A minor hotfix (2.11.4) has been released to improve game stability. Please update your game!
A minor hotfix (2.11.3) has been released to improve game stability. Please update your game!
Good morrow, knights! A minor hotfix (2.11.1) has been released with Regicide at Trayan Citadel balance changes, bug fixes, and more!
Fuse Stage
Fuse Timer decreased from 30 seconds down to 25 seconds
Reduced delay in Agathian spawn positioning change during the second phase of placing powder kegs
VIP vs VIP Stage
Increased the possible final timer by 3 minutes
Fixed bug that caused Argon's health to be slightly less than intended
Reduced the spawn delay for Agathian troops by 1 second
Dev Notes: We’ve loved hearing all the reception and feedback towards Trayan Citadel! We’re so glad our community has been enjoying the spectacle of the new map. Although we love that Argon's final push to avenge his father was reflected in this difficulty for attackers, after monitoring matches and feedback since the release, we believe Argon and his troops need a little assistance, particularly in the later half of the map. Do not worry, defenders, as plenty of opportunities remain to hold back the Agathians and protect Malric from these unjust invaders.
Updated Server and Client backend
Made improvements to help prevent the “Party Creation failed” error
Fixed a bug that incorrectly showed the amount of XP earned during boosted XP times
Fixed a bug that would time out party members if the party host switched matches too quickly
Fixed a bug that removed platform icons on the scoreboard after the first match
Fixed a bug that could cause occasional client physics hitching
Updated EOS protections
Implemented multiple crash fixes for Servers and Clients
Fixed a bug that played Mason voice lines when using the Rebel Voice as an Agathian
Although they are a "Rebel" we believe praising the enemy commander would have been going just a little too far
Fixed the name on the previous “Templar Visorless Helmet,” as it did indeed include a visor
Fixed a bug showing the “Painted Maiden Helmet Featherless” as a purchasable cosmetic with gold, where it should only be earnable through the Regicide Campaign Pass
Fixed an issue that could allow a player to access the enemy VIP spawn on Citadel earlier than intended
Fixed a rare bug that could prevent a VIP from spawning on Citadel
Fixed a bug that prevented the spikes on Duel Yard from dealing damage to players
Fixed a potential crash that could occur on Duel Yard
Improved server command protections
Fixed a bug that could kick players out of the match when traveling between maps
Added visual ban list on Nitrado interface
Fixed a case where XP and gold weren’t being correctly awarded on unofficial servers
Additional Notes: Due to the nature of this Hotfix, PC Players will experience a larger-than-average download size when prompted to re-download the game for proper Hotfix installation.
In addition to today's Hotfix notes, we've released a new blog about the future of Chivalry 2.

_After many months of warfare, King Argon II and the allied Agathian noble houses make one final push to breach the walls of Trayan Citadel, the heart of Vantear and the Mason Order. However, Malric Terrowin will not stand for such insolence. Through fire, ash, and bloodshed, the kingdom shall finally decide… _
“Who will sit upon the throne?”
Agathians rally around their final hope in breaching the city walls: their battle ram of war called “The Lion’s Thrust.” In order to safely escort the ram, Agathians must retake the outer encampment from the Masons and regain the frontline strength. Should they breach the walls, the Agathian army must continue and blast their way to Malric’s castle through the Citadel, complete with a dreadful volcano (though some of the details, as told by tavern bards in the past, were highly exaggerated). The final stage will evoke Malric’s wrath, bringing him to the field of battle in a face-off against Argon II, leader of the Agathian Knights. Players must then fight and defend their king. Only one shall have claim to the kingdom!
A brutal weapon for a brutal age. Adding to the Poleman and Engineer’s subclass arsenal, the Goedendag is the shortest polearm of them all but the strongest and most versatile in damage output. While its slashes and overheads deal blunt damage, its stabs deal pierce damage, allowing the weapon to deal maximum damage to multiple class armour types. Be mindful of your attacks depending on the kind of opponent you are facing! In addition, this weapon’s special attack does massive damage against horses, stopping them in their tracks with a successfully timed blow. Take note of your swings during heavy attacks, as they are noticeably slower in comparison to your normal attacks.

