Wyrmscraig and Sailing Changes
-
We've added a shadow beneath the Mad Angel to help you click more accurately during the encounter.
-
The Mad Angel's pet is now the first entry in its Collection Log display.
-
Other players' Golem Crafting sound effects will no longer be heard across the island.
-
Mortimer's dialogue has been updated to clarify the effects of his perks.
-
Some spelling errors have been corrected in the dialogue of Mr Supplies Jnr.
-
You can now train Fishing while on your boat.
-
Instead of the standard 1x1 tile spots, the new fishing spots are 5x5 tiles.
-
These spots are fixed in place and do not move.
-
While on your boat, you can catch the same fish, at the same rates, with the same tool, bait and requirements as you're used to from land.
-
You can't fish while the boat is moving, or while locked into a facility.
-
Sloops and Skiffs support rod fishing, whereas the Raft will support harpoon, net, and lobster pot fishing.
-
Take a look at this section in the blog for a list of fish we've added that you can store in your Cargo Hold.
-
The 'Teleport to Boat' spell has now also been added as an extra perk to the Max Cape, following its addition to the Sailing Skillcape last week.
-
The Portal Nexus now supports teleporting to your 'Last Boat'.
-
Bounty Task descriptions have been updated to match the correct quantity that is listed.
-
Facility bottles now remind you of their contents as you attempt to destroy them on free-to-play worlds, like they do on members' worlds.
-
Adamant keel is now listed in the Sailing skill guide.
The Blood Moon Rises Tweaks
- The description for Maggot King's Speed Chaser Combat Achievement has been clarified.
- Maggot King has been added to the HiScores panel in-game.
- We've updated the chatbox messages for fletching Seeking Arrows to better reflect the quantities being created.
- Fixed a bug where two players entering the Vampyrium portal one tick apart could cause visibility issues.
Permanent Deadman World (345) Tweaks
-
You will no longer receive bank keys, nor lose items from your bank on death.
-
The Stockpiling charm will now note resources to your Inventory, rather than send resources to your bank.
-
Deadman's chests will now spawn once per hour.
-
These chests offer a rare chance to receive Ancient warriors' armours, as well as a very rare chance to receive the Dogsword.
-
If you don't receive either of these, you will obtain a Tier 5 emblem.
-
In order to open a Deadman's chest, you must be risking at least 250,000 GP in alchable equivalent value.
-
Ancient Warrior armours have the same stat requirements as they did in Deadman: Annihilation, which is most noticeably 20 Defence.
-
Archaic emblems (Tier 1 and 5) are now tradeable on the Grand Exchange.
-
The following charms have received additional functionalities:
-
Nimbleness charm now offers unlimited run energy and prevents natural prayer drain.
-
Vulnerability charm now heals you for 10% of the damage you deal.
-
Accumulation charm can now give planks instead of logs, depending on your preference. You can determine which one to receive using the toggle available on the charm.
-
To help free up Inventory space, charms will now also function while stored inside a Looting Bag, provided the Looting Bag is in your Inventory.
-
The Accumulation charm will now give triple XP when catching a Chinchompa, as it used to before Deadman: Annihilation.
-
The fee dropped to PKers and to fix Void Knight equipment pieces has been made significantly more expensive. Additionally, Void Knight equipment pieces purchased from the Pest Control Rewards Shop will now be given in broken state instead of fixed, preventing any potential gold generation.
-
The Ancient Sceptre and Blighted surge sacks have been added to the Emblem Trader store, alongside a new lamp to complete Fairy Tale part 1 and 2 quests.
-
The hitpoints requirement for equipping a Nightmare Staff has been removed.
-
Combat Achievements that are not possible to complete on the Permanent Deadman world have now been disabled.
-
Players will now _always _receive PvP immunity for 1 minute after a successful PvP kill in a single-combat zone. The immunity timer will be displayed in the player's chat, similar to how it was in Deadman: Annihilation.
-
When logging out during the Theatre of Blood or Tombs of Amascut raids, your items will be handled as if it was a typical raid death, as opposed to a Deadman death.
Other Changes
- The Demonic Mark emote has been summoned back after its brief disappearance - oops! You can now access the emote both through the Emote interface or by right-clicking the Demonic Sceptre from the Worn Equipment interface.
- The Raging Echoes Astral Contact animation can now be deselected and changed without issue.
- Fixed a bug where hits that dealt no damage used to count towards Phantom Muspah's form switches.
