saw, and the Asteroid Harvester Maula Pistol.

Water Wars DLC

Also available today, the Water Wars DLC adds Water Shipper–inspired building pieces and cosmetics based on the dynasty that dominates Arrakis’ water economy. This DLC completes the Season Pass, included in the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions. Price: $9.99, or included in the Season Pass ($24.99 / €24.99).

The Water Wars DLC contains:

  • Water Shippers Building Set (52 pieces)

  • Water Shippers Decoration Set (18 pieces)

  • Water Shippers Stillsuit Variant Set

  • Water Shippers Light Armor Variant Set

  • Water Shippers Heavy Armor Variant Set

  • Water Shippers Weapon Variants

  • 1 x Melee

  • 1 x Ranged

  • Water Shippers Scout Ornithopter Variant

  • Water Shippers Swatch

  • Water Shippers 2 x Emotes

Public Test Client: Patch 1.4.0.0

Added 3
  • New overland map location The Wind Pass, a former Harkonnen tech hub now controlled by the Water Shippers
  • New overland map location The Old Quarry Testing Station where players encounter the scientist Dr. Jalanta
  • Self-hosting servers feature allowing players to host Dune Awakening worlds on their own machines with customizable configuration settings
Fixed 1
  • Fixed an issue where players who betrayed their faction at rank 20 had to replay faction content for their new faction

From Dune: Awakening

Greetings, Sleepers!

Update 1.4 is here to give you the opportunity to check out and provide feedback before it’s pushed to the live client. To reiterate, this is a smaller update rather than a whole chapter update; there is more story content, new locations, new features, and even a whole new map coming in the future so stay tuned for more on that!

To assist you with testing, don’t forget to take advantage of the Progression Unlock Panel (only available in the PTC) where aside from getting resources and gear, XP and unlocking Journey chapters, you can unlock faction ranks and crafting materials.

Please note this is still a Work in Progress build and as a result you may found placeholder text and assets in it. This will be polished during the PTC period.

Learn more about our Public Test Clients and how they work (https://funcom.helpshift.com/hc/en/4-dune-awakening/faq/69-dune-awakening-public-test-client/). The best place to discuss the PTC is the relevant Steam Discussion Board and our PTC Discussion server on Discord.

Highlights
  • NEW Overland Map locations:

  • The Wind Pass: Once a Harkonnen tech hub, now a key point in Arrakis’ water trade under the control of the Water Shippers.

  • The Old Quarry Testing Station: Players will confront the morally questionable scientist Dr. Jalanta, operating from a hidden laboratory.

  • NEW The first iteration of Self-hosting Servers is now available for testing!

  • Self-hosting is a way to host Dune Awakening world on your own machines and connect to them. Hosts will be able to tweak various settings in configuration files to change the behavior of the game servers to their liking.

  • You can read the full technical documentation on how to set up a self-hosted server in our blog post.

  • Fixed an issue where players who betrayed their faction at rank 20 would have to replay faction content for their new faction.

Greetings, Sleepers!

Patch 1.3.10.0 is now available, and with it, we're introducing a new, unique overland location: the Ruins of Tsimpo. This new location comes with five new repeatable Landsraad missions, one per specialization.

This patch also adds a myriad of changes and improvements, so be sure to check out the full list below.

Patch notes and hotfixes for subsequent releases in this version will also be found here and updated when they are released. Highlights
  • New location: The Ruins of Tsimpo - A ruined village which once held important strategic value during the War of Assassins. Since then, Tsimpo has been considered a haunted place, with those who venture there to plunder returning to speak of ghosts and madness.

  • This new unique location is accessible via the overland map.

  • Five new Landsraad missions tied to the Ruins of Tsimpo (one per specialization) have been added.

  • Adjusted PvP damage dealt to vehicles and structures to better handle the increased damage output from high grade weapons and augments.

  • Items with a durability higher than 100 due to having Crafting Specialization will now show that they have improved durability.

  • Changed Landsraad end time to be 5 minutes before the Coriolis apex, so that there is almost no downtime to when Landsraad missions can be played.

  • This also means that voting and the previously elected decree last until 5 minutes before Coriolis reset.

  • A new Battle Rifle variant, which was unlocked as a stretch goal during the Raiders of the Lost Stations global community challenge, is now available.

  • Log in to the game between March 25 and April 25, 2026, to automatically receive it in your customization menu.