_Dev Notes: Since the release of Unofficial Servers with Update 2.10, we’ve been working closely with our Nitrado partners to determine how to enhance this new feature. So far, improvements have been performance issues adjustments, potential bug fixes, adding new Admin options, and implementing Nitrado Steelshield. (An added layer of protection against DDOS attacks)
We’ve also been monitoring the community feedback around the lack of Gold/XP earned within Unofficial Servers and how this difference could make playing within an Unofficial Server less appealing, especially to newer players. As of Update 2.11, Gold and XP gains will be enabled across all Unofficial Servers. We still reserve the right to make adjustments and take action if we see that the improper gain or boosting of Gold/XP becomes popular. Still, we believe that a majority of servers will not abuse this added feature; instead, it will help bolster and highlight the excellent Unofficial Servers that users have been able to create._

Good morrow, knights! A minor hotfix (2.10.2) has been released with new anti-cheat protections.
As our 2.10.1 Hotfix notes mentioned, our team has been working hard on this next stage of anti-cheat protection for Chivalry 2. This security update will help stop users who have been bypassing our anti-cheat protections and add further tools our moderation team can use to address cheaters and their multiple accounts.
We believe this security update will help curb the use of cheats within Chivalry 2, although we know there may still be outliers that bypass even the new protection. Not to worry; our staff and moderation team will be on hand working hard to address any future tickets and reports regarding cheaters.
If you believe you have encountered a user in-game who may be cheating, here are some steps to report them.
In-Game Reporting:
Open the in-game scoreboard.
Xbox Button: Menu Button > Scoreboard
PS Button: Start Button > Scoreboard
PC Key: TAB
Navigate the scoreboard till you find the offending user.
Select the user and use the "Report" option.
ChivMail Reporting:
To Access the ChivMail bot you'll need to join our Official Discord.
ChivMail can be found on the top right of the User List once you've entered the Discord.
Use either a screen capping software or an HD mobile device to capture video of the suspected user.
Attach this video in a message to the ChivMail Bot on Discord in addition to the suspected user's in-game username.
Videos should be around 30 seconds long and clearly show the suspected user using in-game cheats if possible. (If the video is too large for Discord, it can be uploaded unlisted onto a streaming platform like Youtube)
This will start a ticket on the topic that our moderators can respond to if additional information is needed.
Additional Step for EGS / Steam Users - Acquire the user's PlayerID:
Open the console by pressing ( ~ ) or ( NUMPAD - ) (If your console does not open, you may have to "Enable developer console" in GAME SETTINGS) (Rebindable in the setting if necessary)
Type the command "listplayers" and hit ENTER (This copies the player list to your clipboard)
Open any Word processing application (Notepad, Microsoft Word, etc) and press CTRL + V to paste the player list.
Find the offending player's name and ID # and include them in your ChivMail report. (For example - Username - 12AB34CD56EF78GH)
Patch Troubleshooting: For any users receiving the "Easy Anti-Cheat is not installed." Launch Error: please attempt to validate your game files.
Good morrow, knights! A minor hotfix (2.10.1) has been released with crucial bug fixes.
Fixed a bug that caused a player to be disconnected from a server when spawning at particular points on the Duelyard map.
Fixed a bug with the skill-based team balance feature that did not correctly allocate players between attack and defense.
Fixed a bug that prevented some players from being banned correctly from Unofficial Servers.
Now that the skill-based team balancing feature has been fixed, it will also be re-enabled for all platforms once this Hotfix has gone live. Although this Hotfix was smaller, we wanted to address these more pressing bugs first while our team continues to work on fixes for our other known issues.
We have also contributed significant time towards further testing the next layer of anti-cheat we mentioned in our Community Blog. While we test this next stage in the fight against cheaters, we will continue to act against those who bypass our protections to cheat within Chivalry, promote cheats, encourage the use of cheats to others, or break our Code of Conduct in any additional ways.

