Summer Sweep Up Miscellaneous

This year's Summer Sweep Up changes continue! This week, we're bringing the remaining changes into the game, with one exception: the pet changes - allowing pets to follow you into content like the Gauntlet, Fossil Island's Underwater area, various minigames, and respawn with you on death. While the pet changes didn't make it in this time around, they're planned for release in the next two weeks. Now without further ado, let's dive in!

Unsireds

Unsireds from the Abyssal Sire can now be stacked in the bank! Previously, their loot was rolled when the Unsired dropped, which meant each one had to retain separate information about its potential reward and prevented them from stacking. However, we've now changed that! Unsireds will now roll their loot when they’re used on the Font of Consumption instead. They’ll still drop from the Abyssal Sire as normal, and the existing protection against receiving duplicate bludgeon pieces remains unchanged.

Necklace of Fangs

Ranged jewellery is fairly limited for players progressing through Slayer, with few upgrades prior to the Anguish coming into play. To help fill that gap, we’ve added the Necklace of Fangs to the Turoth drop table.

The Necklace of Fangs provides +12 Ranged Accuracy and +1 Ranged Strength and drops from Turoths at a rate of 1/128. You can also obtain the necklace from Spiked Turoths.

New Magic Amulets

Magic jewellery is similarly lacking in upgrades for elemental spellcasters, so we’ve introduced a set of amulets focused on Air, Water, Earth and Fire spells:

Amulet of Air

  • Made combining an Amulet of magic, Air diamond, 100 air runes
  • Requires Level 18 Runecraft

Amulet of Water

  • Made combining an Amulet of magic, Water sapphire, 100 water runes
  • Requires Level 19 Runecraft

Amulet of Earth

  • Made combining an Amulet of magic, Earth emerald, 100 earth runes
  • Requires Level 20 Runecraft

Amulet of Fire

  • Made combining an Amulet of magic, Fire ruby, 100 fire runes
  • Requires Level 21 Runecraft

Elemental Amulet

  • Made combining Amulets of Air, Water, Earth, Fire and 500 of matching runes for each element
  • Requires Level 30 Runecraft

In a nutshell, each elemental amulet is created by combining an Amulet of magic, the relevant elemental jewel and 100 of matching runes.

These elemental jewels are available as new drops from Slayer creatures at a rate of 1/64:

  • Air diamond: Dropped by Killerwatts.
  • Water sapphire: Dropped by Sea Snake Hatchlings.
  • Earth emerald: Dropped by Molanisks.
  • Fire ruby: Dropped by Infernal Mages.

Each individual amulet provides +10 Magic Accuracy and increases the maximum hit of its corresponding elemental spells by 2. Plus, the Elemental Amulet provides +10 Magic Accuracy and increases the maximum hit of all elemental spells by 2, giving players a single useful option when switching between elemental spell types.

Shark Lure Improvements

Shark Lures have received a small buff to make them a more worthwhile way of speeding up harpoon fishing.

The effect depends on how many lures you’re using:

  • 1 lure: 50% chance to reduce the action delay from 5 ticks to 4.
  • 3 lures: Always reduces the action delay from 5 ticks to 4.
  • 5 lures: Always reduces the action delay from 5 ticks to 4, with an additional 50% chance to reduce it further from 4 ticks to 3. Ghommal’s Lucky Penny Ghommal’s Lucky Penny can now be consumed to unlock its charge-saving effect, meaning the penny no longer needs to be worn. The effect now also applies to the Amulet of Blood Fury.

As with other Combat Achievement rewards, the effect will deactivate if you lose Master-tier completion and will become active once more when that tier is regained.

Seed Vault Locking

The Seed Vault now supports inventory locking, allowing you to choose which of your inventory slots should be left untouched when depositing seeds and saplings. You can enable inventory locks from the Seed Vault interface, then select the slots you want to protect.

Surge potion cooldown

Dying during a Chambers of Xeric raid will no longer reset your Surge potion cooldown. This brings Chambers in line with the Theatre of Blood and Tombs of Amascut, where the cooldown is preserved when you die during a raid.

Player-Owned House Lecterns

All Player-Owned House lecterns now have a 'Create-Last' option which remembers the last tablet and quantity selected when using the same type of lectern. The lectern interface will now also remember and display the last option selected, provided you use the same type of lectern as before.