- On Java-based clients, there's now a setting that allows you to enable or disable the mouse-over text displayed in the top-left corner of the screen.
- Telescopes now work with the Wilderness theme for Player-Owned-Houses.
- Tarnished weapons no longer have a 'Wield' option in their minimenu.
- Some eagle eyed players may spot a new, greyed-out dropdown option in settings called "Renderer Option". This has been added as part of our backend work on the New Renderer and won't be active until the beta goes live. We don't have an ETA to share on this work yet, but we'll keep you posted on the project when we are able. This is only on the Official Client, and no changes have been made to the current live render.
- Fixed an issue where operating the helm while Sailing prevented certain sound effects from playing correctly.
PvP Rota
The PvP rota has moved to Period B:
- 560 - (UK) - PvP World
- 319 - (US) - Bounty Hunter World
- 579 - (US) - High-Risk PvP World

- 580 - (US) - LMS Competitive
World 390 (AUS) for LMS Competitive has been de-activated with this rota.
World 569 (AUS) for Bounty Hunter has been de-activated with this rota.
The PvP Arena is using 'Max/Med' loadouts in Ranked Duels and Tournaments this week.
Wyrmscraig Tweaks
Last week, we launched (https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/a=13/wyrmscraig-is-out-today?oldschool=1#Wyrmscraig), our player-designed island brought to life in collaboration with our competition's winner, (https://x.com/ScreteMonge).
Wyrmscraig includes a new quest, repeatable boss, new Slayer Master and two new skilling activities for Hunter and Crafting!
The team have been blown away by the response we've seen from you on this update.
Before we get into the feedback changes, we have just have one thing to say:
We've also collaborated with (https://x.com/SettledRS) and (https://x.com/ScreteMonge) for a video, where they break down everything you need to know about Wyrmscraig - check it out below!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbCGpGTKo5k
We've reviewed feedback over the last week and we're ready to launch some changes! Let's get into it, shall we?
Goat Hunting
Based on your feedback, we're making some tweaks to Goat Hunter Rumours:
-
We're removing Goat Hunting from the Wolf Hunter Rumour tier. It remains available on the lower-tiers of Hunter Rumours.
-
We're also making Goat Hunter Rumours slightly faster, increasing the Hoof drop rate from 1/50 to 1/48.
-
At level 99 Hunter, you'll now always reach the pity threshold after filling 4 pits.
Going forward, we're aiming to set clearer expectations in polls and newsposts ahead of time where new activities interact with existing metas.
Thanks again for all your feedback. We want to be clear that this change shouldn't set an expectation that Hunter Rumours will _never _see changes to their efficiency or meta over time. In this case, we recognise that we hadn't communicated there would be any impact beforehand, and these adjustments are made to address that.
Mad Angel
-
We're adding a shadow beneath the Mad Angel to help you click more accurately during the encounter.
-
In future, this should become standard for new bosses introduced in the game. Thanks for raising that as feedback to us!
-
The Mad Angel's pet is now the first entry in its Collection Log display. Order successfully restored! Golem Crafting
-
Other players' Golem Crafting sound effects will no longer be heard across the island.
Other
- Mortimer's dialogue has been updated to clarify the effects of his perks.
- Some spelling errors have been corrected in the dialogue of Mr Supplies Jnr.
Future Changes
Later today, a poll is planned to open later to ask whether we should buff the Jeweller's Chisel to speed up bolt tip production! This was a widely requested change, and we love the idea.
We'd like to offer the following additional benefits, subject to polling:
- The Jeweller's Chisel can cut bolts tips from gems at 2 ticks instead of 5.
- Additionally, it will offer 1 in 10 chance to cut 2 gems into bolt tips at once.
Some of you have asked whether we would consider buffing the Jeweller's Chisel also specifically for Golem Crafting. We've reviewed this idea, however, we're not looking to make that change as we think the buff should only affect gems. As bolt tips are made from gems, it makes perfect sense, however, Golem Crafting is separately balanced.
Poll Question:
Should we buff the Jeweller's Chisel as described? (Cut bolt tips from gems at 2 ticks instead of 5, and a 1 in 10 chance to cut 2 gems into bolt tips at once)
Future planned changes
Next week:
- We'll be changing Mad Angel's Clue drops from Hard to Medium.
- We'll also fix an issue with the gem pouch to ensure that gems from Golem Crafting go directly into the gem pouch.
Later this month:
- Mad Angel's Combat Achievements are expected to release in 2 weeks' time.
- Sometime this month, we'll be resizing the Slayer Rewards interface vertically to match your client height.