With the release of unofficial servers, our standalone duel servers will become social spaces. It will be up to the players how they use these spaces, therefore we will no longer be actively moderating for “RDM” (Random Death Match Instances i.e. attacking players randomly like you would in the free-for-all gamemode). Players must still however comply with our Code of Conduct and (https://chivalry2.com/terms-and-privacy-policy).
Teams will now balance players with an algorithm derived from global rank before the start of a given match. Once balanced, players will be unable to switch teams unless in the event of unbalanced player counts or when switched automatically by the game to maintain team balancing parameters.
The following modes will have Skill Based Team Balancing enabled:
64 Player Team Objective (Matchmaking Queue)
40 Player Mixed Modes (Matchmaking Queue)
Last Team Standing (Limited Time Queue and Standalone Servers)
This feature is currently not available for 3v3 Arena and Unofficial Servers, but we are exploring the option to add it in the future.
Additional Notes: _This feature was designed to help balance the start of a match, while still maintaining tight restrictions post-balancing around team size discrepancies. It behaves differently than a Skill Based Matchmaking system that would create entire lobbies of similarly skilled players ultimately requiring a much larger scope of work and introducing more risk. Due to the size of most of our lobbies, it made more sense for us to apply the balancing within the match itself.
Just before a match begins after all players have loaded in, the server will perform a shuffle taking into consideration players' global ranks as well as their premade parties before assigning them a team. The system is built to prioritize parties staying together. The balance algorithm in use is not solely trying to achieve a 1:1 balance according to global rank.
After the shuffle is complete, teams must not create an imbalance of more than 1 player at any one time, or Team Switching will be restricted. For example: if there are two teams of 16 players and one player in spectate, that player can swap to either team as the new numbers would be 17 vs 16 (an imbalance of 1). But if there is a team of 17 and a team of 16, the player in spectate will be unable to swap to the team of 17, as that would create 18 vs 16 (an imbalance of 2).
Both 64 and 40-player matches in the server browser remain unaffected by this new feature as they are currently treated as a more social space for playing Team Objective and Team Deathmatch._
Players will now have the option to select their Matchmaking region of preference. This option is available in the Game Options menu.
The following selections are available:
North America West
North America Central
North America East
South America West
West Europe
London
Paris
East Oceania
East Asia
South Korea
Japan
Please note that matchmaking search time and latency may be impacted depending on the region selected.

Good morrow knights! A minor hotfix (2.9.1) has been released that resolves a character customization reset bug, fixes crossparty bugs, as well as two Montcrux map issues.
The save data for character customization and settings were set to the incorrect file path, resulting in the failsafe to reset the player’s customization back to the default values. As a result of this fix, your customization may reset once more or return back to their previous customization seen before 2.9’s release. If players on PC wish to keep the customization and settings they made post 2.9’s release, the following workaround can be done:
_Make sure the game is closed
In your file explorer, navigate to “Chivalry 2/TBL/Saved/Cloud”
In a separate window, navigate to the location where your game is stored
Navigate through %localappdata%/Chivalry 2/TBL/Saved/Cloud
Backup the Cloud folder in your appdata directory
Copy over the Cloud folder seen in your game directory to your appdata directory
Start the game_
If done correctly, you should see your customization persist.
Fixed an issue where horse spawners would be active in 64p Matchmaking

QoL improvements
_Word of the Tenosian Empire’s invasion has spread, stirring the ire of the Agathian noble houses with bitter memories of old wars. Fueled by vengeance, a call to war against Tenosia has risen once again. “We must reclaim our grounds and fight once more for Argon, our one and true King!!” Within days, the Agathians rallied enough troops and marched back into the unknown lands of the South, reaching the great fortress of Montcrux, a battleground scarred by many battles of the past.
This is an uphill climb for the Agathians. They must break through the fortress’s walls with petards and avoid a rain of ballista fire from the Tenosians as the bombards continue to fire against the Agathian siege towers and camp. Should they break through, Agathians must then lift the keep’s gates and disable the bombards launching above, reclaiming the fortress as theirs once again._
_Unlike its more lightweight predecessor, the Siege Crossbow fires bolts that can deal notable damage to siege weapons and constructables. It also has the power to pierce through them. Be wary when hiding behind barricades! While it may deal considerable damage, use caution when reloading, aiming, and shooting, as this is a bulky weapon and you are limited in the amount of shots you can fire. Make them count! _
_The peasantry of Aberfell are having a feud! Whose turn was it to feed the pigs? Who keeps destroying the cabbage wagons?! Who sacrificed our good farmer Shaun to the Mason druids?! (That wasn’t supposed to happen until this weekend!)
As a fragile peasant owing fealty to the Agathian Knights or Mason Order, scramble for weapons to defeat the enemy team through multiple rounds! Very limited weapons of war are present on the map, so grab whatever you can find. The victor goes to the team that wins five rounds in total._

