Forwarded emails were crashing the party in disguise, showing up in channels wearing the icon and name of totally unrelated apps. Turns out that's not appropriate business attire. The masquerade is over, and these emails will now be clearly labeled as themselves.

Toggling a list to "table view" on Android was causing all content to disappear from view. Remember when you were a kid and tried doing the tablecloth trick, but just ended up pulling everything onto the floor? It was kind of like that. With this update, you'll find all tables have been set (and are free from bugs).

Dismissing the keyboard with a quick downward swipe sometimes resulted in the message input field getting stuck in the center of the screen. The keyboard and input will once again stick together like the best friends they are, moving in and out of view in tandem.

HDR videos weren't playing back correctly on iOS. A world this vivid deserves an app that can keep up, and now ours does.

Button, button, who's got the button? Workflows with Salesforce links certainly did not — those buttons couldn't be tapped on iOS. This update should button things up nicely.

"Words are fleeting, but emoji are forever" is what our recent bug seemed to say when it prevented you from removing emoji from titles of lists. Links to huddles within canvases were appearing as empty pills on the mobile app. We put our heads together to handle this huddle hurdle. Slack wasn't reliably appearing as an option within the Android share sheet. It's hard to share when the recipient isn't very... receptive. You should find Slack much more agreeable with this new build.

Regrettably, some emoji were not rendering in canvases when viewed on the mobile app. If each of those little pictograms is indeed worth a thousand words, then we owe you a whole lot of characters under the current exchange rate. If you created a custom filter in the Activity view to show only @mentions of your name, we were also displaying messages mentioning your keywords and user groups. Looks like there were some holes in that filter of ours. It's fixed now — don't mention it.

When adding someone to a DM, the search function wasn't being very ... searchy. We sought, scoured, sifted, and scouted for the cause. The result? One fixed bug in this update. We accidentally turned out the lights on older versions of Android, forcing dark mode without sufficient contrast. We've always felt it's better to light a candle than curse the darkness, so this update brightens things up.

In some cases, the Home view was loading in ever-so-slightly scrolled down from where it should have been. All the elements were still in view, but it just wasn't quite right. When you care about your guests, you want everything to be just so — and we do care about you — so please enjoy this very tiny fix.

Is there something strange in your neighborhood? iPad users were spooked to notice a ghostly white image in place of their newly-uploaded profile pictures. We knew who to call; this bug is now busted.

If you scheduled a message via the "New Message" flow, you may have noticed it didn't actually schedule or send; it just vanished into the ether. The technical term for this behavior is (checks notes) "incredibly annoying." We're very sorry for the trouble, and have scheduled a fix for this update.

Quick replies from notifications now include a "Reply in thread" option, ensuring your message always lands where you intend.

Images uploaded to Slack were missing a menu option to "View in browser." Should you browse this menu again, you'll now find this option in view.

When downloading a file to your phone, the file name was being pulled from the URL rather than its proper title. Furthermore, if that URL contained any non-English characters, those letters would be replaced with underscores, resulting in files with unhelpful names like " ________.pdf." For those of you who enjoyed the game show element of having to guess the names of your files, we're sorry to report that this has been fixed. Forwarding messages to other channels and DMs wasn't providing the option to add your own accompanying blurb. Add context or don't — the choice is now yours.

If you were removed from a private channel where you had a message drafted, a "1" would remain stuck next to Drafts with no way to clear it. We'll hang on to that draft for you in case you re-join the channel, but we'll hide the notification in the meantime. Those using the VoiceOver feature were unable to select or play audio clips. All voices deserve to be heard in Slack — this update brings harmony to the app.

Tapping "View in Browser" on remote files added via API was appending a "/" at the end of the URL, effectively breaking the link. Let us never underestimate the power of one small character to topple even the most complex systems. Batch image uploads were broken in canvases, forcing you to upload one at a time. Sometimes it's rewarding to take the slower, more deliberate path toward accomplishing a goal — mindfully connecting with each individual element and savoring the satisfaction. Sometimes you just need to upload 20 photos at once. This was the latter.

What's black and white and (re)read all over? Your Slack messages — when conversations stayed unread on mobile even after you'd read them on desktop. This riddle of a bug is solved in our latest update.

Have you met the revamped Slackbot? It's everywhere these days — even in places it shouldn't be. For example, if you set an emoji icon for emails being posted to Slack, that icon would instead show up as Slackbot. We love you, Slackbot, but stay in your lane. Microsoft Intune users were reporting problems logging in to non-enterprise workspaces. This update provides a tune-up that should have things properly harmonized once again. If two or more Bluetooth devices were paired to your phone, it wasn't possible to choose which one to use during a huddle. Instead, the audio preferences menu would simply display a single mystery "Bluetooth" option with no additional information. While the gamblers among us may have enjoyed the element of danger, the rest of us are glad it's been fixed. The option for workspace owners and admins to delete others' messages was intermittently disappearing from the long-press menu. We can accept some degree of uncertainty when it comes to predicting the weather, but not administrative privileges. Here's something we can say with confidence: this bug has been deleted.