Thanks again for the fantastic feedback and all of your suggestions!
Lastly, a quick reminder for the Wyrmscraig Art Competition, happening on the RAC Discord! Submit your artwork before August 13th for a chance to win some Bonds! More details on the competition can be found (https://secure.runescape.com/m=news/a=13/wyrmscraig-is-out-today?oldschool=1#Art), and Terms and Conditions (https://osrs.game/RAC-Discord-T&Cs).
Other Sailing Changes
Fishing at Sea
Fishing in Gielinor? Nice. Fishing on a boat IRL? Nice. Fishing on a boat_ in Gielinor_? NICE.
You can now train Fishing while on your boat, as described in our Sailing buffs blog!
- The new fishing spots work the same as always, but they are larger. Instead of the standard 1x1 tile spots, they are 5x5 tiles.
- Unlike the shoals in Deep Sea Trawling, these spots are fixed in place and do not move.
- While on your boat, you can catch the same fish, at the same rates, with the same tool, bait and requirements as you're used to from land.
- You can't fish while the boat is moving, or while locked into a facility.
Let's break down what type of boats support what fishing:
- Sloops and Skiffs support rod fishing.
- The Raft will support harpoon, net, and lobster pot fishing. Whilst this has been designed in this way because of animation limitations, we actually feel that this could give rafts a cool identity as a go-to option for players who also want to have a laid-back Fishing trip at sea, rather than just being something you use in the early game and never touch again.
Here's the list of fish we've added, which you can store in your Cargo Hold:
Catches Uses Boats Raw Sardine
Raw Herring Fishing Rod & Bait All boats Raw Mackerel Raw Cod Raw Bass Useless Junk Big Fishing Net Raft only Raw Sharks Harpoon Raft only Raw Lobsters Lobster Pot Raft only Raw Tuna Raw Swordfish Harpoon Raft only Raw Karambwan Karambwan Vessel (required) and Karambwanji (Quest completion is still required for cooking them.) Raft only Raw Anglerfish Fishing Rod & Sand Worms All boats Raw Monkfish Small Net Raft only
Additional Sailing Changes
- The 'Teleport to Boat' spell has now also been added as an extra perk to the Max Cape, following its addition to the Sailing Skillcape last week.
- The Portal Nexus now supports teleporting to your 'Last Boat'.
- Bounty Task descriptions have been updated to match the correct quantity that is listed.
- Facility bottles now remind you of their contents as you attempt to destroy them on free-to-play worlds, like they do on members' worlds.
- Adamant keel is now listed in the Sailing skill guide.
- Fixed an issue where operating the helm while Sailing prevented certain sound effects from playing correctly.
The Blood Moon Rises Tweaks
Before diving into this week's changes, we'd like to address your feedback on the Maggot King's Speed Chaser task. Many of you told us that the Speed Chaser task is a bit too fast for a Master tier Combat Achievement. Now that we've had more time to review completion data and see how players have been getting on with the task. While it didn't make it in this week, we're aiming to bump the Speed Chaser Combat Achievement up to Grandmaster tier in next week's game update. We believe this will feel more fitting of the task's actual difficulty, and we'll be keeping an eye on your thoughts on this, so let you know what you think on our social platforms.
With that out of the way, let's have a look at this week's changes:
- The description for Maggot King's Speed Chaser Combat Achievement has been clarified.
- Maggot King has been added to the HiScores panel in-game.
- We've updated the chatbox messages for fletching Seeking Arrows to better reflect the quantities being created.
- Fixed a bug where two players entering the Vampyrium portal one tick apart could cause visibility issues.
Permanent Deadman World (345) Tweaks
After Deadman: Annihilation came to an end, we asked the Permanent Deadman community if they'd like to see any of the Deadman: Annihilation changes integrated to the server. During a GameJam, we were able to work on a series of changes for the Permanent Deadman World, based on your feedback. Today, we're bringing you those changes, so let's dive right in!

Other Changes
Before we move on to the other changes, there's something we want to touch on: Some under-the-hood technical changes will soon be visible to any budding developers and dataminers and it's natural to speculate. We're currently doing some exploration into the work required to localise OSRS into other languages. This could be something really exciting, but we want to manage expectations. We'll share more with you when we have something worth sharing, but you may not hear about this again for a very long time.
Now let's continue with what other changes we've got this week:
- The Demonic Mark emote has been summoned back after its brief disappearance - oops! You can now access the emote both through the Emote in