Fixed a crash that would occur when a player tackles another player into a horse
Fixed an issue where the player would be locked in sprint mode after certain actions while horses are present in a given match
In certain cases, the sprinting value speed would not be set back to zero even though the player was not in a sprinting state. This fix not only addresses this case but also other cases where this issue would happen.
Upon further ongoing review of the current combat, it was noted that players would use stabs while behind a teammate to mask their attack, resulting in a disadvantage for the defender when reading and defending against such attacks. This has been addressed. Note that for 2.9, this can still be accomplished through a heavy stab, which we will be looking to address in the future.

Note that 40 player mixed modes in standalone servers is different from matchmaking servers in the sense that they do not include horses. _

We're aware that player customization and some options like PC keybinds are being reset when launching 2.9 for the first time. Thanks for your patience while we investigate.
Dismembered heads from players change to default customization
There’s an inconsistency with the breakables that are affected by siege crossbow
Report button does not focus properly on gamepad
Occasional failure when adding friends
Kills on the progression tab are not incrementing properly
Achievement progress visually does not track (but does increment properly behind the scenes). Firing 1000 arrows achievement for example will not properly represent how many arrows you’ve fired, but it will still update the actual number and unlock at 1000.
In game UI may not list all players in the party
Siege Crossbow - Unintended reload animation on horseback
Siege Crossbow - Flickers after being thrown
Siege Crossbow - Inconsistencies on what objects it damages and doesn’t damage
With 2.9, the game directory was changed which has caused PC users to lose their customization and settings. There is a potential workaround below that may help resolve this:
Close the game
Navigate to your %appdata/local/chivalry2/saved/cloud folder
In a separate window, navigate to the location where your game is stored
Navigate through Chivalry 2/TBL/Saved/Cloud
Backup the folder in your game directory
Copy over the cloud folder in your app data directory to your game location directory
Start the game

Chivalry 2 introduces cross-platform parties beta, a brand new Team Objective Map - The Sacking of Bridgetown, the Heavy Cavalry Sword, a new Campaign Pass - Raiding Party, a new gamemode - Mounted Arena, combat changes, and quality of life improvements in Chivalry 2's new Raiding Party Update! Read on below.
We are excited to finally be releasing a beta version of this long requested feature to Chivalry 2, which now allows players to add players to their in-game Friend List from any platform through the use of friend codes. Each player has a unique friend code that can be generated. Once added, players can invite friends and create parties in the main menu, regardless of their platform. Please note that, while this feature is now available for players, it is currently in Beta - which means some bugs and issues can be expected as we continue to improve this feature. If you are having issues with adding a friend or joining a friend’s party, please attempt re-adding your friend or restarting your game.
The news of King Argon’s victory against the Masons at Thayic Stronghold has spread across Agatha. The nobles of Irilla and the surrounding lands have come together for a decadent celebration, filling Bridgetown with laughter and joy. The wine flows and the noblemen dance to the music and cheers, this is surely a day that will be remembered for generations to come!
Outside the city walls the peasants toil in the fruitful vineyards that provided such an ample supply of fine wines for the festivities. The distant sound of the partying gentry is pierced by a harrowing horn, but this is no horn of the north. The workers grab what meager armaments they can and await the storm.
After successfully breaching the bulwark at Baudwyn the Tenosian Empire has begun the second phase of their invasion. In order to further their advance inland they must cross the river through Bridgetown. The Tenosian army will stop at nothing; setting the outlying farms and vineyard ablaze and defenestrating the cowardly nobles.
With Weathered Heavy Cavalry Sword, Heavy Cavalry Sword, and Decorated Cavalry Sword skins
A new one handed weapon for the Man-at-Arms Footman Soldier and Knight Guardian, this sword has long reach and slow swings. In addition, it features incredible prowess on horseback in comparison to other weapons, having slash attacks that differ from its slash attacks on foot. This weapon can also be held forward while inputting a special attack on horseback. Lead the charge!
Think you’re a good horseman? Looking to stick a lance into someone’s chest without any distractions? Prove it to the cheering crowd in this new 1v1 mode for Arena enthusiasts! Coming soon as part of our limited time queue rotation, two players on horseback challenge each other to a joust on Tournament Grounds with various weapons. The round doesn’t end until your opponent is completely defeated.
Like a traditional Battle Pass, players can complete challenges and earn in-game rewards such as currency and armoury items as they play. The Raiding Party Campaign Pass has no time limit, so you can earn rewards at your own pace.
Play the Raiding Party Campaign Pass at no cost to unlock free currency and armoury items, or upgrade to unlock premium rewards. The Premium Campaign Pass can be purchased for 1000 Crowns in-game.