One of our menus didn't get the memo when it came to turning notifications on or off for a particular thread. Specifically, when tapping into a thread and selecting additional options (...), "Turn off notifications" was always visible, even after notifications had been disabled. Going forward, all unsubscribe requests will be honored, and records shall be updated accordingly.

Sharing into Slack from third-party apps (such as the Android photo gallery) was sometimes failing with the message "Can't share content to the current workspace." After extensive testing in our labs, we've concluded that sharing is caring — and so is this fix. Like a receipt for the wrong purchase, a media player notification was appearing in the drawer after tapping on an image in Slack. Weirder still, pressing play on the notification would begin playing audio or video from a separate file further back in the channel history. Talk about Stranger Things. Here's hoping we've seen the series finale of this bug.

Like a boomerang, bad penny, or persistent telemarketer, DMs kept reappearing in the sidebar no matter how many times you tapped "close conversation." No means no, closed means closed, and fixed (we hope) means fixed. Scrubbing through a video was scrubbing the progress bar clean off, making it impossible to go forward or back while the video was playing. Since we can't press "rewind" on this bug, allow us to "fast-forward" to a fix with this update. If you were logged out via your workspace's session duration settings, you may have gotten a "Sorry, an error occurred" message when attempting to log back in. While technically correct, that's not very helpful (the message or the being locked out). With this update, you may come and go as you please.

iPhone-specific emoji (such as Animoji or Memoji) were failing to send within Slack. Please accept our sincerest apoloji. Emoji were also occasionally not matching across desktop and mobile due to a localization issue. Our emoji interpreters have been working overtime to ensure this won't happen again.

The VoiceOver feature was glossing over certain details when announcing messages delivered via webhook. Going forward, its screen reading will be more thorough, helpful, and (dare we say it) accessible. Returning to the main channel view after replying to a thread sometimes left a large, empty rectangle where the keyboard used to be. To put it in radio-friendly terms: We had a blank space, baby, and it was swiftly resolved.

Highlighted text in dark mode didn't have a ton of contrast, making it hard to read the words you had selected. With this update, we've illuminated the problem. "Dim mode" is out; dark mode is back in. Occasionally, when opening an app within Slack, the app's main page would be completely blank. We determined that this behavior was erroneous, unhelpful, and just plain confusing. Apps will now appear less tongue-tied when you access their home pages within Slack.

Emoji with names written in Korean characters were failing to render within the app. We apologize for not providing you with the full picture (or, indeed, any picture) when it came to these emoji.

Online indicators for guest accounts were in bad shape — that is, they weren't displaying their correct shapes (squares and triangles), defaulting instead to the familiar circle. We've quite literally squared the circle on this one, returning guest indicators to their proper geometric glory. The mobile emoji picker wasn't taking into account your most frequently-used emoji on desktop, so if your favorite handshake reaction wasn't making the handoff to mobile, that one was on us. We promise not to let that happen again. Shake on it? Different skin tones of the same emoji will once again be grouped together when reacting to a message. No matter our complexion, we're all one human family, even when represented as cartoon pictographs.

The filter option within the DMs tab was doing... nothing. It was ornamental, vestigial, and most definitely broken. We've filtered the offending code right out, and DMs are now A-OK. Did you know you can send emails to a Slack channel? Pretty neat, huh? Did you also know that forwarding that message to a different channel within Slack would change your avatar to that of a bot and/or app? Notably less neat, we contend. Slack: Now with fewer identity crises. Launching the app by tapping on a notification banner would sometimes cause channel headers and the "Back" button to be conspicuously absent. There are few things in life from which there is truly no return; go forth in Slack and know that you can always retrace your steps. When two users had the same display name, we weren't showing their full names alongside in autocomplete menus. This gave the act of tagging someone in a message the same thrilling anxiety as greeting a person whose name you're only 50% sure you remember. Color us surprised that custom theme colors for notifications were getting stuck, meaning if you switched to hot pink for Fuchsia Friday, you might have no choice but to continue into Magenta Monday. Bugs, like tricky stains, eventually all come out in the wash. Many thanks to our engineers for laundering this eye-catching error. Switching to a different workspace while on an active huddle meant you were unable to return to the workspace hosting the huddle. It was a very "no ins-and-outs" policy, like a concert that doesn't allow re-entry. The thing is, it wasn't a policy at all; it was just a bug. Come on back in — the show's about to start.

If your workspace did not allow messages to be copied, we were also erroneously preventing you from viewing file attachments. Here's a message we're not just copying from previous bug fixes: We're sincerely sorry for the trouble.

Shooting stars may be ephemeral, but starred conversations in Slack are forever — at least that was the buggy behavior folks experienced when they found they could not un-star channels and DMs on mobile. We thank our lucky stars (not to mention our mobile engineers) for this bug fix. The "[Name] is typing..." indicator was not appearing within threads.