Additional Summer Sweep Up Tweaks
  • Players who own multiple Fishing Sacks can now reclaim 500 Molch pearls for each additional sack they have by talking to Alry the Angler.
  • Abyssal Lanterns can now be stored in Magic Wardrobes, by popular request.

Permanent Deadman Changes

We’ve made some small tweaks to Permanent Deadman Mode to strengthen its risk-based mechanics and address a few problem areas!

  • Players who have recently been in combat can no longer deposit items worth 20,000 GP or more for 24 seconds, except when using a bank in a safe zone.
  • Players must now risk at least 100,000 GP in alch value to attack other players.
  • Players must risk at least 500,000 GP in alch value to attack other players within a certain distance of the Deadman chest.
  • Players must risk at least 1,000,000 GP in alch value and have no Deadman protection remaining to enter raid areas.
  • Ancient Warrior armour can now be traded on the Grand Exchange.
  • The Desert Treasure quest lamp now sets your Herblore level to 3.
  • The Nimbleness charm now works from inside a looting bag when bypassing Agility requirements for shortcuts.
  • One Deadman chest location that could cause players to get trapped and safely open the chest has been removed. Some new locations have been added.
  • Zemouregal’s summoned minions now have a significantly lower wander range from their spawn point.

Other Changes
  • We've resolved the sound effect issues that emerged following last week's game update, affecting various bosses and NPCs including Duke Sucellus, Phantom Muspah, the Whisperer, Vardorvis, Yama, Olm, Blue Moon, and the Wardens.
  • Fixed a bug where Doom of Mokhaiotl's hitpoints bar wouldn't update when it took damage from explosions caused by nearby Demonic Larvae.
  • Fixed a bug where the totems/pillars at Phosani's Nightmare were not showing their health accurately.
  • Loot sacks have been removed from Bounty task rewards and are now only awarded for completing Courier tasks.
  • The Loot Tracker now correctly displays the rewards gained from the Courier Task Loot Sacks.
  • A malfunctioning colour code has been fixed in the shopping list from Mourning's End Pt II.
  • We've fixed a bug where the Aquanite hopper looked for the wrong kind of ammunition when its extra hit triggered. This issue could lead it to fire the wrong kind of bolt, or to claim you couldn't fire that bolt with your current crossbow.
  • Fixed a visual bug with the Mahogany tree top when planted in the Anglers' Retreat hardwood patch.
  • The game selection menu used by the Burthorpe Games Room no longer has overlapping options.

Nex Personal Best Times

Last week, a bug involving the Mad Angel Combat Achievements had unintended effects on how NPC damage was calculated across parts of the game, including at bosses such as Nex. As a result, players were able to achieve kill times that were clearly outside the intended limits of the fight, including times as low as 4.2 seconds.

Following this, players also highlighted that the previous fastest Nex PB was itself the result of an older bug from 2025, where Verac's could be used to kill Nex's minions in an unintended way. We recognise that leaving bugged PBs in the game can create an expectation that those records will remain and should continue to be treated as legitimate. In some cases, however, we may not identify an issue quickly enough to act at the time, or we may only become aware of the full impact later. Our data team also has to balance investigations like this alongside a wide range of other work, so unfortunately some cases can be missed.

To make sure we’re applying the same standard consistently, we’ve gone back through the available Nex data and reviewed both incidents that we're aware of.

  • Our initial review identified 83 extremely fast PBs from last week. After looking more closely at the data, we widened the review to include any PB below 70 ticks that was set during the relevant bug window. This brings the number of affected players from last week to 154.
  • We also revisited the 2025 Nex bug and identified a further 489 PBs from that period which should have been addressed at the time.
  • As a result, we will be changing 643 Nex PBs in total across the two incidents to their values pre-bug abuse.

The Nex record should therefore sit at 42 seconds. Based on the data available to us, we feel confident that the remaining PBs are achievable without relying on bugs.

Our aim is to ensure that PBs and world-record times remain meaningfully competitive and achievable through intended gameplay. Leaving records that rely on bugs in place risks creating an incentive for players to take advantage of similar issues whenever they arise in order to remain competitive, which isn't something we want to encourage.

If you're aware of other areas of the game where you believe similarly unrealistic PBs may have been set as a result of bugs, we're happy to take a look. Moving forward, we'll aim to apply this standard consistently where a bug has resulted in an unrealistic Personal Best. The speed at which we're able to investigate and action individual cases may vary depending on the data available and the resources required.

Thanks for your patience while we investigated this. These changes should be in effect within the next 24 hours, approximately.