Mason forces land on the shores of the Agathian heartland and assault Argon II's final stronghold. The new Stronghold map is playable in the limited time: Winter War queue.
The Masons have cornered the Agathians in their northern stronghold. In the wretched cold, the Mason Order action on the one command from the grizzled King himself: kill the self-proclaimed leader of Agatha and be rid of the rebellion once and for all. The Agathian Knights, however, have never been more unified than before. Under the banners of the Cross and Lion, the blue and gold shine as bright as King Argon the Second’s armour. Like the harsh wind of the land, Argon shouts, “Fight for Agatha!”
In this map, Masons are tasked to siege Thayic Stronghold and kill Argon. However, this will not be easy. The shoreline is heavily defended with artillery and the Masons must break through the walls, lowering the main fort’s drawbridge, and capture the courtyard right in front of Argon’s doorstep.
As the Mason Order, attackers must complete the following objectives:
Objective 1- Blow up the shoreline defense towers Objective 2 - Destroy the stronghold’s bell tower Objective 3 - Destroy the stronghold’s banners Objective 4 - Lower the drawbridge Objective 5 - Capture the courtyard Objective 6 - Kill Argon II
As the Agathian Knights, defenders must stop the Masons from completing each of these objectives. However, should they reach the sixth objective, the top scoring player will become the VIP and lead the charge to turn the tide of battle.
Some objectives will feature horse spawns and horses can be found within the map itself. Players can play the map in both the Mounted Warfare queue, the limited timed Winter War queue and the 64 Player Mixed Modes queue.
Falmire joins the Mounted Warfare queue and is now playable with horses in certain stages.
The quarterstaff is a two-handed heavy primary weapon that caters to players who value versatility. Used by the Crusader subclass of the Knight class, you can overwhelm opponents with speed up close, and then target switch with overhead attacks to pummel them at a distance. The quarterstaff is a strong defensive weapon with long range and reduced stamina cost on block and special attack, allowing for longer bouts against your foes.

After the fall of the bulwark in Baudwyn, many Masons who were unable to retreat were captured and held prisoner in Askandir. With the sound of cheering Tenosian spectators wishing for a good show and their deaths, the Masons must prove that they will not be taken down for sport. Fight on horseback and prove your faction’s might!
Hippodrome is a fast, frantic, bloody combat arena with spike traps, flamethrowers and horses thrown into the mix. You'll feel like a gladiator fighting for your life in this Tenosian equivalent of Tournament Grounds. Listen to the stampede of hooves as you run down the field with lance couched, ready to slam into any enemy in your sights.
Katars, with four customization variations (Katars, Maustika, Imperial Fang, and Tigress Claws)
The first dual-wielded weapon joins the world of Chivalry 2! The Katars are a matched pair of deadly daggers for swift close range attacks. Designed for the Ambusher class, it is a very fast stab weapon that does not interrupt opponents. It also encourages the player wielding it to have good footwork and to make use of dodges, as it has a very weak block compared to other weapons. The katars make for an excellent engaging weapon, allowing Ambushers to get behind enemy lines and cut down heavily armored fighters with ease.
This weapon requires high precision to use and much practice. Aim well during your ambushes!
Katars operate under the same counter rules seen in spears (ie. a stab input will counter a Katar's slash and stab attack)
The special is quick and has the chance of hitting an opponent twice
When inputting Jab, players wielding Katars will headbutt instead of a standard weapon jab
Slash, stab, and overhead attacks of the Katars will not cause the opponent to flinch when you successfully land a hit
Additional Aswaran Armor tier added for Tenosia Footman - Tamar’s Battle Garb
New Turban Helmet Set, with additional Chain and Gladiator variants
New Furusiyya Armor for Tenosia Vanguard
New Engraved Helmet Set, with Emerald and Eternal Guard Mask variants

As Chivalry 2 celebrates 2 million copies sold, Torn Banner Studios talk post-launch support and upcoming content in our new Developer Diary.
Developer Torn Banner Studios and publisher Tripwire Presents announced today that Chivalry 2 has sold over 2 million copies worldwide across all platforms. To celebrate this exciting milestone, Torn Banner Studios has unveiled a brand-new developer diary with a behind-the-scenes retrospective look at the Tenosian Invasion update, which added mounted horse combat, a new faction, and more. In addition, the developers look ahead and share the first details of what’s coming next for the ultimate medieval battlefield.
As discussed in the new developer diary, Torn Banner Studios set out on a mission to double the content scope of Chivalry 2 in a single year, and has officially achieved that goal. Since launch, the team has released numerous, free content updates, adding the new weapons-free Brawl Mode, new Team Objective and Deathmatch maps, and many new weapons, just to name a few. Most recently, they launched their biggest update yet - Tenosian Invasion - alongside the game’s release on Steam, bringing mounted combat, cavalry charges, a brand-new faction, and more to Chivalry 2.
Looking ahead, the developer diary outlines some of the exciting upcoming additions coming to Chivalry 2. These include the Hippodrome, a new tournament-styled map set in the Tenosian faction setting and designed with mounted horse combat in mind, a new Tenosian-inspired weapon called the Katar, a new winter-themed biome featuring snow and ice, and the long-awaited cross-play party social support, which has been highly requested from the community. Players can expect these features and more as Torn Banner reinforces its commitment to supporting and expanding the scope of Chivalry 2 for 2022 and beyond.
Last week we released a minor update patch to address some crash fixes, map balance concerns and general game fixes.
In reviewing our map data and win/lose ratio data, we have noticed that The Razing of Askandir is slightly too difficult for defenders on some objectives, The Breach of Baudwyn is slightly too difficult for attackers on multiple objectives, and that The Raid of Aberfell is too difficult for attackers to progress effectively in the beginning two stages of the map.
The Razing of Askandir
Stage 2: Decreased defenders spawn timer from 12 to 10 seconds
Stage 3: Decreased objective timer from 5 to 4 minutes
The Breach of Baudwyn
Stage 1: Increased objective timer from 7 to 8 minutes
Stage 2:
Increased defenders spawn timer from 11 to 12 seconds
Lowered the HP of catapults from 1400 to 1200 HP
Lowered the HP of ballistas from 700 to 600 HP
Stage 3:
Increased defenders spawn timer from 10 to 12 seconds
Decreased attacker spawn timer from 10 to 8 seconds
Stage 4: Lowered the time added at the beginning of the stage from 8 to 7 minutes
The Raid of Aberfell
Stage 1: Raised the points given by carryable peasants and pigs so only 25 of them are needed to bring back to the boat instead of 30
Stage 2: Increased defenders spawn timer from 12 to 15 seconds
Map Fixes
Fixed an issue where Peasants would not appear during the final stage of Coxwell
Fixed an issue where sitting on the throne in Rudhelm would cause the Mason heir to not spawn

Midsommar has come!
The Mason druid warlords and peasantry are hosting a festival in the fields of Aberfell that would make any Agathian shriek in terror – and you’re invited! Things soon get out of control however, as during the obligatory dance, two druids enter a heated discussion. Is this part of the ceremony? Who cares, it’s an all out brawl now! And there’s plenty of food and limbs to pick up and toss around for all!
The Midsommar Event starts NOW and is available for a limited time.

Good morrow, knights! Today we are bringing you the first post-launch update, which is live now and available for you to download.
In addition to these patch notes we’re also tracking other issues/bugs that have cropped up post-launch, but here is what is being addressed in 2.5.1.
After the Tenosian Invasion launch on all platforms we were able to make some observations about how our new Team Objective maps were playing out with the community at large.
For both maps we’ve made the beginning half of the maps easier for attackers to progress through, where previously defenders were holding the line too often. We anticipate that this will improve the overall balance of the map and improve the playing experience for both attackers and defenders.
Stage 1
Stage 2
